00:00Well increasing signs that Labour are really overplaying their hand when it comes to the EU
00:06to Brexit. We've seen ridiculous comments from Labour recently on Brexit and we even had the
00:13MI5 chief today saying that those in authority must be careful not to exaggerate the impact
00:21of any Russian interference and bots otherwise you risk doing the Kremlin's job for them and
00:29we've seen of course the previous government position absolutely clear there was no successful
00:35Russian interference but look in terms of the government and their agenda right now
00:41well it's a soft on crime government we're now seeing domestic abusers, stalkers and violent
00:49offenders being released early absolutely shocking stuff and we're now getting a worldwide reputation
00:56in terms of our welfare state having exploded and being utterly out of control. 7 million people
01:03around 10% of the population now claiming at least one or more sickness or disability benefit. Meanwhile
01:12when it comes to Brexit and listening to the people of this country we were told weren't we that the
01:18EU
01:18referendum in 2016 once in a lifetime once in a generation and yet here come Labour not only
01:27seeking to reverse Brexit but not even proposing doing it via a referendum just proposing doing it via
01:35the Labour manifesto and this was Labour MP Emily Thornberry laying out her position on Sky.
01:43Has Andy Burnham actually just reopened the Brexit wars? He said he didn't want to but it's happened
01:48hasn't it? No. I think what's happened is that we have to have a discussion we can't it's not like
01:54some sort of
01:55I don't know sacred cow I mean why shouldn't we talk about it why shouldn't we talk about when the
02:00majority of
02:01people agree with us or agree with me which is that Brexit was a disaster and we ought to get
02:06back into
02:07the European Union most people think that. But well so just because it's divisive and uncomfortable
02:11just because it's divisive uncomfortable been bad for the economy and nobody can point to anything that's
02:16really better as a result of being Brexit. No I was making the opposite point I was saying having the
02:19debate is divisive but you're like well get over it. Yeah get over it I mean we're going to have
02:23to
02:23we're going to have to debate it I mean I hope it's in the next manifesto and you know one
02:28of the
02:28reasons why people should vote Labour next time. Yeah because you've said you don't think there needs
02:32to be another referendum but you're quite a minority most people think there does have.
02:35I know well there we are. Can you justify that though? Um well we need to have a democratic decision
02:42so we ought to be putting it um somehow I don't think we need to have another referendum but what
02:47we can do is have it in the manifesto and then people can have a choice do they want to
02:51have this
02:52current you know relationship with the European Union or do they want to be back in the EU if that's
02:57what our policy is that's what I would say I would say let's not bother with another referendum let's
03:01just let's just have it as a general election. I have to say you know I think that's a pretty
03:06dismissive disgusting attitude of the 17.4 million that voted for Brexit and indeed Remainers who actually
03:16respect the referendum result and I think this is going to seriously seriously backfire on Labour and
03:25just to end let's remind ourselves again before he became Prime Minister just before he became Prime
03:30Minister this is what Andy Burnham used to say about Brexit quite the difference eh?
03:38I'm not proposing that the UK considers rejoining the EU I respect the decision that was made at the
03:44referendum and it's going to undermine everything said I've said about strengthening democracy if we don't
03:51respect that vote I would respect that vote
