A wig seller has some unforgettable reasons for her strict no-return policy. After dealing with customers returning wigs that were stretched out, heavily worn, and smelling like everything from chicken grease to marijuana, she decided all sales would be final. But one unhappy customer wants her money back.

On Hot Bench, a plaintiff claims the two wigs she purchased looked nothing like the ones advertised in the seller's online videos. The defendant insists her no-return policy was clearly stated and that the plaintiff knew the rules before buying. The judges must sort through the complaints, the policy, and some rather colorful descriptions of previously returned merchandise.

Watch Hot Bench as a dispute over two wigs turns into a courtroom debate about customer expectations, final sales, and the unpleasant surprises that come with accepting returns.

00:00Why did you make that video about the no return policy?
00:02Because I have people that I used to order,
00:04they used to order from me a couple years ago before COVID hit,
00:08and I would get wigs returned,
00:09but I would get wigs smelling like chicken grease,
00:12I would get wigs smelling like animals,
00:14I would get wigs smelling like smoke and marijuana,
00:17and nobody ever wears the wig,
00:19but when I get it back, it's all stretched out,
00:21it's all nappy under the neck,
00:22so that's why I changed my policy,
00:24especially when COVID hit.
00:25Okay.
00:26I've been doing it for the last two years.
