00:00Maria is right behind where the bus is and right there was Dipinder Huda with other senior leaders of the
00:07Congress Party.
00:09The orange bus is of course a little bit of irony there for Rahul Gandhi.
00:13He's a light saffron bus there making its way to right now towards the Supreme Court.
00:21But I'm going to give you a sense viewers on the kind of people that we are seeing.
00:25While of course there is a huge chunk that has come in here from various political parties but there are
00:33also a lot of students who have joined in the movement on what they call is a movement.
00:38Yesterday itself some of them were there they said that force was used against them.
00:44On the left bit by bit huge chunks coming in joining in this is all strategy.
00:53You know it was decided of what my sources were telling me from the Congress that various parts they kept
01:02trying to accumulate workers of the Congress,
01:05Seva Dal workers and they would join the movement at you know or the protests at various levels.
01:11This of course let's try and get in a word.
01:13Will you speak with us?
01:15Alright.
01:16A lot of people who are coming in joining the protests of their own volition.
01:20Are you here for the protest ma'am?
01:21Yes.
01:22Why are you here?
01:23Well just let me just go.
01:25Why can't we go?
01:27I have to preserve my one right which is my vote right.
01:31If that is wrong then being tabled as the largest democracy in this world has failed.
01:38I want to know what is the truth.
01:40Are you aligned to a political party?
01:42Absolutely not.
01:43You're here of your own volition.
01:44I'm here for the truth.
01:46Can someone give me the truth and I'm happy to know.
01:48If they say it's all free and fair please go ahead.
01:51Please be careful.
01:54Thank you for speaking with us.
01:56Let's try and get in more people.
01:58Sir can we speak with you?
02:00Can we speak with you?
02:01Why are you here?
02:02I can speak to the kids.
02:03The kids.
02:04Why are you guys here?
02:05Are you here for the protests?
02:06Yeah we're here for the protests.
02:07And why?
02:08In what capacity?
02:09What brings you here?
02:09To be, to use our privilege and to be innocent bystanders to make sure that people who are
02:14not as privileged if they're being, if their rights are being violated that we can document
02:17those violations.
02:19And whether it's with a camera, whether it's with our eyes, whether it's with our small
02:23in circles, there's also so much sort of suppression online in terms of, what do you
02:30call it, content bans and restrictions and people's accounts going banned.
02:33If we don't show up in person, we're not going to get the...
02:36Are you aligned to a political party?
02:39Look, I think party politics is stupid.
02:41It's all populist to an extent.
02:43I understand that that's the reality of every country in the world.
02:47So, to an extent, yes, I have to align myself with the party.
02:51What I am aligned with is institutions, accountability, systems that work.
02:55Without those systems, we're not going to be able to achieve anything.
02:59Everyone in India has a cricketer or an actor or a politician that they're sort of fanatics
03:04for.
03:04I don't believe in that system.
03:05I think it's stupid.
03:06I think that's what causes a lot of the problems that we suffer from.
03:08I think the solution to that is relying on those community-based institutions and processes.
03:13One of them is having a CAC, a CEC, which is accountable to his other election commissioners
03:20and also an appointment process for those election commissioners.
03:23So, you're here to be counted for?
03:24Yes.
03:25Good luck.
03:25Be safe.
03:26All right.
03:27Okay.
03:27So, you know what's happening, Maria, and I'm going to go into a break and Maria and I
03:32will be back.
03:32That is a parallel stream.
03:34There are two streams running here.
03:37All right.
03:38So, what you can see right in the middle is Dipinder Huda, Tejasvi Yadav.
03:43Supriya Shrineet, Sanjay Rao, my camera has the vantage point.
03:50Bupinder Huda as well on the bus that you can see on.
03:54All right.
03:54So, you can see on the bus right there.
03:56Priyank Khadge I can see on the bus as the first bus rolls in with leaders of the India
04:03alliance.
04:03But what I can tell our viewers before we get into a break is there are two streams which
04:08are running here.
04:09This one where political workers, political cadres, political leaders, this stream, which
04:15is, you know, the slip road of sorts, is where you see people from civil society, students
04:21and some of the family members as well who have come together to join in this protest.
04:27We're going to head into a break.
04:29Maria and I are going to be back on the other side.
04:31Stay with us.
