A full day of eating Dutch food turns into a funny, honest culture-clash meal vlog, with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner built around the everyday foods the Netherlands is known for. From bread with chocolate sprinkles and peanut butter to a warm tosti, stroopwafel tea time, and a simple stamppot-style dinner with vegan meatballs, the video leans into the reality of Dutch comfort food and the creator’s vegan twist.

The story is framed around maternity leave, with a relaxed update about extra videos coming during this period and more food content on the way. Along the way, the creator reflects on how Dutch food often centers on bread, potatoes, coffee, and sweets, while also joking about the contrast with Ugandan food culture. It’s a light lifestyle and food vlog with real reactions, casual commentary, and everyday eating moments.

If you enjoy Dutch food vlog content, what I eat in a day videos, expat life, culture clash, vegan food ideas, and honest lifestyle commentary, this one fits right in. It’s also a good pick for viewers searching for full day of eating, Dutch snacks, Dutch breakfast, Dutch lunch, and simple home-cooked comfort meals.

00:00Good morning to you and thanks for watching this new video. When you see this and this
00:05feels really really strange because when you see this I am on my maternity leave but I don't want
00:13to leave you alone. So I thought I'm going to make some extra videos during this period. Of course
00:19no vlogs because yeah it felt a little bit strange to keep continuing vlogging. It's all in the past
00:27so there are some extra videos coming up and as soon as I am done with my maternity leave I
00:33continue
00:33vlogging again. Okay guys here is Jetske from the edit and I said indeed like oh I'm going to
00:41make some extra content but I decided to do something else. I had to make another video.
00:50There will be a video where I eat typically Ugandan food but meanwhile I'm still continuing
00:56vlogging. So what to expect next week there will be a vlog and the week after I will eat a
01:04full day
01:04Ugandan food only. And then I'm continuing actually vlogging if I'm in the mood for it. So it could be
01:13that the Ugandan video is the last one and then you see me back in September but it could be
01:20also
01:20that I continue vlogging. I just film when I want. So it doesn't mean when you don't see me for
01:28a while
01:29it means already that I'm giving birth. It can be also that I was not in the mood to take
01:34the camera
01:35with me. So yeah at least you will expect one vlog next week and an extra video the week after
01:44and after
01:44that time will tell. And I will at least see you back in September but maybe before that
01:55I don't know. So yeah continue with the video. Today I'm going to do something yeah crazy nice I don't
02:04know. I am going to eat a full day typical Dutch food. Because I never forget the conversation I had
02:17with my boyfriend when I met him and a friend of him. They were so surprised that I actually barely
02:23eat
02:23typical Dutch food. Because in Uganda people are so proud of their local food. They are always asking
02:31like oh what did you eat from the local food? Did you ever eat local food from Uganda? And it's
02:36really
02:36they're yeah I don't know they're they're proud. In the Netherlands we are not so proud of our local food.
02:43I think we are most common of our cheese, bread and sweets. So those were the things that you will
02:50see
02:50a lot in this video. Of course I'm eating vegan so that means I don't eat cheese. But nowadays you
02:56have
02:56like fake cheese. So what you will see is all fake. It's not made of animal products. But it's based
03:05on an
03:05animal product that we used in our dishes. A typical Dutch breakfast is the following. Some bread with
03:12some chocolate sprinkles. I think we are the only country who sells chocolate sprinkles as something for
03:20on the bread. But yes we do this. And of course peanut butter. A bread with peanut butter is also
03:28typical Dutch. Now my lovely Ugandan man ate all the bread. Thank you very much. Welcome. I don't know
03:35he always says bread is not a meal. And I don't like bread. But he almost finished all the bread.
03:43And
03:44spoiler alert in the afternoon I also have to eat some bread. So what I'm going to do now I
03:48take two
03:49breads. And then I'm going to eat something that's not really Dutch. Knackenbrood. It's actually Swedish.
03:58This is typical. Maybe it's also typical Dutch. Because typical Dutch is also that we have so many
04:04other things from other cultures. For example knackenbrood from Sweden. But I see already here tacos
04:10from Mexico. So we have so many options here that we don't eat the typical Dutch food. But hey I
04:21try of
04:21course to stick at my own culture and show you a little bit how my culture eats. So we start
04:27with
04:27the breads. And this is how it looks like. Two slices of bread with chocolate sprinkles. Yes that is my
04:34breakfast. I know. But I'm going to enjoy this. This is a long time ago that I had this as
04:40a breakfast.
04:41A really long time. Okay guys. It is now lunch time. And Dutch don't lunch warm. At least we lunch
04:50a
04:50little bit warm. It depends. Because now I'm going to make... Well I don't want to say a warm meal.
04:57But a warm
04:58lunch. I'm going to make a toastie. And I'm going to use vegan ham. And vegan cheese for it. And
05:08I do this
05:09in between two slices of bread. And then I grill it here. That's literally my lunch. And I have one
05:15bread left over. So I think I will have as a dessert the chocolate sprinkles again. I just literally put
05:21the cheese and the ham on the sandwich. And then it's time to grill. Okay you can eat it with
05:29ketchup.
05:30That's really nice. And normally they drink milk with it. But I feel so cold that I'm going to drink
05:35some tea. So I'm going to enjoy this toastie. It's almost four o'clock. And then it's tea time in
05:42the
05:42Netherlands. And it's really common to eat a candy or a cookie. This is a stroopwafel. And I just realized
05:49I took a tea and you can... Oh no my stroopwafel is too small for the tea. I want to
05:55say you can put
05:56it on top so it melts a little bit. But yeah the tea cup is too big for the stroopwafel.
06:02Okay here I am
06:03again. Jetske from the edit. I realized... I don't know what was on my mind. But I didn't have the
06:09coffee
06:10moment. Because in the Netherlands we are a country where we... Well I want to say coffee is our fuel.
06:18It's
06:19insane how much coffee people drink. I drink rarely coffee. Like one a day. And that's for some people
06:27already a shock. Like only one. And then it's not even black coffee but just a latte. But for example
06:37I have some friends who never drink coffee. Will only drink tea. And there are like the coffee addicted
06:42who can't understand that you never drink coffee. But like I said the Netherlands is really built on
06:50coffee. There are people who drink like three, four, five or even seven coffees a day.
06:55It's not healthy. So yeah I forgot between breakfast and lunch is most of the time coffee time. And people
07:04take coffee with a cookie. A small cookie. A small sweet treat. Not so big as you saw with a
07:12stroopwafel.
07:12But I was more in a sweet tooth. So I took also a bread with chocolate sprinkles and a cracker
07:19with
07:20peanut butter and chocolate sprinkles. It's a really nice combination. And the cracker is of course
07:25not typical Dutch. But I hope you can forgive me. So I'm going to snack this now. And then I
07:32see you at
07:33dinner. Okay guys. The next thing I'm going to cook or actually our dinner will be stampot. You can even
07:42read it here. Stampot aardappelen. Stampot potatoes. It is actually quite simple. We're going to eat
07:50hutspot. It's just a matter of putting those both in a pan. Wait for cook. Meanwhile I'm going to put
07:59the balls in the airfryer. And then we can eat. Yeah I love a simple meal. I think that's typical
08:08Dutch
08:08being simple. So I'm going to put this in the pan and then just wait. Okay this is the result.
08:18The
08:18hutspot and I put some ketchup on it as well. And a vegan meatball. So this is the typical Dutch
08:25meal.
08:26Sorry the ketchup was almost finished. That's why it looks like a mess. Okay guys this was a full day
08:31of eating only Dutch food. And as you can see it's a lot of bread. It's potatoes because we live
08:40on
08:40potatoes. And it's a lot of sweets. If you are wondering where are the fruits? I'm also kind of
08:47wondering. No maybe. Sometimes we eat an apple as a snack. An apple and a pear are the only typical
08:54Dutch fruits. And yeah I didn't eat it today. A little bit bad. But tomorrow I will eat my fruits
09:01again.
09:02But for now I will say thank you for watching this video. I hope you liked it. Please put a
09:07thumbs up
09:07and don't forget to subscribe. And I see you at the next video. Bye bye!
