A major political row has broken out between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress after video clips surfaced showing Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar being pushed behind amid the crowd during an opposition protest march in New Delhi led by Rahul Gandhi. The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting the Karnataka Chief Minister and insulting Kannadiga pride, with Karnataka BJP chief B.Y. Vijayendra questioning if Shivakumar is dispensable for the Congress leadership. Appearing on the broadcast, Karnataka BJP leader G.S. Prashanth stated that as the sitting chief minister of Karnataka, Shivakumar must be accorded the highest respect and cannot be pushed away. Congress defended the incident, stating it was merely chaotic crowd movement during the demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, while India Today correspondent Nagarjun noted that party workers and the jostling inner circle pushed people back as Gandhi moved ahead.

00:00Karnataka BJP is now targeting Rahul Gandhi over alleged insult of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at yesterday's rally.
00:07So that's the breaking news that's coming in. Karnataka BJP has posted images of Rahul Gandhi and D.K. Shivakumar
00:14from the rally.
00:15And in the video, it can be seen how Rahul Gandhi is rushing ahead, leaving Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar
00:21behind.
00:22Now the BJP is crying that this was an insult to the Chief Minister and insult to D.K. Shivakumar
00:27is equal to insult to Karnataka pride.
00:30And the Karnataka BJP chief has made the scathing attack.
00:34B.Y. Vijendra is asking, is D.K. Shivakumar dispensable for Congress?
00:39So there's a big war over alleged D.K. Shivakumar snub and Karnataka pride that has now erupted after yesterday's
00:47rally.
00:47My colleague Nagarjun is now joining us with more details on this.
00:50Nagarjun, was this a chaotic moment and that led to D.K. Shivakumar being left behind?
00:57Or was there some kind of tension that the BJP is now pointing to?
01:03In fact, BJP is mocking D.K. Shivakumar being pulled away by Rahul Gandhi and the Congress workers in the
01:09rush yesterday.
01:11The video clearly seen, this was live telecast on the Congress channels also.
01:15There was a lot of ruckus and someone trying to get in close to the inner circle of Rahul Gandhi.
01:19And D.K. Shivakumar was being there and Rahul Gandhi initially pushes a YouTuber or an influencer because he's making
01:26his victory.
01:27And D.K. Shivakumar comes forward.
01:29In the natural sense, Rahul Gandhi doesn't even realize who it is, just pushes him away is what the Congress
01:34is saying.
01:35While the BJP has now picked up this issue saying that Jeev Kumar himself in Karnataka back in Bangalore calls
01:42himself a lion, a big rock for Karnataka.
01:44Look how he's being treated in Delhi by Rahul Gandhi.
01:48And also Vijayendra said that he's the chief minister of Karnataka.
01:51He represents the full Karnataka state.
01:53So him treating this way, is it fair for Congress party to treat chief ministers by pulling them, pushing them
02:01while they've joined for a protest for the party?
02:03And that's the big war of words between the BJP and the Congress.
02:07We'll have to wait and see what D.K. Shivakumar would say on this.
02:10He still remains to be in Delhi.
02:12As of now, he would come back to Bangalore today.
02:14While the BJP has already started attacking Rahul Gandhi that he doesn't respect the chief ministers of his own party.
02:20All right, Raghurjan, thank you for those details.
02:23So the BJP is now questioning Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party over D.K. Shivakumar Sanab.
02:28And it is also saying that the insult of Karnataka chief minister is insulting Karnataka pride also.
02:38So fresh controversy has now erupted during opposition's protests against chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
02:44Leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi has found himself under the spotlight.
02:48As the protests unfolded, cameras captured moments that have now triggered a political slugfest.
02:54In one video, Rahul Gandhi appears to pull Karnataka chief minister D.K. Shivakumar as the leaders move through the
02:59crowd
02:59and was seen pushing D.K.s behind him who then struggled to keep up in the crowd.
03:05So he was pushed behind by the cadre, walking with Rahul Gandhi.
03:12And that is not all.
03:13In another clip, Rahul Gandhi is also seen elbowing and pushing against his own party workers amid the jostling crowd.
03:19Now, the footage has handed the BJP fresh ammunition to target Rahul Gandhi.
03:23BJP has accused Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting Karnataka's chief minister,
03:27turning against his own party workers and displaying arrogance.
03:30The attacks have also drawn on Congress' electoral setbacks to question Rahul Gandhi's leadership.
03:35Taking it a step further, Karnataka BJP chief B.Y. Vijendra argued that any perceived insult touches the pride of
03:42Kannadigas,
03:43asking whether the Karnataka chief minister is willing to stand up to his own high command.
03:50And we're now being joined by Karnataka BJP leader G.S. Prashant on the story.
03:55Mr. Prashant, a very good morning to you.
03:57So, Karnataka BJP has pointed out how the Karnataka chief minister, D.K. Shivakumar,
04:02was allegedly insulted during the rally yesterday.
04:04But don't you think it was merely a chaotic moment where Rahul Gandhi was just trying to manage the crowd
04:10and that is how this unfolded?
04:13Do you think it was intentional?
04:16Anjali, everybody knows the entire crowd in any Congress rally is probably paid up people
04:22because I don't think common man will ever give up even a minute of their precious time
04:27to rally behind Rahul Gandhi because they know his incompetence of losing 100 elections in a row.
04:32So, be that as it may.
04:34Now, if you tell me that Rahul Gandhi will not be aware that he has a Congress sitting CM with
04:41him
04:42taking part in the rally and he pushes him saying it was a chaotic moment,
04:46see, we are, instead of, see, he may be the Congress chief minister,
04:50but he is the chief minister of the state of Karnataka.
04:53So, therefore, as a citizen of Karnataka, the chief minister has to be accorded the highest respect,
04:59like what we demand for the prime minister across the country
05:02and when Rahul Gandhi defames India abroad,
05:05we tell boss you have to look outside of the party and stand up as a nation.
05:10Here, for a pride of the state, the CM can't be insulted and pushed away like probably,
05:17what do you say, a gun, whatever the past of the CM may be,
05:21but he can't be pushed away like this as if he was trying to intrude.
05:24So, therefore, the introspection has to be done by the Congress chief minister who had pushed
05:30Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar behind.
05:33It was the cadre which was walking alongside Rahul Gandhi,
05:37but not Rahul Gandhi who had, in fact, pushed him behind.
05:41You can give any explanation. The video is probably self-explanatory.
05:47And if you tell me that Rahul Gandhi will not be aware that they have power in three or four
05:51states
05:52and D.K. Shivkumar is apparently a self-confessed devotee of Rahul Gandhi.
05:58If Rahul Gandhi is not aware that sitting CM is walking alongside him,
06:02then you have to only judge his political acumen of Rahul Gandhi and indulging in this rally.
06:12I don't think it is a question of BJP versus Congress.
06:16It is the arrogant mindset of the Gandhi pariwar who will dictate terms to everybody in the Congress hierarchy,
06:24may it be sitting CM and people who have won elections on their own,
06:29but Rahul Gandhi doesn't care.
06:31All that he wants is looted money from the people of Karnataka to reach him,
06:36which R.K. Shukumar is obliging.
06:38Despite that, he is not even able to secure a spot alongside Rahul Gandhi to walk.
06:43This indicates the true mindset of the Gandhi family
06:47and how they treat party leaders, chief ministers, forget the workers.
06:53You can imagine what a normal career course I can go through in Congress
06:56if a sitting CM has to face this ignominy.
06:59Mr. Prashant, why not wait for D.K. Shukumar himself to speak about this issue
07:04and also is it justified to link this particular incident with the Karnataka pride?
07:11Anjala, I will tell you D.K. Shukumar's response.
07:13D.K. Shukumar will say, no, Rahul Gandhi, my leader, I am a devotee of him.
07:17He was not aware. I was walking and it happened at the moment.
07:19And all of us are a family. I have already met Rahul Gandhi.
07:22I was seated on the ground when he was sitting and feeding me biscuits.
07:27He will give all those explanations.
07:28But all that you have to look into is sitting Karnataka chief minister has been insulted
07:36and therefore it is an insult for all the Karnadigas.
07:40It is not about BJP and Congress.
07:43The chief minister represents the state and he's been insulted
07:46and he swallows the insult and says he will be at the feet of Rahul Gandhi.
07:50People of Karnataka are going to teach him a lesson in 2028 to say,
07:54you can stay at the feet of Rahul Gandhi, but Congress will be thrown out of power.
07:58All right, Mr. G.S. Prashant, thank you for joining us on the broadcast.
08:01So that was the BJP reaction, what they are calling as an insult
08:05to not just the chief minister of Karnataka,
08:07but also they are seeing it as an insult of the Karnadigas.
08:11And they are also questioning that why is Chief Minister D.K. Shukumar silent on this?
08:16Will he raise his voice against the Congress party,
08:20against Rahul Gandhi for pushing him behind?
08:22These are the visuals from yesterday during the march,
08:26the opposition march to the Supreme Court,
08:27in which you can see how D.K. Shukumar was ahead of Rahul Gandhi
08:30and after which he was then pulled back by the Cader,
08:33which was walking along with Rahul Gandhi.
08:35Now, what the BJP is saying is that why was the chief minister
08:38not made to walk beside Rahul Gandhi?
08:41Why was he pushed behind?
08:43And they are calling this as an insult of the Karnadigas as well.
