00:08My guest didn't have a long journey to join us. I'm glad to receive the president of the French
00:14National Committee. Hi. Hi. You've been president for a year and a half now. How was your integration
00:22into this new world? And maybe tell us what's so special with the French Committee. First of all,
00:28Cigre is already in my family since many years. I've been spending my whole career in the T&D industry,
00:34supplying products and systems to utilities. So it has been really for me an honor and a pleasure to
00:40become the president of the French National Cigre. Now, the French National Cigre Committee
00:47has a drawback of being based in France, where the Cigre was actually created. So it is not as
00:53active as it should have been, and it's our target to make it much more active looking forward.
00:57So this is your main job now? Yes. Your vision is also about creating a mixture within the members.
01:06What are the main projects that you've been leading since your arrival? We've organized an interesting
01:13seminar in December 21, when we gathered the members of the French National Committee, the Cigre members.
01:20We talked about energy climate, energy transition due to the climate, and also how to address these changes
01:28by cross-functional approaches. So what we tried to bring to our members was the view how to build this
01:36cross-functional expertise in order to address those challenges. And looking forward at what we want to
01:41continue to do in the months and years to come. Talking about challenges, what are the main challenges
01:48that France is facing right now about energy transition? First of all, like many other countries,
01:57countries, there will be no energy transition without a very big reinforcement of the energy transmission
02:04networks. So the French transmission system operator has built already a number of scenarios. And within 2023,
02:14I think the final scenario should be selected. And for sure it will require a full alignment of all the
02:22actors of the T&D industry,
02:25not only in France, but across the world, I would say, to answer to this scenario.
02:30What are your expectations about this session?
02:34As always, it is at the very strength of Cigre to gather in the same form actors from so many
02:42different
02:42origins, the utilities, the vendors, the consulting engineers, the NGOs, all other bodies, so that we can
02:50exchange and contribute together to build better energy transition and ultimately a better humanity.
02:58Thanks a lot for coming by. Thank you.
