00:00The story begins with a guy named Yagami working hard at his desk job.
00:03He has been stuck working late, and his co-worker, Takahashi,
00:06apologizes because he is the reason Yagami has to stay at the office for so long.
00:10Yagami tells him not to worry about it.
00:12He explains that rookies like Takahashi are expected to make mistakes sometimes.
00:16What really matters is being able to learn from those mistakes
00:19and make sure they don't happen again.
00:21A little later, Takahashi suddenly receives a phone call from his girlfriend.
00:24When Yagami asks him about it, Takahashi initially says that it's nothing important.
00:28However, Yagami becomes curious and keeps asking him about it.
00:32Eventually, Takahashi admits that his girlfriend is calling because today is her birthday.
00:36It is also the first anniversary of the day they started dating.
00:39As soon as Yagami hears this,
00:41he immediately tells Takahashi to go home and spend the evening with his girlfriend.
00:45He tells him that he can handle the remaining work at the office himself.
00:48Takahashi is extremely grateful that Yagami is willing to help him out,
00:52so he thanks him before leaving.
00:53At the end of the day, Yagami finally finishes his work and heads home,
00:56but he unexpectedly runs into Takahashi and his girlfriend.
01:00Takahashi apologizes for how everything turned out,
01:02and his girlfriend also feels bad that Yagami had to stay behind because of them.
01:06As an apology, she offers Yagami some of the takeout they bought.
01:09Yagami happily accepts the food and thanks them for it.
01:12The three of them then start walking toward the bus stop together.
01:15However, Yagami starts feeling like a third wheel,
01:18so he begins thinking about making up some excuse
01:20so he can leave them alone and let them enjoy their evening together.
01:23But before he can come up with an excuse, a little boy runs into the middle of the street.
01:27Yagami immediately reacts without thinking.
01:29He rushes into the road to protect the child,
01:31but before he can get out of the way, he gets hit by the infamous truck con.
01:35As Yagami lies on the ground during his final moments,
01:37he looks up and sees Takahashi looking over him with tears in his eyes.
01:41Despite what has happened, Yagami doesn't regret his decision.
01:44The only thing that matters to him is that the child is safe,
01:47as his consciousness slowly begins to fade away.
01:49Yagami notices there are glowing bubbles drifting through the air.
01:52A few moments later, Yagami wakes up again.
01:54He looks at his body and is shocked to see that his skin has turned blue,
01:58before he can even understand what is happening.
02:00He notices several goblin children staring directly at him.
02:03That's when Yagami finally realizes the truth.
02:05He was hit by a truck, died, and somehow ended up being reincarnated in another world as a goblin.
02:10A month passes after Yagami arrives in this strange new world,
02:13and he slowly begins adapting to his new life.
02:16During this time, he learns some very unusual things about goblins.
02:19For one, goblins have an extremely high fertility rate.
02:22Female goblins can even give birth while they are still pregnant with another child.
02:26However, their lives are extremely short.
02:28They only live for around seven days.
02:30Yagami also learns that every goblin is born with a single unique skill.
02:34When a goblin dies, they can pass that skill down to someone they trust.
02:37However, there is an important limitation.
02:39No matter how many skills a goblin learns or inherits from others,
02:42they can only pass down the skill they were born with.
02:44Yagami's natural skill is called octogenarian.
02:47This skill gives him an incredibly long lifespan of 80 years,
02:50which is much longer than the normal lifespan of a goblin.
02:53So far, Yagami has already inherited more than 200 different skills from other goblins.
02:57Unfortunately, there is no way for him to pass most of those skills down to anyone else.
03:02The only skill he can pass on is his innate octogenarian skill.
03:05Because of this, Yagami feels that most of the skills he has collected are somewhat wasted,
03:09since he won't be able to pass them on when he eventually dies.
03:12Later, Yagami decides to explore the forests surrounding the goblin village.
03:16While walking around, he comes across an apple growing in the forest.
03:19So he digs in, and to his relief,
03:21his sense of taste is almost exactly the same as it was when he was human.
03:25However, there's still one problem.
03:26His romantic urges are three times stronger than those of a normal human.
03:30And even though he's quite popular with the goblin girls,
03:32he simply doesn't see them that way.
03:34As Yagami continues exploring the forest,
03:36he eventually notices a strange hollow area hidden among the trees.
03:40Curious about what might be inside,
03:41he enters the area and discovers something unexpected.
03:44An archfiend is sitting against a tree, barely clinging to life.
03:47Yagami immediately approaches the injured archfiend and uses his healing skill on him.
03:52The archfiend is surprised that a goblin is trying to help him.
03:54However, Yagami simply tells him not to talk
03:57because moving around and wasting energy won't help his wounds close.
04:00The archfiend tells Yagami that there is no point in trying to heal him
04:03because nobody is capable of healing his injuries.
04:06After hearing this, Yagami immediately stops using his healing skill.
04:09Instead, he asks the archfiend if there is any other way he can help,
04:13explaining that he has a large number of different skills.
04:16The archfiend becomes interested when he learns that Yagami has already collected 277 skills.
04:21He starts laughing and realizes that Yagami must be some kind of mutation.
04:25Because of his unusual ability to collect so many skills,
04:28the archfiend believes that Yagami may even be capable of inheriting skills from other races.
04:32The archfiend then asks Yagami if he would like to inherit one of his skills.
04:36Yagami immediately understands how important this offer is.
04:39He is offering him a skill that has been passed down through his family and lineage for generations.
04:44Yagami agrees to accept it.
04:45The archfiend begins the transfer process.
04:47And after a short while, a glowing red orb appears from his body.
04:51Yagami reaches out and absorbs the strange red orb.
04:53The moment he does, he learns the name of the skill.
04:56It's called Survival of the Fittest.
04:57However, Yagami has no idea what the skill actually does.
05:01The archfiend explains that monsters naturally obey those who are stronger than them.
05:05The Survival of the Fittest skill takes this natural instinct and makes it absolute.
05:08Anyone who is weaker than Yagami will be forced to recognize his strength and obey him.
05:13As the archfiend's life begins to fade away,
05:15he explains that any opponent Yagami defeats will eventually swear their loyalty to him.
05:19With that, the archfiend leaves the powerful skill in Yagami's hands
05:22and hopes that he will be able to master it.
05:24And then he finally passes away.
05:26It turns out that this archfiend was once a terrifying tyrant who ruled for hundreds of years.
05:31He had caused countless problems for the human world.
05:33So when news of his death eventually spread, humans everywhere celebrated.
05:37They believed that their greatest enemy was finally gone.
05:39However, they didn't realize that the archfiend's most powerful ability had not truly disappeared.
05:44Instead, it had been passed on.
05:46Not long after, Yagami returns to the goblin village
05:48only to see several goblins gathered around another goblin who is being heavily scolded.
05:53Apparently, this goblin had gone out and killed a human,
05:55which is considered a serious taboo among the goblins.
05:58The goblin tries to explain himself, saying that he didn't have a choice.
06:01He claims that the humans attacked him while he was gathering firewood, forcing him to defend himself.
06:06Before the situation can continue, another goblin suddenly runs into the village with some terrible news.
06:11The humans are attacking.
06:12The goblins immediately begin to panic.
06:14Even though goblins are born with skills, they aren't particularly strong or capable fighters.
06:19Yagami understands why everyone is so frightened,
06:21and isn't surprised that they immediately start thinking about running away.
06:25Some of the goblins begin discussing the possibility of escaping before the humans reach them.
06:29However, Yagami steps forward and tells everyone not to worry.
06:32He says that he will go and talk to the humans himself.
06:34Yagami then activates his Farsight skill to see what is approaching them.
06:38In the distance, he spots a group of knights rapidly making their way toward the village.
06:42Eventually, the knights arrive.
06:44Yagami steps forward and tries to speak with them calmly.
06:47He wants to explain what happened and hopefully settle the situation.
06:50But the knight captain isn't interested in listening to him.
06:52Instead, she immediately orders her knights to attack.
06:55Yagami manages to dodge their attacks for a while,
06:58but then he decides that there's no reason to keep avoiding their attacks.
07:01Yagami activates his Iron Body skill.
07:03His body immediately becomes incredibly tough,
07:05making the knight's swords completely useless against him.
07:08Yagami then begins fighting back.
07:10He uses his Stone Blast skill along with several of his other abilities,
07:13attacking the knights one after another.
07:15The knight commander is completely stunned.
07:17She can't believe that a mere goblin was able to defeat her knights so easily.
07:21After taking care of the attackers, Yagami walks over to the commander.
07:24Instead of attacking her too,
07:25he calmly tells her that he wants to discuss the proper punishment
07:28for the goblin who killed one of her men.
07:30Yagami suggests that the goblin who killed the knight should be placed in prison for seven days.
07:35Since goblins only live for about seven days,
07:37this would basically be a life sentence for him.
07:39The knight captain starts thinking about the suggestion,
07:42but before she can give her answer,
07:43several of the other knights speak up.
07:45They tell her that she shouldn't listen to a monster,
07:47and that there is no reason to accept a goblin's terms.
07:49However, something unexpected happens.
07:51Yagami's survival of the fittest skill suddenly activates.
07:54The moment it does,
07:55The knights begin falling under Yagami's control.
07:58Their natural instinct to obey someone stronger than them takes over,
08:01and they are no longer able to resist his commands.
08:03The knight captain has no idea why her knights suddenly started submitting to this goblin.
08:08She starts to find Yagami interesting,
08:09so she agrees to his proposal,
08:11but she adds one condition.
08:12The goblin must be placed in a prison cell outside the forest,
08:16where the people of the city will be able to see him as well.
08:18Yagami accepts her condition.
08:20After the agreement is made,
08:21she asks for his name.
08:22Yagami pauses, realizing that his old name would sound strange in this world,
08:26and that the goblins never gave him a new one.
08:28After thinking for a few seconds,
08:30he introduces himself as Akira.
08:31The knight captain introduces herself as Karen.
08:33She explains that she works as a public order inspector,
08:36and is responsible for maintaining order in the area.
08:39With everything settled,
08:40Karen and the other knights prepare to leave.
08:42The goblins are extremely relieved.
08:44They had been expecting the humans to attack their village,
08:46and possibly kill everyone.
08:48So they are happy that Akira managed to resolve the situation,
08:50without anyone else getting hurt.
08:52Some time later,
08:53the goblin who killed the knight is officially placed in prison.
08:56Akira visits him to apologize for how everything turned out.
08:59However, the goblin doesn't blame Akira for what happened.
09:02Instead, he understands why he made the decision.
09:04He knows that being placed in prison is probably the best outcome for everyone.
09:08So he tells Akira that he doesn't hold any grudge against him.
09:10The goblin spends his final hours inside the prison cell,
09:13while watching the other goblins outside.
09:15He watches them play, dance,
09:17and enjoy themselves while he remains locked away.
09:19Eventually, a few hours pass,
09:21and the goblin grows old before finally passing away.
09:23Karen sees that the punishment has been completed,
09:26and simply walks away,
09:27saying that their agreement has been fulfilled.
09:29Meanwhile, the other goblins mourn the death of their fellow villager.
09:32Later on, Karen meets with Akira again.
09:34However, she immediately notices he is wearing completely different clothes.
09:38So he explains that after everything that happened,
09:40the villagers decided to make him their new mayor.
09:42Karen puts that matter aside,
09:44and reminds Akira that he did keep his side of the agreement.
09:46The goblin was imprisoned until he died,
09:49just as they had agreed.
09:50Unfortunately, there is still a problem.
09:52Karen explains that keeping the goblin in prison wasn't enough to satisfy her superior.
09:56Her boss still wants the entire goblin village to be wiped out.
09:59This means that even though Akira kept his promise,
10:01the village is still in serious danger.
10:03Karen tells him that this is exactly why she wants him to come with her.
10:07Since Akira is now the mayor of the goblin village,
10:09she wants him to meet her superior personally,
10:11and try to convince him to change his mind.
10:13Karen also has a feeling that her boss may be willing to reconsider once he meets Akira face to face.
10:18Akira understands how serious the situation is.
10:21If he fails to convince Karen's boss,
10:23the entire goblin village could be placed in a crisis.
10:25However, worrying about it won't solve anything.
10:28So he agrees to go with Karen and meet her superior.
10:30Later, under the cover of night,
10:32a hooded girl uses a target search skill to detect the survival of the fittest skill nearby.
10:37As her skill picks up a reaction,
10:38she gets excited that her master is still alive and decides to join him as soon as possible.
10:43The next day, Akira arrives at the human city with Karen.
10:46Though he feels embarrassed as the curious townsfolk stare at him,
10:49Karen tells him not to mind their stares,
10:51especially since humans fear strange monsters and stay away from them.
10:54However, he also notes that some people find him cute.
10:57Karen explains that goblins used to be kept as pets since they're usually cute and harmless,
11:02but people stopped doing it because they died too quickly.
11:04Later, they arrive at Count Ophiukis' mansion to discuss things.
11:08Although Akira is impressed by the beautiful mansion,
11:10he excuses himself to use the restroom.
11:12Akira feels quite annoyed by the toilet's size and gets lost on the way back.
11:16Along the way, he finds an old man tending to a tree.
11:19Surprised, the man wonders if Akira was kidnapped and brought as a pet.
11:22He explains that he came here to talk about the goblin who killed a human.
11:25At first, the man wonders if Akira is the criminal,
11:28but he explains he's only here to negotiate on behalf of his people.
11:31The old man doesn't seem too impressed,
11:33as he thinks that Akira is only here to protect his own people.
11:36To his surprise, Akira reminds him that both humans and goblins can make mistakes,
11:40but they should all be forgiven if they repent of it.
11:42The old man grows silent at his words before asking why he came to his garden.
11:47Hearing this, Akira admits that he got lost because the mansion was too huge.
11:50He also complains that the toilet was too big, which causes the old man to laugh loudly.
11:55Akira is shocked by his reaction and reminds the old man
11:58that the Count would get offended if he heard his laughter.
12:00Suddenly, Karen rushes over and asks the Count where he had been.
12:03Akira wonders who she's talking to, since he doesn't realize that the old man himself is the Count.
12:08Then, Karen finally tells him that the old man he's been gossiping with
12:11is the uncle of the current Emperor, Count Ophiukas himself.
12:15Shocked, Akira wonders if the old man tricked him with his ordinary appearance
12:18just to hear his true thoughts.
12:20Ophiukas explains that gardening is just a hobby for him,
12:23so he wasn't trying to trick anyone.
12:24Then, he tells Akira to forget about the incident and hang out with him alone.
12:28Akira wonders where they're going,
12:29so the Count mysteriously claims that they're headed to his private flower garden.
12:33Soon, he takes Akira to his private bar,
12:35where both of them receive the attention of his women.
12:37Akira isn't too impressed by the Count's high-class degeneracy,
12:41but the old man thinks it's completely normal for a man to be surrounded by women.
12:44Then, he also tells Akira to address him by his first name,
12:47before explaining that he wanted to see his true nature.
12:50Curious, Akira wonders how he plans on doing that,
12:52so Ophiukas tells him that they'll gamble together.
12:55Hearing this, Akira admits that gambling can easily reveal a person's true nature.
12:59Depending on their strategy,
13:00their opponent can easily figure out how the person behaves in other situations.
13:04Sitting in front of him,
13:05Ophiukas asks Akira about his method for getting to know people.
13:08After thinking about it,
13:09Akira tells him that he watches people fail to learn more about them.
13:12In his mind,
13:13a person shows their true colors when they're dealing with failure.
13:16Whether they repeat the same mistakes or learn from them,
13:19this tells Akira the kind of person they are.
13:21Hearing his words,
13:22Ophiukas falls silent before admitting that his words are wise.
13:25Then, he asks Akira to drop the serious topic and enjoy some drinks instead.
13:29In the count's mind, Akira only has seven days of lifespan,
13:32so he thinks he should enjoy life to the fullest.
13:34However, when Akira explains that his skill allows him to live for 80 years,
13:38the count and his women all fall silent.
13:40Seeing their reactions,
13:41Akira wonders if he said something wrong,
13:43but suddenly,
13:44Ophiukas laughs and declares Akira his brother in arms.
13:47The next morning,
13:48as both of them walk out of the club,
13:49Akira hears the commotion of a rampaging horse.
13:52As the horse rages on,
13:53he realizes a small boy is playing nearby.
13:56Without considering his own safety,
13:57Akira rushes towards the innocent boy and protects him with a stone wall skill.
14:01Everyone watches,
14:02stunned,
14:03as the wall stops the horse in its tracks,
14:05and the young boy is safe.
14:06After the boy's mother thanks Akira,
14:08Ophiukas also praises him for his good deed.
14:10As thanks for his heroic act,
14:12Ophiukas promises to treat his goblin village with the same rights as a human one.
14:16Akira thanks him,
14:16but the count reminds him that he still needs to keep appearances,
14:19so he'll send Karen as an overseer for a while.
14:22This is no problem for Akira,
14:23who thanks him and leaves to inform his village.
14:25After he leaves,
14:26Ophiukas's warm tone turns cold,
14:28and he asks someone in the shadows if they were listening.
14:31The shadow responds yes,
14:32so he tells him to keep a close eye on Akira.
14:34In the count's mind,
14:35a goblin with hundreds of skills who can live for 80 years
14:38is far more dangerous than the archfiend himself.
14:40Once Akira returns to the village,
14:42he explains everything to the goblins while Karen watches them from the side.
14:46Back at the count's mansion,
14:47Ophiukas asked her to keep watch on Akira for him.
14:49She agreed,
14:50knowing that her open presence would give perfect cover to the hidden watcher.
14:53Soon, she walks out, wondering what Akira is telling the goblins.
14:57At first, the goblins get scared of her,
14:59so Akira introduces her as a friend.
15:01However, Karen's ego doesn't allow her to be friends with goblins,
15:04so she claims she's only their inspector.
15:06Her reaction only causes the goblins to get even more scared,
15:09so Karen speaks in a softer tone.
15:11Finally, the scared goblins relax and get closer to her.
15:14Behind her, Akira explains that he's forming a defense squad to protect his tribe.
15:18Karen wonders what the point of that is,
15:20since the goblins are just going to die in seven days and forget their duties.
15:24Hearing this, Akira explains that he has a method to deal with this.
15:27First, he picks a goblin with an attacking skill and names him Hanzo after a Japanese general.
15:32Hanzo happily accepts the name.
15:33So Akira explains that once he dies,
15:35he will pass his skill to another attacking goblin and name him Hanzo II.
15:39This way, he can pass down the right skills and duties to goblins with the same name,
15:43keeping things organized.
15:44After Hanzo, Akira asks the goblins if any of them have an appraisal skill.
15:48He picks one of them and names her Kinokuniya, with the duty to deal with humans.
15:52As Karen watches, Akira explains his desire to make the goblin tribe an organized force,
15:57which causes her to get worried about their threat.
15:59Two weeks later, a successor Hanzo calls Akira after capturing an attacking human.
16:03Akira dismisses him, and Karen walks up to him.
16:06Curious about his actions, she asks about the progress with his lineage system plan.
16:10So Akira tells her things are going smoothly.
16:12Still, it will take some time until his system can produce a perfect goblin for a role.
16:16For now, he shows her the wounds on the human's body,
16:19which prove that Hanzo attacked the human with different skills.
16:22In the past, the goblins only passed their skills at random.
16:25So many goblins would be stuck with useless skills they never needed.
16:28Usually, in the human world, people pick skills and jobs that are helpful for their talent or
16:33goals to help them progress easily.
16:35However, goblins never had this luxury since they all die in seven days.
16:39Still, Akira thinks it's a waste for goblins to give opposing skills to other goblins who
16:43don't even need them.
16:44With his lineage system, he hopes that attack-type goblins can all pass their skills down to the
16:48Hanzo name, creating a fearsome attacking machine later on.
16:51Hearing his words, Karen openly admits that the goblins will become a huge threat with
16:55his genetic engineering.
16:56To ease her worries, Akira promises that goblins won't attack humans as long as he's alive.
17:01At his promise, she laughs before asking him if he has made any laws for the goblin village.
17:05Akira tells her that he isn't finished with the laws yet, so it will take some time to submit
17:10them.
17:10She wonders why he promised to make them in the first place.
17:12Akira explains that since Ofukis allowed his village to gain independence, he must prove
17:17to him that goblins can be civilized as well.
17:19Hearing this, she understands his reasons, but then she asks if he's going to make any
17:23self-defense laws.
17:24In the past, when the goblin killed a human, Akira never tried to claim it was self-defense,
17:28even though the human had attacked first.
17:30He tells her that since goblins are weaker than humans, he needed to compromise to protect
17:34them.
17:35Had he claimed self-defense back then, Akira wonders how Karen would have reacted.
17:38She tells him that she would never have listened, and he nods, knowing this would have happened.
17:43Because of this, he punished the goblin with a life sentence to appease her wrath, even
17:46though he hadn't done anything wrong.
17:48After hearing everything, Karen admits that Akira's reasoning is good, but she also wonders
17:52why he's trusting her with all this information.
17:55After all, if she reported him as an intelligent threat, it could easily get him and his tribe
17:59wiped out from the planet.
18:00Suddenly, a scout goblin rushes over with the news that their village is under attack.
18:04Back at the village, as ordinary goblins run away from the threat, Hanzo surrounds the
18:08attacker with his clone spell.
18:10She easily breaks the clones and knocks him away before preparing to kill him.
18:13Thankfully, Akira stops her just in time.
18:16He introduces himself as the goblin chief and asks her to negotiate.
18:19So the girl asks him what happened to the archfiend.
18:21Before Akira can answer, Karen tells the girl that the archfiend is dead.
18:25Shocked, she accuses Karen of lying, since her detection skill can still sense her master's
18:30skill.
18:30To prove it, she uses the skill in front of them, but it only points to Akira in front of
18:34her.
18:34Seeing this, the girl goes crazy and thinks he killed the archfiend to steal his skill.
18:38As the girl starts attacking, Akira dodges her and asks her to calm down.
18:42He tries to restrain her with a chain skill, but she's too powerful and struggles free.
18:46Seeing this, Akira uses a reflect skill to damage her with her own power.
18:50This allows him to knock her down and finally restrict her on the ground.
18:54Once captured, he asks the girl if her master was weak enough to get killed by a goblin.
18:58She denies it, claiming that he was the strongest person ever.
19:01Then, Akira asks her if the archfiend was stupid enough to get tricked and have his skill stolen.
19:05The girl shakes her head again so Akira thinks she has enough proof that he didn't kill the
19:09archfiend.
19:10Finally, he uses a skill to replay the archfiend's final words, which finally wins her trust over.
19:15Akira explains that the archfiend picked him as his skill's inheritor.
19:19So the girl breaks down in tears, realizing that her master is truly dead.
19:23Behind them, Karen narrows her eyes as she learns yet another dangerous fact about Akira.
19:27Later, at night, as Ofukis learns about Akira's archfiend skill, he gets extremely worried.
19:32Along with Akira's long lifespan and multitude of skills, he thinks this goblin can easily
19:36wipe out humanity.
19:38The next day, Akira is in his office when Karen walks in with the archfiend girl, and he is
19:42delighted to see how cute she looks now.
19:44Echigoya takes credit for her new outfit, explaining that he made the fabric using the
19:48yarn spin skill he had acquired.
19:50Akira asks the girl for her name, and she introduces herself as Chloe.
19:53She then asks him why he insists on dressing her up like this.
19:56Akira explains that she is cute, so leaving her in the tattered clothes she wore before
20:01would have been a waste.
20:02Chloe becomes flustered when he calls her cute, realizing that her appearance makes Akira
20:06happy.
20:06She quickly runs off with Echigoya and asks him to make even more clothes for her.
20:10After Chloe leaves, Akira compliments Karen on her appearance as well, but she simply tells
20:15him to stop.
20:15She then asks whether Echigoya really made the fabric himself because its quality is outstanding.
20:20Akira confirms that he did and explains that he can even teach humans how to make the
20:24same kind of fabric.
20:25Karen then turns to a much more important question.
20:28She asks Akira whether he intends to become the next Archfiend.
20:31However, Akira makes it clear that he has no intention of doing so.
20:34He explains that the previous Archfiend made a serious mistake by using his skills only for
20:39himself and the other monsters.
20:40After investigating the matter, Akira discovered that the Archfiend had kept the power he gained
20:44to himself and used it against humanity.
20:46Akira doesn't want to repeat that mistake.
20:48Instead of keeping his abilities to himself, he intends to share what he has learned with others.
20:52Teaching humans how to produce the special fabric is one example of how he plans to use his
20:57knowledge to help people rather than turn his power against them.
21:00Later that night, another goblin passes away, allowing Akira to inherit her healing skill.
21:05A funeral party is held afterward, giving everyone a chance to mourn her death through fun and
21:09games.
21:10As Akira reflects on the healing skill he has inherited, he realizes that the skill itself isn't
21:14particularly useful to him.
21:16By this point, he has already acquired more than 300 skills, and many of them seem to overlap or
21:21perform similar functions.
21:22With so many abilities at his disposal, gaining another skill that does something he can already
21:27accomplish feels rather redundant.
21:28This is also one of the reasons Akira created the lineage system.
21:31Rather than allowing every new skill to go to him, he wants to find a better way to distribute
21:36abilities among the people who can actually benefit from them.
21:38Akira remembers standing beside the goblin's deathbed when she insisted that he inherit her skill.
21:43Since she wanted him to receive it, he honored her wish.
21:46However, looking back on the situation, he realizes that it would have made more sense for someone
21:50else to inherit the healing ability, especially if that person had a greater need for it.
21:54Just then, Chloe walks in, and Akira immediately compliments her new outfit.
21:58His words leave her feeling a little flustered, but she soon becomes serious and asks him how
22:03many days he has left to live.
22:04Akira explains that he has a skill called Octogenarian, which allows him to live for up to 80 years.
22:09Unlike ordinary goblins, Chloe is shocked to hear this because she has never encountered a skill
22:14like that before.
22:15She then wonders whether Octogenarian is a unique skill, similar to the Archfiend's survival of
22:20the fittest ability.
22:21Akira is surprised by her question because he didn't even know that unique skills existed.
22:25Curious about his own abilities, he asks Chloe whether he might have a unique skill as well.
22:29Chloe explains that she possesses some rare skills, but none of them are unique.
22:33Her rare abilities are called Skill Search and Farsight.
22:36When Akira hears this, he tells her that he also has the Farsight skill.
22:40The two decide to test their abilities together, focusing their eyes on an owl sitting far away.
22:44However, something unexpected happens just as they activate their skills.
22:48Both of them suddenly feel a strange jolt, and a notification appears, informing them that they
22:52have unlocked a new skill called Horizon Sight.
22:55Chloe immediately tests the new ability and discovers that she can now see 10 times farther
22:59than before.
23:00Akira, however, finds himself unable to use either Horizon Sight or Farsight anymore.
23:05This leaves him wondering whether his skill and Chloe's skill somehow combined and evolved
23:09into a much more powerful ability.
23:11As he thinks about what just happened, Akira finally begins to understand how overlapping skills
23:16can be used. Instead of simply collecting abilities that perform similar functions,
23:20he may be able to combine those abilities and evolve them into something much stronger.
23:24This discovery gives him a new way to make use of the many skills he has accumulated.
23:28With this realization, Akira decides to put his theory into practice.
23:31He transfers his Shadow Clone skill to Hanzo, hoping that it will allow him to unlock an advanced
23:36version of the ability.
23:37His plan works, and Hanzo gains an improved Shadow Clone skill that makes every clone appear
23:42completely real.
23:43This development makes Hanzo much more dangerous in battle.
23:45Normally, when someone fights against Shadow Clones, the goal is to identify and defeat the
23:50original. However, Chloe realizes that Hanzo's upgraded ability could change that strategy
23:54completely. Since the clones now appear entirely real, an opponent might have to defeat every
23:59single clone instead of simply finding the original.
24:01The other goblins are amazed by Hanzo's new ability and decide to throw a party to celebrate
24:06his achievement. However, Hanzo isn't particularly interested in celebrating. Instead, he approaches
24:11Chloe and asks her for another rematch. Chloe accepts, and the two immediately begin fighting
24:15again, giving everyone else an entertaining match to watch. Meanwhile, Karen is impressed
24:19by Akira's discovery. She recognizes that being able to evolve skills could be extremely useful,
24:24especially when it comes to improving the abilities of those around him. However, she isn't
24:28convinced that the technique will be equally useful to everyone. Akira explains that it isn't
24:33limited to goblins, pointing out that Chloe was the first successful case. Hearing this,
24:37Karen suspects that its benefits might only apply to monsters and demons. Akira admits
24:41that Karen could be right, but he also has a theory of his own. Although he has no real
24:45evidence to support it yet, he feels that his arrival in this world might not have been entirely
24:50random. He wonders whether he was chosen in a way similar to an online search engine, narrowing
24:54down a list of candidates until it finds the most suitable person. The fact that he can combine
24:59overlapping skills and evolve them into stronger abilities only makes this theory seem more convincing
25:04to him. However, before Akira can think any further about his theory, a goblin suddenly cries
25:08out nearby. The commotion draws everyone's attention, and they soon discover that a group
25:12of adventurers has arrived and started causing trouble. The female goblin quickly explains what
25:17happened to Akira. According to her, the adventurers suddenly attacked her without warning,
25:21and she would have been in serious danger if Hanzo hadn't stepped in to protect her.
25:25Hanzo is getting beaten up, so Akira tells the adventurers to stop fighting and asks them why they
25:30are attacking in the first place. The arrogant adventurer in charge explains that he doesn't
25:34need a reason to attack monsters. He then reveals that their main target is Chloe because she was
25:38once part of the Archfiend's forces. Even though she hasn't harmed anyone, they believe she will
25:43eventually become dangerous, so they want to eliminate her before that happens. He also offers
25:47Akira a deal, saying they will leave the goblins alone if he hands Chloe over peacefully. Akira tries
25:52to settle the matter by following the proper procedures. He explains that the adventurers are violating
25:57the autonomous policies that protect the goblins' right to govern themselves. However, the adventurers
26:02simply laugh at him and claim they can do whatever they want. Realizing that he has done everything
26:06correctly, Akira returns to Hanzo and tells him he can fight seriously now. Hanzo activates his shadow
26:11clones and quickly defeats the entire group, leaving them all tied to a tree. Afterward, Karen points out
26:17that a single goblin has defeated an entire group of powerful adventurers. If the humans hear about this,
26:22they might become concerned about the goblins' growing military strength. Akira understands her
26:26concern, but he also thinks making the humans fear them a little could be useful. If they realize
26:30how dangerous the goblins have become, they might think twice before attacking them again.
26:34Akira then comes up with a plan to arrange a meeting with the Margrave. He asks Echigoya to
26:39prepare elegant outfits for Hanzo and Chloe, hoping to improve how the humans see them. The next day,
26:44the two ride through town on horseback, attracting the attention of everyone watching them. Their
26:48beautiful clothes make them look surprisingly charming, and many people begin seeing them differently.
26:53However, one man warns the crowd not to be fooled because they are still monsters. He then throws
26:58a stone at Chloe, but Hanzo quickly catches it. Chloe takes the opportunity to act like a frightened
27:02princess, making the crowd sympathize with her and condemn the man for attacking such a sweet girl.
27:07Watching everything from the shadows, Akira realizes his plan is working. They soon arrive
27:11at the Margrave's mansion and meet Simon. During their conversation, Chloe notices a tag attached to a
27:16bird's leg, prompting Simon to explain a game called Warbling. The game has become popular among
27:21upper-class ladies, and it involves releasing trained birds to see which one reaches a particular
27:26branch first. Simon reveals that a widow he knows requested competitive warblers, which is why he is
27:31training the birds. Akira eventually plays a round against Simon, with both men betting on which bird
27:36will reach the branch first. Simon says that if he wins, he wants Echigoya to make beautiful outfits
27:41for the girls because he has heard about his sewing skills. In exchange, Simon promises to do his best to
27:46prevent the humans from coming after Chloe again if Akira wins. The game begins, and the two birds
27:51fly toward the branch after Akira places his bet. Unfortunately, Simon's bird reaches it first,
27:56meaning Akira loses. However, Chloe uses her horizon-side ability and realizes that Simon cheated.
28:02She is about to expose him, but Akira stops her and accepts the loss anyway. Later, Simon meets with
28:07Karen and explains that his superiors have requested a report on the Goblin's danger level. He reveals that
28:12he tested Akira through their gambling match. Karen asks about his findings, and Simon explains that
28:17Akira remained calm and accepted his defeat without causing trouble. Because of this, he decides to
28:22report that the Goblins pose a low level of danger. Nevertheless, Simon still believes Akira could be
28:27dangerous. He remembers that Akira knew about the cheating but chose not to make a scene. This convinces
28:31Simon that Akira is far more capable than an ordinary Goblin. Before leaving, he gives Karen the Goblin
28:36Slayer Sword to keep safe in case they need it against Akira in the future. Karen agrees to hold on
28:41to it
28:41until the right moment arrives. Late the following day, a knight attempts to sneak into the Goblin
28:46Village. Akira quickly notices him and uses his Dark Blaze skill to overpower him. Afterward,
28:51his survival of the fittest skill takes effect, forcing the knight to agree that he will never
28:55launch another preemptive attack against the Goblins. Karen witnesses the incident and begins
28:59to suspect that Akira has inherited the Archfiend's survival of the fittest skill. This worries her
29:04because she fears she could fall under Akira's mind control if she cannot use the Goblin Slayer Sword to
29:09kill him. The thought makes her increasingly cautious about his growing power. Things become
29:13even more concerning when Akira discovers that he can inherit evolved skills. This means his abilities
29:18can continue developing, allowing him to become stronger than before, which only makes Karen even
29:23more wary. Later that night, Karen arrives at Akira's office, but this time, she has a cold and serious
29:28expression on her face. Akira wonders what she wants, but before he can get an answer, Karen suddenly
29:33undresses herself and prepares to pounce on him. With Karen leaning over him, Akira begins to wonder
29:38whether she is trying to seduce him. However, what he doesn't realize is that she has a knife ready
29:43and is actually planning to kill him. Despite having the perfect opportunity, Karen simply can't
29:47bring herself to go through with it. She eventually gets off him, and Akira uses his yarnspin skill to
29:52create a blanket for her to cover herself with. Akira has no idea what Karen was planning, but he still
29:57goes on to tell her that this kind of seduction won't work on him. He explains that genuine Goblins
30:01aren't attracted to humans, meaning that her attempts to seduce him are pointless. Hearing this catches
30:06Karen completely off guard, and she is left speechless for a moment. Without saying another
30:10word, she turns around and walks away. After Karen leaves, Akira remains clueless about why she was
30:15behaving so strangely. However, he decides that it's probably best not to waste his time thinking
30:20about it and simply moves on. Meanwhile, Karen runs through the village wearing nothing but the
30:24blanket Akira gave her. As she passes the other Goblins, they can't help looking at her. She eventually
30:29runs into another Goblin deeper in the woods, who is equally surprised to see her walking around
30:34without any clothes. However, before Karen can even explain what happened, the Goblin simply
30:38assumes that today must be laundry day. He then casually tells her that he'll ask Echigoya to make
30:43some new clothes for her before heading off. Karen is left completely stunned by his reaction,
30:47as the Goblin doesn't seem to care at all that she is naked. As she thinks about everything that
30:51has happened, Karen realizes that she wouldn't have ended up in such an embarrassing situation if it
30:56weren't for the Margrave's plan. He was the one who ordered her to seduce Akira before killing him,
31:00believing that she could easily carry out the mission. However, she had no idea that Goblins
31:04weren't attracted to humans, which made the seduction plan completely useless from the start.
31:09On top of that, Karen knows deep down that she simply doesn't have the heart to kill Akira,
31:13making her mission even more difficult. But then, all of a sudden, a mysterious cloaked figure
31:17suddenly appears beside her. Later, Akira comes across the blanket Karen had been using,
31:22only to discover that it is covered in blood. Seeing this immediately makes him wonder whether
31:26Karen is alright and what could have happened to her. However, as he investigates the area,
31:30he begins sensing that something is wrong, realizing that danger is nearby. He quickly warns
31:34a Goblin standing close to him to run away before it's too late. Just then, the mysterious hooded
31:39figure appears, holding a badly beaten Karen in his hands. Without warning, he drops her from the
31:43tree he is standing on. Fortunately, Akira reacts quickly enough to catch her before she hits the
31:48ground. While Akira checks on Karen to see how badly she has been hurt, the hooded attacker suddenly
31:53appears behind him and stabs him, believing that he has successfully killed his target. The assassin
31:58smirks. However, he soon discovers that he has been tricked, as the Akira he stabbed was nothing
32:02more than a shadow clone. The real Akira then appears from behind and catches the assassin off
32:07guard, knocking him unconscious with a stone. With the attacker finally dealt with, Akira notices the
32:12assassin's blade lying on the ground. Curious about the weapon, he moves closer to examine it. However,
32:17the moment he approaches, he suddenly feels an overwhelming sense of danger, as though simply touching
32:21the blade could cost him his life. Seeing his reaction, Karen explains that the weapon is known as the
32:26Goblin Slayer. It is a special blade created for the sole purpose of killing goblins, making it
32:31extremely dangerous to anyone of their kind. Even the smallest scratch from the weapon could be
32:35enough to kill a goblin. Later, Akira meets with Karen in his office and begins wondering whether
32:40Simon will continue seeing him as a threat no matter what he does. Karen is shocked by his words because
32:45they reveal that Akira already knew Simon had been trying to assassinate him. However, Akira explains that
32:50he only had a vague idea of what was going on. Even so, Akira doesn't completely blame Simon for his
32:55behavior. He understands that it's natural for someone to be cautious around a powerful outsider
33:00who suddenly appears in their territory. What he doesn't understand, however, is why Simon keeps
33:04going about things in such a roundabout way instead of simply being honest with him. Karen agrees with
33:09Akira, realizing that Simon has been using indirect methods to deal with him from the beginning.
33:13After thinking about it, Akira decides that the best way to understand the situation is to speak
33:18with Simon directly. Shortly afterward, Akira and Karen go to meet Simon. The moment Simon sees
33:23Akira standing before him, he assumes that Akira has come to take revenge for the assassination
33:27attempts against him. However, Akira quickly clarifies that he isn't there to fight or punish him.
33:32Instead, he simply wants to hear Simon's explanation and understand why he refuses to deal with things
33:37in a straightforward manner. Simon then begins explaining the history of the goblin race and how
33:42incredibly adaptable the species can be. He reveals that around 50 years ago, humans nearly wiped out the
33:47entire goblin population over something relatively trivial. In fact, approximately 99% of all goblins
33:53were slaughtered, leaving only a single goblin alive. Faced with the possibility of his entire
33:57species disappearing forever, that last surviving goblin underwent a powerful evolution. In order to
34:03ensure the survival of future goblins, he gained three extraordinary skills that would change the fate
34:07of the entire race. The first skill was immortality, meaning that he could no longer die. The second skill
34:13was Parthenogenesis, which allowed him to produce hundreds of new goblins at the cost of his own
34:17life. Finally, the third skill gave him the ability to use every skill that any goblin had ever
34:22possessed. With these three abilities, the last surviving goblin became an incredibly dangerous
34:27existence. He eventually went on to slaughter tens of thousands of humans, demonstrating just how
34:31terrifying a goblin could become when pushed to its limits. After witnessing the destruction caused by
34:36that single goblin, humans became much more cautious about attacking goblin settlements. They realized that if
34:42they ever tried to wipe out an entire settlement again, they might accidentally push another goblin
34:46into undergoing a similar evolution. This is precisely why they are so wary of Akira. Akira
34:51comes up with a solution. All he needs to do is make himself more valuable to the humans than
34:55threatening. However, Simon has no idea what Akira means by that. So Akira starts by asking him whether
35:00there are any powerful leaders who seek immortality. Simon confirms that there are, so Akira decides to
35:06demonstrate his abilities. He kills a warbler and then brings it back to life using his great heal skill.
35:10However, the warbler is still a little angry about being killed, so it ends up pooping on Akira's face
35:16after demonstrating his ability. Akira explains to Simon that if they can get along well, he will
35:20become a lifeline for the humans whenever they need his help. Simon agrees that Akira's healing ability
35:25is more than enough to make up for any threats the humans might feel from him. However, he doesn't make
35:30a final decision right away and simply says that he will think about the proposal. Later, when Karen
35:34speaks with Simon privately, she asks him whether he intends to accept Akira's proposal. After thinking
35:39about it, Simon decides that this time, he is going to put his trust in Akira. The next day,
35:44our guy returns to ask Simon whether he managed to convince the higher-ups, but instead, he ends up
35:49meeting Albert, the kingdom's third prince, who is happy to finally meet Akira in person. During their
35:53conversation, Akira learns that Albert was the one who defeated the Archfiend. Surprised by this
35:58revelation, Akira asks him how he managed to accomplish such a difficult task. Albert explains that he
36:03succeeded thanks to his special skill, known as Eighth Times the Charm. After hearing the name of the
36:08skill, Akira quickly assumes that it allows Albert to undo his mistakes up to seven times before
36:13getting things right. He figures that this must have been how Albert managed to overcome the
36:17Archfiend's survival of the fittest skill. Albert is surprised that Akira manages to figure out how
36:22his ability works so quickly. However, since he wants to keep the details of his skill a secret,
36:27he decides to use it to rewind time and undo what just happened. Unfortunately for him, even after
36:32rewinding time, Akira still manages to figure out the truth about his ability. This leaves Albert deeply
36:37impressed by Akira's intelligence and ability to understand things so quickly. Later, they all sit
36:42down together for tea, and during their conversation, Akira discovers that Simon is actually Albert's
36:47great uncle. Putting that aside, Albert asks Akira whether he really intends to use his great heal
36:52skill to heal ordinary people without charging them anything. Akira admits that he has been considering
36:57whether to provide his healing services for free or charge people extremely high fees. Albert then
37:02suggests that he should charge exorbitant amounts of money instead, explaining that a monster healing
37:06members of another race without receiving any compensation would only make the humans more
37:11suspicious of him. However, deep down, Akira genuinely prefers to heal people for free because
37:15doing so would help him maintain his value in the eyes of the humans. After thinking about the
37:20situation, Albert comes up with a better solution. He suggests that Akira should heal the general public
37:25for free while collecting compensation from the nobility separately. Akira agrees with this arrangement,
37:30believing that it would allow him to achieve his goal without making the humans even more suspicious
37:34of him. Later, Albert and Simon have a private conversation, during which Albert immediately
37:38admits that after meeting Akira in person, he realizes that he would struggle to defeat him in
37:43a battle. In fact, Albert estimates that he would have only about a 50% chance of winning at best.
37:48Hearing this, Simon bursts into laughter and suggests that they should simply continue trusting Akira.
37:53Albert then asks whether trusting a goblin is really a wise decision, and Simon agrees that it is
37:58certainly a risky choice. However, despite the danger involved, Albert comes up with an even more
38:02surprising suggestion. He proposes that they should make Akira the kingdom's next Archfiend.
38:07Meanwhile, Akira is sitting by himself. Thinking about Albert's abilities, he realizes that Albert
38:12could be an extremely formidable opponent. So he decides that he needs to figure out what kind
38:16of ability allowed him to defeat the previous Archfiend. For now, Akira believes that the safest
38:21option is to avoid using his survival of the fittest skill on Albert. Since Albert managed to rewind
38:26time and erase his memory of the skill, Akira has no idea exactly how his ability works or what he
38:31might do
38:32next. While thinking about all this, Akira notices Chloe nearby and asks her what she is doing there.
38:37Chloe explains that she has been experiencing a strange feeling of nostalgia, as though something
38:41familiar is nearby. Hearing this gives Akira an idea. So he draws a picture of Albert in the sand and
38:47asks Chloe whether she recognizes the person in the drawing. The moment Chloe tells him that she
38:51doesn't recognize the person, Akira immediately realizes that Albert's ability must be responsible.
38:56Based on this discovery, he concludes that Albert's skill has something to do with undoing actions
39:00and changing what people remember or know about certain events. However, before Akira can
39:05investigate the matter any further, Chloe suddenly senses something nearby. It turns out that a group
39:10of bandits is preparing to attack several unconscious women. Fortunately, Chloe arrives just in time to
39:15stop them from carrying out their plan. Akira also steps in to help, and the moment the bandits see
39:20his dark flames, one of them immediately recognizes him and calls him the Goblin Lord. This surprises
39:25Akira because he had no idea that people were already referring to him by that name.
39:29Faced with Akira's terrifying power, the bandits quickly retreat, leaving the unconscious women
39:33behind. After the danger has passed, Chloe takes a closer look at the women and realizes that they
39:38are all her friends. Akira then brings the women back to the village so they can be examined and taken
39:43care of. Once they arrive, he asks Masamune, who is well known for her excellent cooking skills,
39:48to prepare some food for the injured guests. Masamune agrees to his request, and Akira goes to check on
39:53the women to see how they are doing. By the time he arrives, Dyke has already regained consciousness,
39:57and she immediately thanks Akira for saving all of them. She also refers to Akira as her master,
40:02because she believes that Chloe's willingness to stay by his side proves that he must be the
40:06successor to the previous Archfiend. Dyke then explains that elves like her and her sisters
40:11have extremely long lifespans. Because they live for so long, they eventually begin to lose their
40:15desire to live, and they become even less interested in reproducing. Over time, this condition develops
40:20into an illness, which is why she and her sisters have become so weak. However, the previous Archfiend
40:25gave them a direct order to live, and thanks to his survival of the fittest skill, their lack of
