The legal representatives of Cockroach Janta Party addressed the media after appearing before a Special Executive Magistrate court regarding the continued preventive detention of party members, including Saurabh. The defence counsel stated that the state filed a fresh plea seeking five to seven days of further judicial custody citing an imminent threat to public order and tranquility, without placing any substantive material on record to demonstrate genuine apprehension. Counsel highlighted that there is no First Information Report registered against the individuals and criticised the court for rejecting sureties on grounds such as photographs not matching due to shorter hair. Party legal representative Ratna questioned the court's conduct, stating the proceedings resembled a circus and calling for an inquiry into the handling of personal liberty. The defence announced that the order extending judicial custody would be legally challenged before a higher court, terming the preventive detention an unwarranted curb on youngsters' voices.

00:00All right, let's quickly listen in. The Kokoro Janata Party's lawyer speaking to India today. Listen in.
00:07And we brought them to court.
00:12At that point of time, the state came up with a new application which was served to us at that
00:18point.
00:19In this application, they have stated that they want further judicial custody for 5 to 7 days.
00:26They have asked for further judicial custody.
00:34The reasons they gave is that there is an imminent threat to public order.
00:39There is an imminent threat to public tranquility.
00:41And they have stated that because of that, I need to stay further in judicial custody.
00:47When we saw the application, and this is something we have argued,
00:51it is very, very disturbing to us that in that entire application,
00:56not one statement, and we informed the SEM of this,
01:00not one statement has been brought on record to show that there is any apprehension.
01:04The application only talks about all previous calls for protests which were completely legitimate.
01:11What disturbed us even more in the finding of the court is that they do not explain.
01:16An order, we will share the order.
01:18The order refuses to explain what the apprehension is.
01:23In fact, the order states that the state has some apprehension and therefore they should be in custody.
01:28And then in another paragraph states that, I have never seen this in my entire career,
01:33and I don't think most lawyers would have.
01:34After seven days of custody, they said today they rejected a surety saying that the pictures are not matching
01:41because the person had shorter hair.
01:43There is absolutely this shocking to me that this is the fourth set of sureties.
01:48And assuming that earlier they had a problem with the surety because there was antecedence of the person
01:54or the person who belonged to a party, today the sureties that were produced,
01:58all those sureties and all the details, all the identifications,
02:02in fact, the SEM called in each surety and sat with them for 15 minutes, 15 minutes each surety.
02:08And after that has passed an order that the sureties cannot be accepted on the ground of a photograph not
02:14matching
02:15and on the ground further that they have no control over sorrow.
02:19It is very disturbing to us.
02:21We have got that order.
02:27We are thinking about what our remedy should be, but definitely this order will be challenged.
02:35But it is very, very unfortunate.
02:37And everybody has to remember there is no FIR against my clients right now on this issue.
02:42This is a issue of preventive custody.
02:44This is a case that they have kept on the ground and protested.
03:08We will take it up legally, but this is something which is hugely disappointing to all of us.
03:18Ratna, Ratna, Ratna, we would request you to please agree.
03:20Please come on the same spot.
03:221 step back here.
03:23Don't come back, don't come back, here's where they came,
03:27Don't come back again.
03:28Just somewhere to go back, never going.
03:29Whether it'spoints how tall is coming now?
03:31Rubrat贏.
03:32Unfortunately, I believe that they were not.
03:346 cables will only come back, it's also breaking.
03:35They're running around.
03:36From here, he tells us they can't have Automat JMat.
03:38Here, it happens.

04:43I think this is a compromise they are compromised they have rejected surety
05:04there has been no call from our end and still they were sent to two days judicial custody
05:20I just feel that this entire system which is there to crush us I don't think this is going
05:27to crush us all the youth the youth of this country is watching they are seeing how you
05:33know that they are using the power they are misusing the law to curb the voices to curb
05:39these youngsters to curb these people to come together and raise their voice I think they
05:44are not understanding that all of this is making them stronger all of them is making all of
05:50these things is making them more powerful and they will all revert to it and then the government
05:55will have to answer absolutely absolutely this is misuse of law this is wastage of time this
06:04is wastage of all our energy these lawyers have been here since past five days and nothing
06:10has been done which can show that these people need to go to judicial custody thank you so much
