00:39che vive appunto a Roma dalla fine degli anni 70 circa.
00:55Alvin ha fatto un'archività in Roma, a lotto di lavoro con Alvin
00:58looking at old recordings.
00:59And he introduced us and we began to work together
01:03on the idea of maybe making a short film,
01:06which is shown here at ICA.
01:09It's a film called Walk the Way Home,
01:12which is made from pictures, videos that I was filming
01:15with my phone in the streets of Paris
01:17and then in the streets of Rome when I moved to Rome.
01:21and Alvin's music served to bring these images together
01:26and this was our first collaboration.
01:29And then I began a series of interviews of Alvin
01:32with Maxime throughout 2017 and 2018.
01:36We would meet every few weeks and talk in his office
01:40about his work, his life in Rome,
01:43the formation of Musica Elettronica Viva
01:46and how this period of exploration in music
01:52corresponded to a period of experimentation
01:55in the political spheres as well.
01:57And from these interviews, I started working on a film.
02:02I shot some images with Super 8 in Rome.
02:05And then the following year, when I moved back to Paris,
02:08I started working with my editor, Claire Atherton,
02:13looking at trying to sort of make a film
02:16that would echo Alvin's methodology with music
02:20in the films, in a trilogy of films that I was making.
02:24And so I started looking for images in different archives
02:28and creating a film that is sort of bringing images together
02:32in the way that Alvin brings sounds together.
