A controversy has erupted following the Mysuru Dasara celebrations in Karnataka after a video surfaced showing police personnel stopping ministers accompanying the Chief Minister from entering the event venue. The Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that the ministers were targeted and stopped because they belong to the Dalit community, further claiming that Home Minister G. Parameshwara was not invited to the celebrations. Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar stated that the incident was a protocol issue, explaining that he personally intervened to facilitate their entry. The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary to conduct an inquiry into the matter, review video footage, and submit a report for disciplinary action.
