Leaders of the INDIA alliance and Congress took to the streets of New Delhi, marching towards the Supreme Court of India to file a petition against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the SIR exercise. The judicial route follows CJI Suryakant's refusal to meet Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, citing principles of separation of powers and judicial propriety regarding sub judice matters. During the demonstrations, the opposition urged the CEC to step down, while leaders highlighted the backing of youth and civil society groups. The BJP firmly rejected the allegations, questioning the opposition's political motivations in the unfolding multi-front confrontation across parliament, streets, and courts.

00:00Alright viewers, where the Congress and the India Alliance are concerned, they've had
00:04a very good day.
00:05Maybe not in the office, but on the streets of the national capital.
00:08Rahul Gandhi had made a clarion call yesterday that all opposition comes together, unites
00:14as well as civil society and the youth.
00:17And today what we saw was a sea of support for him and the India Alliance while they
00:25were marching or rather in a bus going towards the Supreme Court of India to launch a petition
00:30there with the Chief Justice of the country.
00:33And alongside this time were not just India Alliance leaders, but also civil society members
00:41and a big chunk of youth support as well.
00:45Like I said, I don't think Congress has till now seen the kind of support that they saw
00:50today, even when it comes down to their own party and cadre.
00:55This is how the day panned out.
01:08A week on the streets, a refused meeting with the Chief Justice and now the opposition is
01:14taking its fight against the election commission to the Supreme Court.
01:18After CGI Suryakant declined to meet Rahul Gandhi and Malikar Junkarge and advised the opposition
01:24to seek legal relief through a judicial petition, India Bloc leaders marched towards the top
01:29court on Monday to file their plea against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the
01:34SIR exercise.
01:36The Congress, Samajwadi Party and Trinamul Congress leaders joined the march, with ISA President
01:41Neha Bora also accompanying the opposition.
01:44The message is clear.
01:46The India Bloc is not backing down.
01:53In his reply to Rahul Gandhi and Malikar Junkarge, CGI Suryakant said the issues raised by the
01:59opposition were already subjudice.
02:02Discussing pending cases in a meeting, he said would go against the principles of separation
02:07of powers and judicial propriety.
02:09The CGI made it clear that citizens and elected representatives could approach the court for
02:14legal relief but through the judicial process.
02:18And that is the route the opposition is now pursuing.
02:23It's full of India Alliance, all the colleagues are there and the march is a positive march and it
02:31shows the mind of every youth and every woman and every student of this country.
02:39You are the government, you are not only the government, you claim that you are perhaps the world's
02:43most popular leader as your Prime Minister.
02:46Every nation in the country bows to you, in fact they are scared of you.
02:50So find out who is supporting us.
02:52If you are thinking that such large leaders are doing something anti-national, they should
02:56not be allowed on the streets.
02:58But before the march, Rahul Gandhi had a direct message for the CEC.
03:05It is very easy for you, resign, get out of the way.
03:09No problem.
03:11We might even think of forgiving you, because that will be a service to this nation.
03:15That will be a service to this constitution.
03:16We know that you have been forced by the Prime Minister, by Amit Shah, by Mr. Doval, by Mr.
03:21Adani, we know it.
03:22And we understand the type of pressure you are under.
03:25And we are forgiving people.
