The Bikaner House Management Society has sought the removal of several photographs from artist Rehan Vadra's exhibition titled 'No Idea is Final' in New Delhi. The cultural institution defended its decision by citing policy inconsistency and strict compliance requirements, noting that remaining non-objectionable works continue to be showcased. Around 75 of the 105 photographs, primarily depicting recent public demonstrations and protests in the capital, were ordered to be taken down ahead of the show's opening. Vadra, son of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, stated that no political slogans or leaders were featured and expressed surprise over the sudden objections despite earlier approvals.

00:09He says few pictures, they have said that few pictures were inconsistent with the policy.
00:15We're talking about Raihan Vadra, the son of Congress MP Priyanka Vadra.
00:20And the officials have said that the remaining pictures of course are being displayed at the moment.
00:27Also, Cultural Institute has defended Raihan's decision.
00:32Also, B. Kanner House has cited strict compliance clause for the reason for not displaying some of his photographs.
00:39Raihan was asked to remove the stir images, the protest images that he was displaying.
00:44Also, the B. Kanner House Society on Thursday had said that it had sought the removal of certain photographs from
00:51Raihan Vadra's exhibition
00:53after finding them inconsistent with its policy, adding that the remaining pictures continue to be displayed.
01:00In a statement, the Society has said it is a public cultural institution dedicated to promoting art and culture
01:07and that exhibitions and associated activities must comply with the B. Kanner House Management Society policy.
01:15Certain photographs displayed as part of Mr. Raihan Vadra's exhibition.
01:19No idea is final. That was the title.
01:23At B. Kanner House were found to be inconsistent with the policy of the B. Kanner House Management Society.
01:30We have with us Rahul Gautam's bite now coming in on that.
01:38Rahul Gautam is now coming in live on the program as well to give us more details on the same.
01:43Rahul, first up, let's quickly try and understand what were the photographs where the issues were raised
01:50of Raihan Vadra's photographs at the B. Kanner House.
01:54And, you know, he seems to have consistently said that all of these photographs were already displayed to them before,
02:01the layout was showed to them before, but a week before there was no sort of any opposition that was
02:07raised.
02:07Why suddenly it was raised right when the opening was to happen?
02:15Well, you know, precisely this was the question that I asked, you know, Raihan Vadra about the nature of pictures
02:23by the B. Kanner House Management, to which he said that there were no such pictures that had any sort
02:31of
02:31slovens or pictures of any politician, there might be some pictures, you know, some long shots of the crowd or
02:40people waving, say, Ranga.
02:41But as such, there were no political pictures or political, you know, slovens that were part of the exhibition.
02:48But still, you know, they were not allowed to be showcased by the management.
02:54In fact, he said that I myself also shared the layout of the entire collection.
03:01And, you know, this is not the first time when I'm, you know, holding an exhibition at B. Kanner House.
03:07He confirmed to us that he has already showcased over one dozen, you know, of his works at the same
03:15place.
03:16But this time around, Raihan claimed that it was the management of B. Kanner House that said that the timing
03:23is problematic,
03:24I think the timing is not appropriate, even the fact that Delhi has witnessed, you know, a series of protests,
03:32you know, pertaining to the alleged vote jury and, you know, campaign against the CAC.
03:40So, therefore, he was conveyed that some of us are, you know, objectionable, are fearful in nature.
03:49And, you know, Raihan told us, you know, he was actually surprised to know.
03:53Right. Rahul, thanks for getting us those details.
03:56So, viewers, as we know, on the evening of 21st October, visitors to No Idea is Final,
04:01the photography exhibition at Delhi's B. Kanner House found empty red walls with nails in them
04:07and a catalog showing what should have hung there.
04:09But the photographs were by these 26-year-old Raihan Wadra, the son of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Wadra.
04:16And, of course, you know, these about 75 of the 105 photographs had been ordered to be removed that afternoon.
04:23So, feeling which the exhibition would be cancelled as well.
04:27So, now, of course, there is a statement coming in from B. Kanner House that there are some rules that
04:32have to be abided by
04:33as far as the management is concerned.
