00:00Well, look, we've just seen another absolutely crazy election result, local by-election result
00:06this week. Before I get to that, though, in terms of the plans from reform, where you can see here,
00:13major, major plans of essentially a newspaper, a small newspaper, to be sent to millions of houses.
00:22Claims there that this is the biggest paper order in the world ahead of that first edition.
00:30And this reform stepping up. As to the Labour government, well, it's pretty clear now
00:37they have major, major intentions to try and reverse Brexit. And also, you've even got the
00:44Prime Minister Andy Burnham even using that left wing term now, irregular instead of illegal migration.
00:52We meet today with a UK-EU summit looming towards the end of the year.
01:00And I am very committed to securing deeper cooperation as a result of this summit and
01:08seeing if we can bring the UK closer to Europe, particularly in the interest of economic growth
01:14and also collaboration on irregular migration. So we've had an excellent discussion today and we
01:22will look to see if we can turn the summit into a good outcome for the EU, but also for
01:31the UK as well.
01:33And look, what we've just seen in terms of a local by-election result is the same old story.
01:39So what you've got here, Amber Valley this week, ends up being a green gain from the Conservatives.
01:48And, you know, there's the Kemi bounce, an absolute collapse there for the Tories.
01:54Labour down a bit as well, restore on about 11%, but reform the main challenger there again on 27%.
02:01But the Greens with 29.5% actually gaining that seat.
02:08And you've seen this happen now a few times with these very bizarre outcomes that essentially end up
02:16with a left wing party like the Greens winning.
02:19And you can see that if roughly one in 11 Conservative and Restore voters had backed reform,
02:26it would have been a reform gain.
02:27And you've seen this happen time and time again recently.
02:30You've seen it in Blackpool.
02:33You've seen it in Northumberland there.
02:35And you've seen it in Amber Valley now as well with reform as the main challenger.
02:43But the end result there being a win there for a left wing party.
02:48So once again, I think that's a bit of a wake up call.
