00:10The serpent lunges at him with great speed and he barely manages to block the attack with his sword,
00:15coming out of the exchange unharmed. He soon gets an idea and tries jumping off the dungeon wall to
00:21strike the serpent with an amplified sword attack, but the serpent easily reads through the move and
00:26knocks him hard against the wall with one strong hit. Realizing how dangerous the fight has become,
00:32he decides that he needs to end things quickly, so he charges at the serpent head on with his sword,
00:37now charged with a bolt of lightning. Unfortunately, his sword shatters right in the middle of the attack,
00:43and the serpent takes the chance to regain the upper hand. As the serpent sinks its teeth deep
00:48into him, he desperately stabs at it again and again with his dagger, but none of his efforts
00:53seems to have any real effect on the creature. The serpent then slams him hard into the ground
00:58and begins to slowly swallow his body while he screams out in agony. With half his body already
01:04devoured, the serpent simply stares Seo down for a moment, preparing itself to take its final bite.
01:10Seo suddenly feels a surge of burning rage rise up inside him and declares that there is no way he
01:16is
01:16going to die like some kind of coward. He accepts that death is coming for him, but just before the
01:21serpent can finish him off completely. Time abruptly freezes around him, and he begins to hear a strange
01:27unknown voice calling out to him, mocking him and calling him a pathetic man. Seo hears the voice
01:33clearly and wonders where in the world it could be coming from, while the person behind the voice
01:38is genuinely shocked that Seo is somehow able to hear her at all. Seo explains that he has always been
01:44able to hear the voices of relics, and says he can tell she must be some kind of divine object,
01:50so he asks her to destroy the serpent monster and get him out of that place. The voice only laughs
01:55at
01:56him in response and reminds him that half of his body has already been eaten away, so even if she
02:01did get rid of the serpent for him, there is simply no way he would manage to survive anyway. She
02:07tells
02:07him that he truly is a pitiful case, because even though he was born with unmatched talent, he happened
02:12to be born in the wrong era and suffered greatly for it, and now he is going to die without
02:17ever having
02:18gotten the chance to fully use his clever and brilliant tricks. Hearing all of this only fills
02:23Seo with even greater anger than before. He is not entirely sure exactly how he is going to do it,
02:30but he swears with everything in him that he will kill a man named Kwon Tee-Joon no matter what
02:35it
02:35takes or how long it takes him. Seeing the depth of his determination and sensing his hidden potential,
02:41the voice suddenly takes physical shape in the form of a crow and appears right before Seo,
02:46telling him that she has decided to grant him a second chance at life. She says she is eager
02:52and curious to see whether he will finally be able to claim the throne of the king this time around.
02:57The crow then sends a powerful surge of energy flowing directly into Seo, and after it courses
03:03through his entire body for a while, he suddenly finds himself sitting inside what looks like a public
03:08building. He is left completely in shock as he slowly realizes that his legs have somehow been
03:14fully restored to normal. What shocks him even more is the discovery that he is currently sitting
03:19inside a police station. With absolutely no memory of how he ended up getting there in the first place,
03:25a police officer nearby informs him that they are currently in the middle of an ongoing investigation
03:31and asks him for his name. Seo sits quietly, too consumed by his own thoughts and too busy wondering
03:37whether being alive again was somehow the doing of that mysterious divine crow. Then Seo happens to
03:43overhear one of the other officers casually talking about how they have just entered the very start of
03:48the year 2025. And that revelation leaves Seo completely stunned, because that year was exactly 15 years before
03:56his own current time, which slowly leads him to conclude that he has somehow been sent back 15 years
04:02into the past. A woman then comes over to scold him for not answering her questions, but Seo cannot help
04:08but feel that he has seen her somewhere before. He recalls that she is the mother of the brown-haired
04:13boy
04:13sitting nearby named Yu, and that they are in the police station because they had been caught in a fight
04:19that Yu had
04:20clearly tried to start with Seo. Seo then thinks back to how he settled this same problem 15 years ago,
04:26and recalls that he was asked to pay an extremely large amount in damages. And since he was completely
04:32broke at the time, he simply got down on his knees and apologized to them. Yu's mother realizes that Seo
04:38is not listening to a single word she is saying, so she tries to slap him. But Seo quickly catches
04:44her hand
04:45and raises his voice at her, telling her that it was her son who started the fight in the first
04:49place,
04:50and also pointing out that they are demanding far too much money in settlement fees. Yu does not like
04:56the way Seo is speaking to his mother, so he immediately throws a punch. But Seo easily ducks
05:01the punch and flips him onto the floor. This leaves Seo shocked for a moment as he realizes that his
05:07body
05:08feels a lot lighter than it should be. This makes him wonder whether all the combat skills he built up
05:13over the past 15 years are still intact inside this younger body. If that turns out to be true,
05:19he realizes that he got extremely lucky. Seo eventually gets thrown into a holding cell
05:25for being aggressive, and the sound of Yu's mother nagging nearby is starting to get on his nerves.
05:30Still, he knows none of this is going to matter much longer once the relics begin to arrive.
05:35In the year 2025, major earthquakes struck various parts of the earth and several ancient tombs
05:42suddenly appeared. Relics featured in myths, legends and old folktales were found among them.
05:47Stories that had been passed down for generations turned out to hold real power,
05:51and those who came to possess these relics were granted various supernatural abilities.
05:56Because of this, everyone set out in search of relics. Seo joined the search back then as well,
06:02and he eventually stumbled upon what was known as the archaeologist's relic. At the time, Seo felt that
06:08gaining the knowledge of the tomb and its relics would put an end to his miserable life and let
06:13him start a new one. But that was exactly when the real madness began. Starting with Mr. Kwon,
06:18the biggest chairman in the entire city, many people who came into possession of relics took steps to
06:24make sure that no one but themselves could excavate any more of these relics. Fortunately, Seo's natural
06:30talent for finding relics was recognized, and he was scouted by Mr. Kwon himself. And from then on,
06:36he ended up taking on every dirty job that Mr. Kwon threw his way, resigning himself to being known
06:42as the chairman's dog and enduring every insult that came along with it. Sitting inside the cell,
06:48Seo realizes that it is only a matter of time before the relics begin to appear again,
06:53and everything around him fades into lawlessness. He figures it is a plus that he is now a lot stronger
06:58than before. But he also knows that strength alone is not going to be enough this time. He needs to
07:04raise capital for excavation as soon as possible, but he is not entirely sure how to go about it.
07:10A glowing line of text then suddenly appears in front of him, and Seo thinks at first that
07:15he might be losing his mind, but then he realizes that this has to be the work of a relic.
07:20He stands
07:20up and tries to summon the crow that brought him back to life, but instead a status screen appears in
07:26front of him and informs him that his new quest is to awaken the four talents of a tomb raider,
07:31and that catches him completely off guard. A guard walks past him and does not seem to notice the
07:37status screen at all, which tells Seo that he is the only one able to see it. Beyond that,
07:42he realizes that he is currently able to see objects within a radius of one meter around him,
07:47which was originally an ability tied to the archaeologist's relic, but since he no longer
07:52possesses that relic, he wonders why the ability still remains with him. Seo takes a closer look at his
07:58status screen and sees that he has already gained one out of the four talents, meaning he still has
08:04three more left to unlock. This leaves him with some relief, since it means he already has a bit of
08:10a head start, but he still cannot help but wonder why the crow relic is doing all of this for
08:15him.
08:15Detective Kim then arrives to bail Seo out, and once they step outside, Kim tells Seo that he is really
08:22unlucky, since Yu is apparently a repeat offender when it comes to baiting people into fights.
08:27As Kim laughs the whole thing off, Seo thinks quietly to himself and recalls that Detective Kim
08:33was the only person who ever stood by him back when he had absolutely nothing. They begin walking home
08:39together after that, and along the way, Seo asks Kim whether he has noticed any strange incidents lately,
08:45and judging by how confused Kim looks at the question, Seo can tell that relics do not yet
08:51exist in this version of the world. After they say their goodbyes, Seo walks off alone and realizes
08:57that this is exactly the point in time when tombs are just beginning to appear and there are still
09:02no relic users anywhere, which means now is his perfect chance to get ahead. He mentions that most of
09:08the early relics first appeared in Europe and the Americas. Still, Seo continues thinking of ways he can
09:15get his hands on some cash since he needs to buy plane tickets. As he turns down an alley,
09:20he runs straight into the gang he used to work for in his past life, and he smirks to himself,
09:26saying that he has just found his cash cow. Back in his past life, he had been so desperate for
09:31money
09:31that he ended up working for this very gang, and during that time he was treated worse than a dog.
09:37One of the gang members tried to slap Seo across the face, but Seo easily takes him down with one
09:43swift move.
09:43Seo then turns to speak to the rest of them, telling them that he is quitting and that all
09:48they need to do now is pay him the outstanding wages and severance pay that he is owed. But the
09:54gang refuses to back down and charges straight at Seo, though Seo easily uses his martial arts skills to
10:00take them down one after another. The gang members are utterly shocked by Seo's abilities, since he had
10:06always been seen as hopeless when it came to fighting. After a while, Seo notices that his hands are starting
10:12to
10:12shake, so he decides to wrap things up quickly. At a certain point, the only person left standing
10:18is the gang boss, and desperate to take Seo down, he pulls out his special blade and gets ready to
10:24charge at him. Seo immediately spots the blade and can tell right away that it is a relic. He is
10:29not
10:30entirely sure why something like that already exists this early into the apocalypse, but he is certain of
