00:00When you look at the job openings right now, Bob, what's the most intriguing job and what's the best job
00:06opening, in your opinion?
00:09I don't think it's the Seattle Mariners' manager job.
00:12That team's low with talent.
00:14They're grossly underachieved.
00:17Great city.
00:19Great talent.
00:20So I think that manager job is the best.
00:23It's only better than Houston and the Angels.
00:27You know, GM job is still open also in both places, in Houston and Anaheim as well.
00:34I'd go to the manager job in Seattle.
00:37The Astros job, it's intriguing there.
00:39I mean, is there somebody that you think would be the perfect fit for that as they try to retool
00:45from what they've done over the last decade?
00:47They were a great baseball organization, fallen on hard times a little bit as of late here, made a run
00:52here late this past year.
00:53But, I mean, why isn't the Astro job an intriguing job?
00:59Well, just to look at some high contracts and they've got to move some pieces to make it work.
01:06So, you know, I'd love to see a guy like Mike Rizzo, who used to be the GM of the
01:10Nationals, get that job.
01:11That'd be great.
01:12They're talking to a number of people, analytic people as well.
01:16And the manager, I wouldn't be surprised to say it's Brad Ausmus.
01:20He's very close with Jeff Bagwell, who's got the trust of the owner, Jim Crane.
01:25And Ausmus, of course, is the bench coach for Boone in New York.
01:31Ideas on the Angel job?
01:32I mean, Mike Trout's winding it down there.
01:34Any ideas on who you think would get that gig?
01:38No, money's no object, you know, to sell it to the, you know, the family that owns the Rams and
01:43the Nuggets and everything else.
01:45So, money's no problem.
01:48I'm not sure who will get that GM job.
01:51I think the GM job, because I think they'll spend some money, could be lucrative.
01:55They don't have any outside trout, no big contracts in the books.
01:59So, whoever has a, it's going to be an open canvas, whoever gets that job.
02:04And that job's good as well.
02:06It's just going to take a few years.
02:07I'll tell you what, Bob, now that Stan Kroenke's group has bought that team, if you look at what they've
02:13done, they've won a premier title, they've won a MLS title, they've won a Super Bowl, they've won a Stanley
02:20Cup, and they've won a Super Bowl.
02:21So, I mean, that organization, I think they're the best ownership group in all of the world, because they've won
02:28at multiple levels.
02:29That job might become entertaining.
02:31You're always going to be second fiddle, though, I get it, to the Dodgers there.
02:35But that could be an intriguing job in a couple years.
02:39Well, it could be.
02:39Yeah, it's just going to take a while to get that thing done.
02:42And then you do a stadium, too.
02:44That thing's kind of falling apart.
02:45Need a new spring training headquarters.
02:47So, a lot of infrastructure needs to be changed or upped in, for sure.
02:51But, yeah, it could be, if Kroenke throws his money out like he has in other franchises, it could be
02:57very lucrative.
