00:00What is your take on the importance that the women's game at the club level starts matching the interest and
00:10the love that the national team has created in the American fan?
00:16Because the women's team that is preparing very, very, very well for the next Women's World Cup has been able
00:22to capture the fans in a way that finally we start seeing glimpses of it at the club level.
00:30Yeah. But I will say this. I have in previous World Cups and in previous times when on the men's
00:39side, we've kept waiting for this time when the international game will spill over to our domestic league and we
00:44will see this rise in the league.
00:46Yeah. It's taken a very long time, 30 plus years of MLS to get where it's at today. You compare
00:53that to the WSL and WSL and it's like it's going to it's going to take time and we have
01:00to we're watching it grow.
01:02And it is obviously going in the right direction. But these things take a lot of time. To answer your
01:06question directly, it's huge. It's very important. It helps develop the game. The game is developed by the youth. That
01:13makes the league better.
01:14You get this amazing feedback loop and you start to build something that's great. That's already great in the U
01:19.S. where we're the powerhouse of women's football in the world.
01:22And that is, for us, a huge point of pride as it should be. And so it can only help.
01:27But it takes time. And I just don't want to do what everyone has been doing on the men's side
01:32for so long and just assume that each World Cup that's going to come is just going to change everything.
01:37You know what I mean? It does. It's time that it has to grow organically. This is about culture as
01:44much as it is about sport and culture. We see glimpses of it in the MLS happening right now. There's
01:51these beautiful sparks of organic growth. I mean, it just takes time. I can't stress that enough. Things can help.
01:59But it takes time, right? I mean, we've seen that.
