Full day of eating Dutch meals, with a vegan twist and a mix of typical Dutch food and multicultural favorites from the Netherlands. Jetske starts the day with vegan quark-style yogurt topped with banana, strawberries, grapes, chia seeds, flaxseed, granola, chocolate bites, raisins and cinnamon-sugar pieces, then heads out for a run before a very Dutch lunch of two pieces of bread with hummus, cucumber, tomato and chickpeas.

Later, after working and a long-distance call with her boyfriend, she makes a quick chocolate snack and realizes she has forgotten to film and even eat properly. By evening, it’s time for vegan sushi with rice, tofu and vegetables, rolled at home and finished with soy sauce, followed by chocolate dates with peanut butter. The video gives a real look at everyday lifestyle food, vegan meal ideas, Dutch eating habits, and how life and meals can feel different between the Netherlands and Uganda.

Perfect for viewers searching for a full day of eating, Dutch meals, vegan food diary, lifestyle vlog, plant-based meal inspiration, and multicultural food in the Netherlands. Ideal for anyone who enjoys realistic what I eat in a day videos, vegan lunch and dinner ideas, and relaxed food vlog content.

00:18Hello everyone and thanks for watching this new video, this new vlog. Today I'm going to show you
00:25what I eat in a day, because it's way different than what I eat in Uganda. Since in Uganda of
00:34course
00:34I eat mostly local food, it depends. When I'm there for a longer time I'm sometimes missing my
00:40international food. What I'm going to eat today, it's not, well some things are typically Dutch,
00:46but some things aren't. Because in the Netherlands we are such a multicultural country, so we have
00:54such a diversity of different countries, like different food. I can eat pasta, which is Italian,
01:01I can have like croissant, which is from France, I can have sushi, which is from Japan, and I can
01:09continue what I can eat. I can even eat, if I want, well it is quite difficult, but I can
01:15have local
01:16Ugandan food. At least I can make it myself. Although I have to admit, matoko banana is really
01:24yeah, not common here. But what I'm going to eat this morning is going to be, oh I always forget
01:31the
01:31English word for quark, cottage cheese. But I am a vegan, so I have the vegan version of it. It's
01:38made out of soil. Soil, not soil. That would be really weird. And I made a video for my Dutch
01:47channel,
01:48so I had a lot of toppings. For example this chocolate bites, but also this is with cinnamon
01:54and brown sugar. But I have also lots of fruits. I eat a banana. I have here strawberries, which is
02:03probably my favorite food, fruits. And I have, I don't know if you can see it,
02:09there are some grapes in it as well. So I'm going to add some grape as well. That's mostly what
02:15I do,
02:15like cottage cheese, banana, and then some other fruits, like in this case, strawberries and grapes.
02:23And then most of the time I add some raisins as well. At least I have this now in my
02:27home. If I don't have
02:28it, I'm not buy it again until I'm going to do a recipe with this. But I'm not a really
02:34big fan of
02:35raisins, raisins. I have some chai seeds, chai chia seeds. I don't know how to pronounce this in
02:41English. I'm going to add that. It's also for the healthy fats. And I have also, I needed that for
02:49a
02:49recipe. I have some grounded flax seeds. So I'm going to add that as well. Same reason as the chai
02:58seeds,
02:58chia seeds, whatever. And of course, I have some granola. So most of the time I have those toppings,
03:07but now I add extra the chocolate, the raisins, and the cinnamon bites things. So let's make breakfast.
03:39I've got here my breakfast now. And I think one of the things I miss in Uganda is like good
03:44soy
03:44yogurt. Because there are some coconut yogurts, but I don't know. Coconut is not my thing. And
03:52strawberries. I still don't get why there are not growing any strawberries in Uganda. I mean,
03:58this is the perfect climate to grow strawberries. Well, I don't know actually. I say it's the perfect
04:03climate, but now it is sunny. And I barely have strawberries from my own, well, I don't want to
04:10say garden, but from my own rooftop mini garden. So yeah, maybe it isn't the good environment to grow
04:18strawberries. But this is really nice. So I'm going to enjoy this before I'm going for a run. Okay guys,
04:28I just had a run and it is already two, which is for me very late to have lunch. But
04:35I have two breads.
04:36This is really typical Dutch. And I know all Ugandans will say, oh, that's too little lunch. That's not okay.
04:45But yes, I'm going to do that. Because I'm going to eat those two breads. Well,
04:51let's wait and see what I'm going to make out of these and the rest.
05:22Now, let's see what I'm going to make out of this place.
05:31so this is the result it is muhammara and hummus and then with some cucumber and tomato
05:40and chickpeas easy and nice lunch okay guys i just had a talk with my boyfriend long distance
05:49relationship things i need some chocolate now i'm gonna eat chocolate and i'm gonna do some work
05:57and then i see you later guys oh my goodness guys i was so into a focus of making content
06:05that i forgot to make a video for you and i forgot to eat at least i ate the chocolate
06:13of course but
06:15it's now quarter to seven almost and i didn't have dinner yet and now i feel my stomach like
06:22what are you doing i need some food and we are going to make that it's going to be sushi
06:31because i'm a huge sushi fan but since i'm vegan i'm not eating fish i'm gonna make vegan sushi i'm
06:42going to cook some rice first that's going to take some time and in the meantime i'm going to cut
06:48some vegetables
07:07okay guys we are going to do some magic i always forget i think i have to lay it down
07:14like this
07:15i'm not a japanese so for all people from japan who are looking at me i'm sorry what you do
07:21is you
07:22put rice then some tofu i always actually like to add everything but i think it's better for the roll
07:31to not do that then i don't have like a mat to roll i think i put not enough rice
07:38it's a long time ago
07:39that i made sushi actually oh and the rice is hot ow ow ow oh sorry japanese people
07:50okay this is roll number one
08:04okay i know now again why i never take sushi or make actually because i'm really worse in cutting i
08:11mean look at this mess it's it's insane just cover it quick i didn't have enough rice to fill all
08:18of the
08:19sheets so i will make sushi tomorrow as well but i think this is enough for one person and this
08:27as
08:27well so it's like two and a half sheet we shall see if i want more i have always more
08:33and of course i'm
08:34going to do a taste test
08:39always with some soy sauce
08:48i'm really want to know who likes sushi and who doesn't because my boyfriend doesn't like sushi
08:55i probably eat really disgusting but who doesn't like sushi
09:00oh it is so good okay i'm gonna enjoy this sushi so as a snack or dessert i'm going to
09:08eat some
09:09chocolate dates which you saw them in the previous video
09:17it's with the peanut butter i already know that i'm probably not going to eat
09:22anything else and the fun fact is in uganda i eat like three big meals and that's it like breakfast
09:32lunch and dinner and in the netherlands i snack more in between and sometimes i even eat also three meals
09:39because i try to keep that a little bit as a how do you say that as a rhythm because
09:46otherwise when
09:47i'm coming back in uganda i have to switch my whole diet again like a big meal in once but
09:53yeah i'm just
09:54fine with both ways i like to have three big meals and i like to have three smaller meals and
10:00have snacks
10:00in between i'm fine with anything as long as it's food i'm okay so yeah i will end this video
10:08with this
10:09snack i hope you enjoy this please put a thumbs up if you like the video and don't forget to
