00:00Now, leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi will host a high tea for India
00:05Bloc MPs, civil society members and student organizations at his New Delhi residence today.
00:11The gathering comes a day after opposition leaders, activists and civil society representatives
00:16took part in a march for democracy in the national capital and moved the Supreme Court
00:21over allegations of electoral irregularities and vote chori.
00:25The high tea is scheduled for 4pm at Rahul Gandhi's residence on Sunehri Bagh Road
00:30and will follow a joint press conference by India Bloc leaders in the afternoon.
00:35The opposition has challenged the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision or SIR of electoral rolls
00:41alleging irregularities in the voter list revision process.
00:44The opposition Bloc has sought judicial intervention and greater scrutiny of the process.
00:49Several prominent leaders including Congress President Malikarjit Khadge,
00:53Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav and Trinamul Congress Chief Mamata Banerji
00:58participated in Monday's March.
01:00The high tea is expected to bring opposition leaders and civil society representatives together
01:05following the protest and the filing of the petition of the India Bloc
01:09which continues its challenge over electoral roll revision
01:12and alleged poll irregularities in the courtroom and on the streets as well.
01:16The high tea is expected to bring opposition to the negative and counteract
01:54So after we've been seeing high drama play out on the streets of the opposition MPs,
02:00they've been taking out protests every day, either towards the Supreme Court, they've
02:03been trying to march, they even met President Murmur one day and now after they have filed
02:08a petition in Supreme Court, which of course is still waited because there are some irregularities
02:13in this, they are now going to hold a tea meet today at 4pm at Rahul Gandhi's residence.
02:18They are all going to meet and listen in to a reaction coming in as well.
02:50So that was Sanjay Rawat also commenting on the meet that is going to happen today.
02:54He's saying that it's not really a strategy meet, it's going to be about deciding what
02:59direction the opposition MPs now take.
03:01All of the MPs are in Delhi, they've been staging protests day in and day out.
03:05So today we're seeing that they're going to meet for a tea meet today at 4pm at Rahul Gandhi's residence.
03:11Remember, we've been seeing that the opposition MPs have been in fact meeting for lunches.
03:15We've seen lunch diplomacy rollout and then protests which have followed in the capital
03:20and now we're seeing that a tea meet is also happened at 4pm today.
03:25For more on that, we have Rahul Gautam joining in.
03:27Rahul, so far we've been seeing action on the streets and of course we've also been seeing
03:31a lot of lunch diplomacy happening.
03:33Today it's a break from that, today they're going to have a later meeting at 4pm, a tea meet
03:38so to say.
03:39And what are they really going to decide in this meeting?
03:42What details do we have?
03:44Well, leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi has called all the senior India Bloc leaders along
03:50with their Rajasrabai and Lokasrabai MPs to his residence for a tea at 4pm this evening
03:56at 5pm, which is the office of Rahul Gandhi.
04:01And in fact, we've been informed that after, you know, after the tea and after the meeting
04:06that is supposed to take place between all these senior leaders, a press conference will
04:11also take place wherein all the senior leaders are going to breathe about the future course
04:15of action as far as, you know, ongoing agitation against CSD Ganesh Kumar is concerned.
04:21We all know that how we have passed one week, we have seen how opposition MPs are on the
04:28streets, they are getting detained, taking out protest marches, and therefore, finally,
04:32they have now approached Supreme Court as well on this issue.
04:35So, in order to keep this issue alive, in order to keep this momentum going, these leaders
04:41are going to meet today.
04:42That includes Rahul Gandhi, Achilles Rala might be there, and we've been informed that, you
04:50know, representatives from all the parties that are part of India Bloc are going to be
04:53there.
04:54And they're going to recalibrate their strategy as to how they're going to take this forward.
04:58One thing that is very important here, Jessica, that the opposition seems to have, you know,
05:04at least they believe that they have got an apt opportunity to exert more pressure on
05:09government.
05:10And that's why we've seen constant protests happening on Delhi Street.
05:14And in fact, after today's meeting, I expect that another chart or another calendar would
05:21be shared with media wherein they're going to keep on hammering upon the government, upon
05:25CAC, demanding his resignation, demanding his arrest, in fact.
05:29So, in order to recalibrate and re-strategize, you can say, all the India Bloc is going to
05:34come together.
05:34And it seems that this issue of SIR and CAC Yanish Kumar removal has become a sort of rally
05:40point, which is bringing all parties together.
05:43Right.
05:43We're also learning that student organizations and activists have been called to this meeting
05:47as well.
05:48Yesterday, we saw student organizations Neha Bora, ISA, SFI also coming to the protest rally,
05:53which happened yesterday.
05:54So, are we likely going to see some more familiar faces?
05:57Is CGP possibly going to be a part of this?
05:59Because we've seen that they have been maintaining their distance from Congress and its protests
06:03so far.
06:06Rahul Gandhi has been saying, Jessica, that all protests are one.
06:10We specifically asked him about CGP, to which he didn't reply.
06:14He didn't name CGP, but he said that all protests are one and they are aiming for one
06:19demand they are.
06:26Right.
06:26We seem to have lost connection with Rahul.
06:28He's on the ground tracking the latest updates for us.
06:30But we do know that the opposition India Bloc MPs are going to meet today.
06:34They have been protesting on the streets.
06:36They have, in fact, taken this to the courtroom as well.
06:39So, today, after 4pm, we can expect some new direction from the opposition MPs as well.
06:44So, let's go ahead.
06:45Let's go ahead.
06:45Now, let's go ahead.
06:45Let's go ahead.
06:45Let's go ahead.
