00:00:21Le countdown to the midterm elections is on.
00:00:24At stake, control of Congress.
00:00:26On the eve of the midterm elections,
00:00:28a deeply divided country.
00:00:31President Trump is hoping to give Republicans a boost.
00:00:33Can Democrats flip the House and Senate?
00:00:35Over the past six years,
00:00:37a team of filmmakers across the United States
00:00:40has been documenting the views and experiences of Americans.
00:00:43When they step outside their jurisdiction...
00:00:47What is your take on all this stuff going on?
00:00:50From the earliest days of the pandemic...
00:00:53I love you so much.
00:00:54...to a summer of protest...
00:00:55We're the free people of America.
00:00:58As long as they catch one dirty cop at a time,
00:01:01I'm happy, one at a time.
00:01:03...and economic woes.
00:01:04Groceries are skyrocketing.
00:01:06Health care is off the roof.
00:01:08The hopes and fears about the last elections...
00:01:11I want the values to be what the people are voting for,
00:01:14not the person.
00:01:15...and the current one.
00:01:16The state of this country now, it's messy.
00:01:19People are angry.
00:01:20I think I am, too.
00:01:21Now, a Frontline Special Presentation.
00:01:25American Voices 2026.
00:01:36How can I love America?
00:01:37I can't...
00:01:38I don't think I can love America.
00:01:39I can't put that into words.
00:01:41Are we any more safe now than we were before?
00:01:45The cost of living has gone up.
00:01:48I'm fearful that people will forget how to work with people
00:01:52that you don't agree with.
00:01:55These are the voices of Americans.
00:01:58People are getting angrier and angrier.
00:02:01I want to be in charge of my own life!
00:02:03...gathered from across a divided nation.
00:02:06If America doesn't repent, America will be doomed.
00:02:10In this film, Americans reflect on the past six tumultuous years.
00:02:15Someone clap once for me.
00:02:18This ain't the American dream I thought about when I was in middle school.
00:02:22I wish there wasn't as much hate in this world as what we have.
00:02:27The midterms are definitely going to be very polarizing.
00:02:33A pastor, a barber, an aspiring politician, an activist, a mother, a retiree,
00:02:44the owners of a nail salon and of a construction company, a doctor and a patient.
00:02:56Each experiencing changes happening in the country and in their own lives.
00:03:08So, we're new to Missouri.
00:03:10I'm seeing all the signs about, like, no one, four and five, you know?
00:03:14Do you have an opinion on those?
00:03:16Um, not enough to speak one way or the other.
00:03:22It's tomorrow.
00:03:23Is it tomorrow?
00:03:24Yeah.
00:03:25All right, well.
00:03:27Go and take a look, but I will, too.
00:03:30It's good to be informed.
00:03:31Two more over there.
00:03:33Awesome, thank you.
00:03:34I'm trying to talk to locals about the issues that are on the ballot,
00:03:38but so far, nobody near me knows what they even are.
00:03:43Okay, so look there.
00:03:45Objective versus subjective.
00:03:47My kids sometimes will just blurt something out that they got from a meme.
00:03:52I would be like, okay, why do you feel that way?
00:03:55What are the facts?
00:03:56And they can't even explain it.
00:03:58Opinions versus facts.
00:03:59And this is why I hate the mainstream news now.
00:04:02My name is Amy Garner.
00:04:03I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,
00:04:07and I am a mom of six kids.
00:04:10I don't trust any news source.
00:04:13All these people are getting a lot of money from advertisers.
00:04:17I would never say that I blindly or fully trust any of them.
00:04:24No bag is exactly what it sounds like.
00:04:27It's a backpack or duffel bag designed to have everything you need,
00:04:30so in case of an emergency, you can easily and quickly grab it.
00:04:34My name is Dr. Christine Eadie Mann.
00:04:38I am a family practice physician in the Central Texas area.
00:04:43Politics in 2020, COVID in 2020, Kamala Harris in 2024.
00:04:48It has led to me more thinking, take care of myself,
00:04:53take care of my friends, take care of my family.
00:04:55This is our solar crank radio, so if the grid goes down,
00:05:01you can use solar or you can crank it.
00:05:04Sewing kit, antibiotic ointment.
00:05:07This kind of prepping makes me have to think about the idea
00:05:12that some of my fears could come to fruition.
00:05:21Our men have been emasculated.
00:05:24American men are soft.
00:05:26I mean, honestly, if we do not hold the line in 2026 and 2028,
00:05:33Minnesota is going to be ground zero for rounding some of you people up.
00:05:38My name is Royce White.
00:05:39I didn't get into politics for it to be a job.
00:05:42I only got into politics to speak a truth
00:05:44that I thought wouldn't be spoken unless I got into politics.
00:05:49Our political reality in this country is
00:05:52the future of this nation rests upon the edge of a blade.
00:05:56Good to see you, guys.
00:06:01Oh, no.
00:06:02So close, but no.
00:06:05I don't even look at the news anymore
00:06:07because I don't want to see him.
00:06:09I'm just so tired of seeing the president.
00:06:13Okay, I have the answer.
00:06:14It is Frank Sinatra.
00:06:16I got it right.
00:06:18Tell you, I get lucky every day I'm there.
00:06:21My name is Corrine Lewis.
00:06:23I live in North Chesterfield, Virginia.
00:06:26I'm retired.
00:06:28And I'm a homeowner.
00:06:42My pastor even said,
00:06:45he said,
00:06:45even if we're not happy with the person running the country,
00:06:48we still have to love him.
00:06:50Say it.
00:06:51Say it.
00:06:51I guess I still have a lot more spiritual guidance to have to do
00:06:57because I'm not there.
00:07:06My name is Mark Curtis.
00:07:08I'm a father.
00:07:10I'm also a business owner.
00:07:11I own a construction company.
00:07:14My political leanings today are very much conservative libertarian.
00:07:19As an American that has no ties to Israel,
00:07:22and I don't mean for this to come across as being insensitive,
00:07:24but I don't like how much money or the involvement America has in the foreign war.
00:07:30What is your take on all this stuff going on?
00:07:32Because I don't feel like I have educated a true, full sense of what's happening.
00:07:39I feel with 7th and the fact that, you know,
00:07:42you had people that invaded churches and...
00:07:45Coming from Palestine.
00:07:46Coming from Gaza.
00:07:48But then...
00:07:49Yeah, which is horrible.
00:07:53I am not sure how everything shifted from being America first
00:07:57and our economics improving to needing the support of a foreign nation.
00:08:07Tough times are coming.
00:08:09The next few years might be rough.
00:08:11There's going to be ups and downs.
00:08:13There's going to be turmoil.
00:08:14Our culture has drifted so far away from Christian ethics.
00:08:18But he will hold me fast.
00:08:20And he'll hold you fast.
00:08:22You got two choices in American politics.
00:08:24You can have bad or you can have worse.
00:08:27Republicans are bad.
00:08:28Democrats are worse.
00:08:29You get evil or you get more evil.
00:08:32My name is Kerry Gordon.
00:08:35I'm the senior pastor of Cornerstone World Outreach.
00:08:40I've told my kids at home that this world is cruel.
00:08:46You have to maintain compassion for other people
00:08:49and want to help other people
00:08:51and at the same time keep a defensive posture
00:08:54so that you can survive it.
00:09:00I've seen on that time they thought they was like it was deja vu.
00:09:03Draco 762 with some green dip.
00:09:05That's my favorite round.
00:09:05She'll catch it on the track.
00:09:06Crime raps report.
00:09:07The shells were never found.
00:09:08100 about the outs.
00:09:09I never lied.
00:09:10They music really whack.
00:09:11I said we be slicing through the app
00:09:12and we don't even got a deli.
00:09:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:15You got bars, man.
00:09:17You can rap.
00:09:18Just make sure you mean what you say, you know?
00:09:21Music and like art and stuff like that
00:09:22is just self-reflection.
00:09:24And if you're mad at the time,
00:09:26get it out on the music.
00:09:28If you feel heart broke at the time,
00:09:29get it out on the music.
00:09:31My name is Tyler Daniel.
00:09:32I'm from South Minneapolis, Minnesota.
00:09:35I am a human first and a community member.
00:09:38You know, I don't really like to get into politics
00:09:39even though politics gets into all of us, right?
00:09:42All right, my man.
00:09:43All right, for sure.
00:09:44Y'all be smooth, man.
00:09:46I'm contributing as much as I can
00:09:47to the people that I love
00:09:48and the community I love.
00:10:01When I was in high school,
00:10:02I always tell my friend, like,
00:10:04later on in life,
00:10:05I'm going to do some kind of business.
00:10:06Like, I'm going to open a business.
00:10:08I don't know what it is,
00:10:09but something, something.
00:10:12My name is Jamie Dinh.
00:10:14My name is Jason Tolentino.
00:10:17When I tell Jason I'm going to get a nail salon,
00:10:20and then he was like,
00:10:21oh my God,
00:10:22you know how much you have to pay for rent, insurance,
00:10:25and then how many pedicure you have to do?
00:10:27I was like, Jason, I don't know,
00:10:29but I know that I have to get that.
00:10:34The government have their job to do,
00:10:37and me, I'm just a follower.
00:10:40We work hard to keep the life,
00:10:44the life that we are right now.
00:10:56It just don't seem like
00:10:59something in the air.
00:11:01It's just a year with a whole lot wrong to it.
00:11:04Hmm.
00:11:06My name is Brian Moore.
00:11:08I'm a barber from Portland, Oregon.
00:11:10Gotcha.
00:11:10You can have a seat,
00:11:11and we'll be right with you.
00:11:14Peter, you are on the wait list as well.
00:11:17My business,
00:11:18it's not like it used to be.
00:11:20There's not really regulars anymore,
00:11:24and that's why I chose
00:11:25to do a part-time position
00:11:27at a franchise.
00:11:29I keep reiterating to myself
00:11:31that it's going to get better
00:11:32because the economy's going to get better.
00:11:34It's going to go back
00:11:35to where it should be.
00:11:37I don't think we're coming out of this.
00:11:40I don't think that we're going to come out
00:11:41of this one unscathed.
00:11:45If you asked me in 2020
00:11:47if any of these things would have happened,
00:11:49I would have not believed you.
00:11:53I guess I am very different
00:11:54than I was back then.
00:11:56There's been a lot of things
00:11:57that have changed from 2020,
00:11:58but I don't think nearly enough
00:12:00has changed.
00:12:01My heart hasn't changed,
00:12:02but my political views have changed.
00:12:04How did we get to this point?
00:12:11The CDC says there are now
00:12:13more than 4,200 cases of coronavirus.
00:12:16Mass gatherings are restricted
00:12:17to less than 10 people.
00:12:21All the people,
00:12:22the nations,
00:12:23and the languages
00:12:24fell down and worshipped
00:12:26the golden image
00:12:27that Nebuchadnezzar,
00:12:29the king, had set up.
00:12:35My father pioneered this church in 1982.
00:12:38This is my 25th year
00:12:40of pastoring myself.
00:12:43How do I water-baptive someone
00:12:45in a virtual service?
00:12:47How do I bury the dead?
00:12:49How do I have a wedding?
00:12:52How are people supposed
00:12:53to have me lay my hands upon them
00:12:56and anoint them with oil
00:12:57and pray over them
00:12:58to be healed in the midst
00:12:59of a pandemic
00:12:59when I'm told that
00:13:00I can't have physical contact?
00:13:07They've said the church
00:13:08is not essential.
00:13:09In a time of crisis,
00:13:11with imminent death
00:13:12and a pandemic,
00:13:13the church is not essential.
00:13:15It's offensive.
00:13:32Back and forth
00:13:33and in and out
00:13:35and back and forth again.
00:13:39for we are strong people
00:13:41and we will come out of this
00:13:42and be on top again.
00:13:45I do believe.
00:13:53The bills keep stacking up
00:13:56with no money coming in.
00:14:10I'm just looking for the future.
00:14:13I'm not going to stop
00:14:14doing what I'm doing
00:14:15because I'm a provider,
00:14:16so my mind is set
00:14:18on what I have to do.
00:14:20Be a grandpa,
00:14:22you know,
00:14:23be a dad,
00:14:23be an uncle.
00:14:29The coronavirus pandemic
00:14:30is putting an end
00:14:31to the longest economic expansion
00:14:33in U.S. history.
00:14:35We are going into
00:14:36a global recession.
00:14:38There we go.
00:14:39That's looking nice.
00:14:41You look so happy about it.
00:14:44Turn around
00:14:45so I can see the back.
00:14:50Look as grumpy
00:14:51as you possibly can.
00:14:57Mental health is important to me.
00:14:59I lost my brother to suicide
00:15:01just three years ago.
00:15:04When we say economy,
00:15:05sometimes we just think
00:15:06of finances as a whole
00:15:08of society,
00:15:09but instead I see my brother.
00:15:11His business was going down.
00:15:13That triggered the stress,
00:15:14which triggered his health issues,
00:15:16which triggered his mental health issues,
00:15:18and he was gone in 60 days.
00:15:28I wanted to save other families
00:15:31from going through
00:15:32what we went through.
00:15:33Sorry.
00:15:34So that's why I became
00:15:36so passionate
00:15:37about not shutting things down,
00:15:39letting people choose.
00:15:42Are we sheep
00:15:43or are we people?
00:15:45Are we sheep and boys?
00:15:47Let's go to work!
00:15:49You take away people's connections,
00:15:51their hobbies,
00:15:52their friends,
00:15:53their worship,
00:15:54their work,
00:15:55and everyone's going to be depressed.
00:15:57And I am so blessed
00:15:59to have a family of children
00:16:00and a husband,
00:16:01but what about the people
00:16:02who don't?
00:16:03It's heartbreaking.
00:16:05God bless America,
00:16:09my home sweet home.
00:16:14Wow.
00:16:20Yeah, good morning.
00:16:21Second Baptist,
00:16:22praise the Lord ever got you.
00:16:25Our seniors,
00:16:26amen,
00:16:26because of COVID-19
00:16:28should not be out and about.
00:16:30That's right.
00:16:33My immune system is weakened,
00:16:36so I have learned
00:16:38I have learned to love being alone.
00:16:39I have learned to be pretty darn comfortable.
00:16:43I am one of these people that still walk around wondering,
00:16:57do I have COVID?
00:16:59One person that passed,
00:17:02I knew her very, very, very, very, very well.
00:17:08And she was healthy as she could be.
00:17:11Words just can't describe how this makes me feel.
00:17:29Ammo. Head to ammo. Back right.
00:17:33Do you want one of those targets?
00:17:35Yes.
00:17:35We're going to shoot later today.
00:17:36Sure.
00:17:38How about...
00:17:39No, we're not getting that target.
00:17:40How about each of you get to pick one target?
00:17:44Oh.
00:17:45Here, let's check out here.
00:17:47See if we can.
00:17:49I don't need a mask, man.
00:17:53Thanks.
00:17:54I already said it twice.
00:17:56Well, who was that?
00:18:05I want my kids to start looking at the facts across the board
00:18:09and let them make their own decisions even starting at a young age.
00:18:24I think overall freedoms are majorly at risk.
00:18:28We should all have the right to make our own decisions for ourselves.
00:18:32With a good firm grip, squeeze the trigger.
00:18:56With a good firm grip, squeeze the trigger.
00:19:06I saw her picture on MySpace.
00:19:12Wow, we just started talking from there.
00:19:14All right.
00:19:15One second.
00:19:15Then we're going to turn the table.
00:19:17So welcome, Jason.
00:19:19Welcome, Young Tiet.
00:19:20We're going to be sharing in the joy and the celebration of a very special occasion.
00:19:25When I proposed, I asked her if she was going to marry me and then she slapped me.
00:19:32Well, you know, I always think like, oh, if someone proposed me, I would slap like him
00:19:38in the face just to make sure that he like, you know, he know what he's doing.
00:19:43And then he got kind of scared a little bit and then I was like, oh, yes.
00:19:47And just look into each other's eyes.
00:19:51Please welcome your marriage with a kiss.
00:19:58You can remove your masks if you want.
00:20:07I'm hoping that this whole pandemic, it goes away.
00:20:10Then we'll be able to open up a shop normally again and maybe we'll get a kid.
00:20:40When the COVID-19 pandemic started, we were left without any guidance.
00:20:48Doctors like me, we kind of all had to make it up on the fly.
00:20:53My hands are sweaty. I can't get the gloves on.
00:20:57It took weeks looking at studies and data from other countries to figure out the processes to manage patients.
00:21:07This takes between one and three days to get a result. Sorry.
00:21:18We're suffering much worse than we would have had we had a competent science-based head of state.
00:21:29The number of deaths in the United States has now reached a stunning 50,000.
00:21:35Had at least one underlying health issue.
00:21:38New effort to keep Chicagoans safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:21:41New effort to keep Chicagoans safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:22:13Are we still going to help so far?
00:22:13We don't have to feel better than that.
00:22:13One day I woke up, I was so weak, I just fell over.
00:22:20I was like, okay, I really need to go to the emergency room.
00:22:29They, like, immediately, like, put me in a room,
00:22:31didn't even ask me my name or anything.
00:22:36I remember a doctor came in and told me,
00:22:39we're pretty sure we're going to have to intubate you.
00:22:41Do you have someone that can make medical decisions for you?
00:22:49Then it's just kind of a blur, what happened after I got intubated.
00:22:59The day they told us that Myra, it was her last day,
00:23:04we're all in the trampoline, just, my mom was crying.
00:23:09My sisters, all my aunts were there.
00:23:12They were crying.
00:23:14They didn't know what to do.
00:23:15And we were just planning to go pick up a corpse.
00:23:20I was trying to avoid it.
00:23:22I love you so much.
00:23:29My name is Myra Amirez.
00:23:31I'm 28 years old,
00:23:33and I am the first lung, double lung transplant patient due to COVID-19 in the U.S.
00:23:44The attempted arrest was caught on camera.
00:23:46The video of last night's confrontation shows a white police officer with his knee pinning down the neck of the...
00:23:52His name was George Floyd.
00:23:54He's on video saying, please, please, I can't breathe.
00:23:58It's a Minneapolis police officer, holds him down for a minute.
00:24:00No justice, no peace.
00:24:03Prosecute the police.
00:24:04The outrage began with a video showing an officer kneeling on Floyd's neck.
00:24:08How many times have we watched police officers running through?
00:24:15Crowds of protesters facing off with officers in lion gear.
00:24:22Overnight protests left parts of downtown in ruins.
00:24:30If just one of these oppressive rulers wants to crack, the entire system will crumble.
00:24:38Yeah!
00:24:41We're already fighting a common terror, which is COVID, and now this now, you know?
00:24:46People were just pissed off, like, this is just ridiculous.
00:24:49How can you kill this man?
00:24:50Rude history of the United States.
00:24:54The fact that it happened in my neighborhood was what really pulled me into it.
00:25:01As far as the volunteering efforts go,
00:25:04so far you're our go-to volunteer coordinator, right?
00:25:06So we really have to get her engaged with them, and the efforts-
00:25:11A lot of guys from the neighborhood decided to get together and create the 10K Foundation.
00:25:16We wanted to show that we could have a peaceful protest.
00:25:1910K is about mobilizing 10,000 people, and the power in that, the sovereignty, and being able to mobilize.
00:25:25I grew up here in the Twin Cities.
00:25:27I felt ashamed that this had happened in Minnesota.
00:25:31All at once, I started to see, you know, the state as a real tyrannical entity with corporations and state
00:25:38government and the police.
00:25:40I was like, oh, these were—it's us versus them.
00:25:44This is kind of going to be, like, our pillars for 10K right now.
00:25:48Safety.
00:25:49It's really police and prisons.
00:25:51Public health, we have the prison system.
00:25:52Prisons, you have policing.
00:25:54Yes.
00:25:57I made a lot of bad decisions when I was younger.
00:25:59Getting in fights, had an assault charge, things like that.
00:26:04There was a moment where, you know, some guys broke into my house and tried to rob me, and they
00:26:09ended up shooting me.
00:26:11I got shot three times, twice in my stomach, one in my back.
00:26:17And I remember sitting there waiting for the ambulance to come.
00:26:21I'm sitting there bleeding out, and it still hits me to this day thinking about that kind of stuff, you
00:26:25know?
00:26:27Yeah, I'm getting teary-eyed a little bit thinking about it.
00:26:32Every single day, I've been waiting for this moment, a time where we can stand up for what is right.
00:26:37And for so long, many of us were always waiting for somebody else to do it.
00:26:42People, the time is right now.
00:26:45Can everybody say that one time?
00:26:47On the count of three, say the time is now.
00:26:49One, two, three.
00:26:50The time is now.
00:26:51Say it again.
00:26:52The time is now.
00:26:53Outer.
00:26:54The time is now.
00:26:55The time is right now.
00:27:07When you think about the historical context of black men, black people in this country in general,
00:27:11when we wake up in the morning, there's no good reason for us to have any faith in the state.
00:27:19Let's start the diet right now.
00:27:2046 seconds.
00:27:37Protesters have been on the streets of Richmond for several weeks now.
00:27:40One-time capital of the Confederacy is in the throes of change as statues commemorating Confederate leaders come down.
00:27:50We're going in from over here.
00:27:56You know, they really did these streets.
00:27:59I'm deadly afraid of COVID, but I decided one Sunday and said, you know what?
00:28:05I'm stepping out on faith.
00:28:07I'm going down to see what it's about.
00:28:13I'm at the monument right now as we speak.
00:28:23Each experience I had out here has been different.
00:28:29I come early and I leave before it gets too late.
00:28:43One evening, I didn't understand what was happening when I saw like 14 police cars coming up in front of
00:28:49the area.
00:28:54And I just begged them to allow me to go to my car and leave.
00:28:58I just want to go home, please.
00:29:00I just want to go home.
00:29:04My car is on my brother.
00:29:06Can you get out of here?
00:29:07Can you get away in your car?
00:29:09We'll be out of here just a second.
00:29:10We'll be out of here just a second.
00:29:11You can get away in your car.
00:29:13And they were very kind.
00:29:14They even helped me get out and I was gone.
00:29:20Caucasian people, white people that I've known for years, are very decent people on the surface.
00:29:26I don't understand why they can't see what we're seeing.
00:29:35If anybody had told us this was going to end up happening, nobody would have believed it.
00:29:40Oh, I'd like to say racism out there.
00:29:42That's what it is.
00:29:44I got more black friends than I could ever imagine.
00:29:47I got one black friend that I specifically tell people that that's my brother.
00:29:52And we talk about it all the time.
00:29:54It's ridiculous, man.
00:29:55People that are doing all this are just out just to wreck stuff.
00:29:58My same buddy that I called my brother, he said, dude, he said, man, it's crazy because
00:30:02they say it's a Black Lives Matter thing, but yet they're going in and destroying old
00:30:06black people's businesses that live in Richmond.
00:30:09Yeah.
00:30:10You know what I mean?
00:30:12I don't know how everything got so race-oriented all of a sudden here within the past year,
00:30:18honestly.
00:30:20That kind of blows my mind.
00:30:25So as far as the platform or the cause that the Black Lives Matter rallies are for, I think
00:30:31raising awareness for police brutality, sure, if you want to focus on any aspect of it that
00:30:38could have a positive effect on the American people, you could bring up that one aspect
00:30:43of it.
00:30:45But it doesn't just happen to black folks.
00:30:47It happens to white folks.
00:30:49It happens to Asian folks.
00:30:51It happens across all walks of life, no matter what color you are, no matter what race you
00:30:56are.
00:30:59We all need to work together in a common cause to defend our freedoms, not to fight against
00:31:06each other and empower more regulation against us.
00:31:23The fight is real, but it's always been here.
00:31:27Now it's to the surface in 2020.
00:31:29Now where do we go from here?
00:31:36It's mainly just for insurance purposes.
00:31:39If it did get vandalized or looted.
00:31:41It's not fair for someone like me who is trying to make this community better, and next thing
00:31:49you know, someone just takes it away and ruins the whole business itself.
00:31:55There is no racism in America, and at the moment, I think it's just getting worse.
00:32:02There's nothing wrong with protesting.
00:32:03You can protest all you want.
00:32:05We live in America.
00:32:07But when you start vandalizing small businesses, that part is wrong.
00:32:19Overnight, chaos in the streets of Chicago.
00:32:22Looting taking place around the city.
00:32:24Store windows broken, intense police presence, and fires.
00:32:28Officers now asking for the public to take a step back and work with police before more
00:32:33people get hurt.
00:32:35When I first woke up from my lung transplant, I was a vegetable.
00:32:39I couldn't move a finger.
00:32:40I couldn't, you know, I could barely wiggle my toes.
00:32:43I couldn't talk.
00:32:45I was, like, really disoriented at the time.
00:32:48I didn't realize that I was intubated, sedated for six weeks.
00:32:58The TV would be on, and, you know, they would talk about all these riots that were happening,
00:33:03and George Floyd, and protests.
00:33:07The world was so ugly.
00:33:16Millions of people all across America are casting their votes.
00:33:19It has been a campaign year unlike any other.
00:33:21Now, 100 million people have voted on record.
00:33:24Breaking early voting continues.
00:33:28I have someone else's lungs, and it'd be like a slap in the face if I didn't try my hardest.
00:33:34You're here to vote?
00:33:35Mm-hmm.
00:33:35Okay, so you're going to go through the revolving door?
00:33:37My number one topic of interest during this election is health care reform.
00:33:43I started working one month after my lung transplant.
00:33:48You know, I shouldn't have to have felt obligated to do so because, you know, just because I needed
00:33:54my health insurance to recover.
00:34:01I'm going to have to move this on now.
00:34:06You're supposed to find people that represent you.
00:34:08Donald Trump cannot represent me.
00:34:10He does not represent my beliefs.
00:34:12Of course, I can't vote for Joe Biden for the very same reason.
00:34:15I thank you for voting.
00:34:17I thank you for voting.
00:34:21I will sleep good tonight because someday, as a Christian, I believe Christ will return
00:34:29and all wrongs will be righted and justice will prevail.
00:34:32My job is to keep speaking the truth as a minister.
00:34:38Do you have a pen?
00:34:39You got to put your address.
00:34:40It literally sits on the top.
00:34:42It's going to invalidate if you don't sign it.
00:34:48I would rather not say who I voted for.
00:34:50I just want her to come back to normal.
00:34:52That's all I'm praying for, really.
00:34:55I just vote for myself.
00:34:56Or I vote for the lady.
00:34:57No, I vote for the lady.
00:34:58You voted for that lady.
00:35:00You never know her name.
00:35:01I don't know who she is, but it seems like she's the only lady.
00:35:05So I vote for the lady.
00:35:08I vote for the woman.
00:35:15Joe Biden, now in the lead in Pennsylvania, in the lead in Georgia.
00:35:18Putting him over the 270 electoral votes he needs.
00:35:22Joe Biden has been elected the 46th president of the United States.
00:35:25The people of this nation have spoken.
00:35:29They've delivered us a clear victory.
00:35:32A convincing victory.
00:35:41I was relieved to the point where it's like, okay, this step has been handled.
00:35:46Now, what's the next step?
00:35:47You know, it's not over.
00:35:48This is just the beginning.
00:35:49What do you guys think of the election?
00:35:50Oh, yeah!
00:35:52We're good.
00:35:53We're good.
00:35:54Meantime, the Trump campaign is promising a new round of lawsuits today.
00:35:58Trump tonight again falsely claiming victory.
00:36:01Still fueling his supporters, pledging it isn't over yet.
00:36:04Across the country, pro-Trump protesters gathering at state capitals.
00:36:12I really was just so sick of politics, I wanted to write in Jesus.
00:36:17But that doesn't do anything, so I was surprised.
00:36:20I felt prompted to vote for Trump.
00:36:24No, we're not standing down.
00:36:26We're here.
00:36:26We're going to stand.
00:36:27We're going to stand fast.
00:36:28We're going to wait for orders.
00:36:29When those orders come down...
00:36:34I have no regrets about voting for the libertarian candidate.
00:36:38I'm tired of people voting for the lesser of two evils.
00:36:43It wouldn't really matter who got in office.
00:36:45I feel like they're one of the same.
00:36:48I think our culture is going to stay divided.
00:36:51The division that has been created here recently is something that we've regressed to.
00:36:58that's going to take generations to recover.
00:37:01I think our culture is going to be horribly scarred by this.
00:37:07Our country is deeply divided.
00:37:10We have class divisions.
00:37:13We have racial divisions.
00:37:15It's like there's two completely different realities.
00:37:21Anyone who thinks that the election getting called is the end of the work that needs to be done...
00:37:27All right, this is a nasal swab.
00:37:29...is mistaken.
00:37:34Kenny?
00:37:35Look at me.
00:37:37Mirame.
00:37:39I had to undergo this other procedure.
00:37:44And this is what it looked like after.
00:37:48Sometimes before, when I used to feel so bad, I would have these fevers and these night chills, and I'd
00:37:53just feel so bad.
00:37:54So I'm like, what if I don't wake up in the morning?
00:37:59I'm grateful that I have my family, but I also want to have, like, some sort of quality of life.
00:38:07I don't want to live a life where it hurts to laugh.
00:38:15There's just so much I want to do.

01:06:59…
01:07:01…
01:07:02So exciting.
01:07:10Dear Heavenly Father, please be with the kids while they are away so that they will be protected and have
01:07:15a good time.
01:07:16And feel thy love and guidance.
01:07:18I have totally new compassion and understanding
01:07:22for the people I've spoke with that say
01:07:24they stopped going to church
01:07:25because they've lost trust in institutions.
01:07:28I sought help from religious leaders
01:07:32in regards to struggles in my marriage,
01:07:34and there was a lot of pain and bitterness involved
01:07:38when I was processing...
01:07:41Sorry.
01:07:43Just looking back at how much I was suffering and hurting.
01:07:52And it was minimized and not fully understood.
01:07:57So when we talk about faith, I don't think about religion.
01:08:01Religion has failed me.
01:08:06Are you excited?
01:08:07You know where we're going?
01:08:10My former spouse, he hated dogs,
01:08:13so I love having a dog in the house.
01:08:15I wanted one ever since I was a kid.
01:08:18I'm going to school.
01:08:20I now have a degree in mind that I want to get
01:08:22having to do with family services
01:08:24to help families that are going through tough times.
01:08:28Okay, do you want me to throw it?
01:08:29We'll get it.
01:08:30I am now Amy Kelly and officially divorced,
01:08:36mom of six kids, love and life.
01:08:45Good morning.
01:08:46Good morning.
01:08:46How are you?
01:08:48I'm good.
01:08:54My dad hired me to oversee our educational operations
01:08:59at our church.
01:09:00Class begins on Friday, November the 6th,
01:09:05and then I'm going to hit okay.
01:09:07I love sitting with my dad and getting to learn from him.
01:09:11He's so wise in so many areas.
01:09:14I don't have a lot of experience with this,
01:09:16but it needs to be done.
01:09:19It needs to be done.
01:09:22I had wanted to be a doctor when I graduated.
01:09:26At the end of the day,
01:09:27I would rather be in the will of God
01:09:31than be selfish and do what I would prefer
01:09:35because I would really be miserable
01:09:38if I was just only doing what I wanted.
01:09:44Ella exhibits leadership and courage and confidence.
01:09:49I think she would make a wonderful pastor's wife,
01:09:53and I think that probably that's going to be her role.
01:09:58Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
01:10:05That saved a wretch like me
01:10:13I once was lost
01:10:18But now I am found
01:10:22I was blind
01:10:24But now I see
01:10:30I'm supposed to serve my dad
01:10:33And I think I'm supposed to marry a pastor
01:10:36And that is an honorable role
01:10:38I don't see that as lesser in any way
01:10:45Look at this
01:10:48My granddaughter, Corrielle
01:10:50I want to be able to, you know, spend time with her
01:10:54And, you know, and do ice cream
01:10:56Okay, I go run
01:10:58Okay, go put on some socks and some sneakers
01:11:04It's just hard, man
01:11:05I never thought that, you know, life would be hard
01:11:09But it really is
01:11:12And the people that think it's not
01:11:15They got giving some stuff
01:11:16They got a head start
01:11:20I got a second job
01:11:25Just to be able to be in position to help
01:11:31I'm praying for a break
01:11:40But at least it didn't get down
01:11:42Hold on, go back to this photo
01:11:44It doesn't look like it
01:11:46Like all that black mold on the ceiling
01:11:48It doesn't look like it came down into the walls
01:11:50Yeah
01:11:50Look at all the mold and the insulation
01:11:53I saw a gentleman named Mark on the film
01:11:57My name is Mark Curtis
01:11:59I own a construction company
01:12:02And then I've discovered that he was from the outskirts of Richmond
01:12:06Oh, yeah, look at this all washed out over here
01:12:09Yeah, oh, yeah
01:12:10That washed out
01:12:11Oh, good grief
01:12:12Huh?
01:12:13That's bad
01:12:14Yeah
01:12:14You want to have stairs rebuilt in this thing?
01:12:18What do you think?
01:12:19I mean, it'd probably be nice if you're trying to come down in the yard from up there
01:12:23I say yes then
01:12:25I saw you in an interview
01:12:28Which one?
01:12:29I don't know what one I saw
01:12:30But, you know, we don't agree on a lot of things
01:12:35It don't matter
01:12:37But at the end of the day
01:12:38It's human nature
01:12:39At the end of the day, life is life
01:12:43I just personally have this mindset that anybody really wants Trump wants America white again
01:12:49I said, but trust me, it ain't gonna never be white again
01:12:52Yeah, see, I don't, I, and I don't see that
01:12:54And I don't think that that's the case
01:12:56I, I, I, I choose
01:12:58It's an undertone message sent to the white folks saying
01:13:02You think so?
01:13:02I clearly do
01:13:03Make America Great Again is clearly that
01:13:07I clearly strongly believe, and I didn't budge from it
01:13:11That make America great again
01:13:13Is make it white again
01:13:15We didn't agree
01:13:17My father served his country
01:13:19And the best job he could get was a janitor
01:13:21It was that era where black people just couldn't, you know
01:13:25We weren't on the spectrum to be much more than what they wanted us to be
01:13:30I think that still happens today
01:13:31Oh, hell yeah it happened
01:13:33Well, no, no, I'm just talking about our service members
01:13:35Our service members, and I don't care, you know, white, black, indifferent, whatever
01:13:38I think so many
01:13:40We agree that race, race relations is a problem
01:13:43And it's been existing for a long time
01:13:47At least I agreed to that, that it was
01:13:50Well, it was supposed to be about controlling our border
01:13:53Getting fuel prices lowered, getting our interest rates down
01:13:56That's how he, that's how he advertised it
01:13:59That's how he fed us
01:13:59Yes
01:14:00But that's how, that's how he advertised it
01:14:02Well, where has that gone now?
01:14:03How, how much does it cost you to fill up your car now?
01:14:06I drive
01:14:07$60, $70
01:14:08It took me over an hour to drive here this morning
01:14:10Talk about the fuel I'm using up every day
01:14:12Yeah
01:14:13All right, Ms. Lewis, I'm going
01:14:14I'm over, I'm off to my next appointment
01:14:16I'll see you
01:14:17Bye
01:14:18Bye
01:14:21I would say I am surprised at how
01:14:27Devoted she is, I guess you could say
01:14:31To
01:14:34The racial
01:14:35The racial divide
01:14:42You know, perhaps she
01:14:46Has a very different perspective of that
01:14:49Just based on her experience
01:14:53And people who do have differing opinions
01:14:55Should be able to talk and listen
01:14:59Not just talk
01:15:02So I thought it was a good meeting
01:15:07100 days until the midterm election
01:15:11Redistricting could bolster Republican
01:15:13Democrats are pursuing five extra seats
01:15:15Rising support for Democratic Socialism
01:15:17Americans no longer trust the very industries and institutions
01:15:21That keep the country afloat
01:15:30I'm weighing out Republican, Democrat, and Libertarian
01:15:33Because those are the three options for the primaries
01:15:35And going to select them according to which individual I feel is best
01:15:40Not the label
01:15:43Our founding fathers built this country on independence
01:15:47And they didn't just want independence as far as they agreed
01:15:51They wanted everybody to have their own beliefs, opinions, and thoughts
01:15:55Freedom means being able to think, act, speak, wish, dream, breathe
01:16:03Anything as you want, uninhibited
01:16:21I haven't really paid attention to midterms really like
01:16:25Because we have a lot of stuff going on
01:16:40But hopefully there's some sort of change, you know, that you can actually see
01:16:45Just asking just a little bit of help here and there would help the middle class really
01:16:51First in the beginning, all the parents first come here
01:16:54They're having a hard life
01:16:56But then when the kids grow up, their life is going to get easier
01:17:02I want to give birth to a child that have an easy life
01:17:05Like, because I work hard
01:17:10Over the time, everything will be better
01:17:19I don't want government handouts for anything
01:17:26I want to know who is truly going to look out for the best interest
01:17:31Of not just my family, but it should be all families
01:17:35How can I best take care of my family?
01:17:40M-I-T-A-Y-O
01:17:45All right, let's do it
01:17:46We're going to trade, I got some hot commodities for you
01:17:49All right
01:17:51There we go
01:17:54I watch my family work very hard
01:17:56Thank you guys
01:17:57Not only for their citizenship, but to acclimate in this country
01:18:00And I want people to represent that
01:18:02I want the people who understand that and who support that
01:18:06To be the ones that are in office
01:18:09I did not vote for Royce Wright this time around
01:18:12I wish him the best of luck
01:18:13And I wish him nothing but success
01:18:15But I definitely disagree with many of his views
01:18:22The Republican Party of Minnesota calling on U.S. Senate candidate Royce White
01:18:27One of their own
01:18:28To suspend his campaign
01:18:30A Minnesota judge ruled there were credible evidence of threats of harm toward his ex-wife
01:18:35And his son
01:18:36White has since gone on the offensive today
01:18:39Sounding off in several social media posts
01:18:41Denying the accusations
01:18:45No, I mean, it's a farce though
01:18:48Asking me to step down from the campaign
01:18:52Has nothing to do with the case
01:18:53It's, you know
01:18:55It's something they wanted anyway
01:18:57Which is, they're irrelevant anyway
01:18:59Minnesota Republican Party's irrelevant
01:19:17The biggest thing that's coming up that has my attention is the midterm elections
01:19:22It's going to tell us a lot about what the next steps are
01:19:29And what the direction is going to be
01:19:44I'm still in the wait and see phase
01:19:48In terms of whether or not I want to leave the United States permanently
01:19:53It's slower here
01:20:01I just have to make that conscious choice to turn the TV off
01:20:04Put my phone down
01:20:07And breathe
01:20:27It might be my PTSD speaking a little bit
01:20:29But, you know, it's almost inevitable in these times
01:20:34Not to have some form of hurt and pain and struggle that people go through
01:20:39Regardless of your socioeconomic status
01:20:43I think I figured it out
01:20:47I'm going to paint the lips
01:20:49With some of the smile open
01:20:50So it's going to be a smile like this
01:20:52And these white words would be like the teeth
01:20:56Yeah
01:21:02One day I'm going to make a piece
01:21:04That somebody else will feel those feelings
01:21:07And it'll do something for them
01:21:08And it can live far beyond me
01:21:11You've seen artwork throughout history
01:21:13Used for all different types of activism
01:21:16You know, freedom of expression
01:21:18It's the pulse of the community
01:21:26Just like a human body can have emotions
01:21:37I feel that a body of people can have emotions
01:21:51I feel like people forget how to be neighbors by somebody
01:21:54Who may not have the same background as you
01:21:56And people are forgetting how to love somebody
01:21:58That may not love you
01:22:02I think sometimes we look too much on a larger level
01:22:07And we forget about the little things
01:22:41And we forget about the little things
01:22:44And we forget about the little things
01:22:44And we forget about the little things
01:22:49And we forget about the little things
01:22:52And we forget about the little things
