00:08I'm in the company of Tony Milne from Advantech. Hi! Hi, good morning. Welcome.
00:14Can you explain maybe in a few words what your company is doing? Yes, Advantech is the company
00:21that created the first industrial computers and for the last 30 years we've been supplying
00:26computers to many kinds of industries and one of them is the power transmission business like we
00:33have here. Why is it important to be exhibitor here at the Paris Session 2022? We have here in the
00:41conference many people who are using our products or who want to use our products in the future.
00:47Most of the exhibitors here are potential customers or actual customers and many of the visitors here
00:54are people working in the utilities that are customers of our customers. So this is really
01:00the gathering place for this industry and we very much want to be a part of that. Maybe you can
01:06mention
01:06some highlights that you are presenting at this session. Yes, maybe I can go back four years ago,
01:13the last time we were at SeaGrey, we showed the first virtualized substation computing environment.
01:20At the time I was maybe a bit crazy to think that this would be interesting. But coming back here
01:26now
01:26four years later, this is a very hot subject. And so what we started then was really, I wouldn't say
01:34as a revolution, but because this revolution has already happened in the IT world. But for the power
01:39transmission, it really opened the door to what could be possible. So today we're showing this week,
01:45we're showing our first product that's really designed to support virtualized substations,
01:52which is a big theme here for automation, for protection and control, and also for telecommunications.
02:00More globally, how is it important to invest into the relationship with SeaGrey?
02:06Well, I'm based here in Europe. Taiwan is headquarters for Advantec and we're a global company.
02:12But certainly, as far as Europe is concerned, SeaGrey is the most important event for networking,
02:19for information sharing. And really, it's the principal event for this industry. So we want to be here.
02:27Thanks a lot. Thanks for coming by. It's a pleasure talking to you. Thank you very much.
02:31Thanks.
