A political controversy has erupted in Karnataka over the Mysuru Dasara celebrations after police personnel stopped cabinet ministers from entering a ritual arena. The Bharatiya Janata Party targeted the state government, alleging that ministers from the Dalit community were deliberately barred and disrespected during the event. However, the ruling dispensation cited standard police protocol for the ritual. A video circulated showing police officers holding back ministers while other leaders proceeded to the ceremonial puja. State authorities subsequently intervened to allow the ministers inside, even as the opposition questioned whether the move was deliberate discrimination or adherence to security guidelines.

01:00And this is disrespecting the Dalits.
01:02BJP says that this is Dalit insult and it's not simply a protocol
01:06that was being followed by the police personnel.
01:09Now, the government is citing, the government of Karnataka is citing
01:13the Dashehra protocol for the Nandi Polo ritual.
01:16Let's listen in first to what happened.

01:36So, that is the video, ladies and gentlemen.
01:38You can see the police personnel and looks like a senior officer as well
01:41stopping the other ministers and who happened to be from the Dalit community.

01:58Because BJP believes this was deliberate.
02:01I've noticed that there were chief ministers from other states who were part of this year's
02:07Dashehra celebration.
02:08Revan Threddy was there.
02:10And even Keralam's chief minister was also present in this particular Dashehra celebration,
02:17PD Subdition.
02:18And D.K. Shubh Kumar was heading for a special puja where they had to offer a flower to the
02:27god.
02:27At that time, there were ministers who were accompanying him, and the ministers were in
02:31stock.
02:32And this particular video had gone viral.
02:35And now the BJP has given a color of Dalit where they have targeted the Karnalaka Congress,
02:39stating that the Dalit ministers were not allowed inside that particular puja, which was supposed
02:44to happen.
02:45And the cabinet ministers themselves have been stopped.
02:48And you can notice that the D.K. Shubh Kumar instructs the police, stating that they should
02:53be allowed their cabinet ministers, and thereafter they have been allowed.
02:56However, the BJP has tweeted, stating that the Karnalaka...
02:59This also deserves a complete clarification, so it shouldn't seem like that this was done
03:04with any casteist intention.
03:06You can see D.K.
03:06Shubh Kumar walking, but certain other ministers have been held back.
03:10Was this disrespect to Dalits, or was it protocol?
