Opposition INDIA bloc leaders and workers took out a massive march from Constitution Club towards the Supreme Court, prompting chaotic scenes in the national capital. Protesters significantly outnumbered police personnel, pushing through the first layer of barricades on Bhagwan Das Road. Paramilitary forces were called in to contain the swelling crowd, resulting in clashes as protesters resisted efforts to push them back. Meanwhile, senior leaders including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Supriya Sule, and Akhilesh Yadav led the march aboard an open truck near Mandi House, flashing victory signs after 11 opposition petitioners filed a plea before the Supreme Court. Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi noted that the apex court would hear the petition tomorrow. With Jantar Mantar de-notified as a protest site by the government earlier in the day, the opposition affirmed that its demonstrations will continue as a sustained movement.

00:00Let me cut across to Sriya now, who's joining us for more details on this.
00:04Sriya, like we were discussing, today's protest is extremely unlike what we've seen over the weekend.
00:10The police presence is negligible, you know, compared to what we saw over the weekend.
00:16The vans which look like jails are not there.
00:19We do not see them in full force.
00:21It's, as some have said, the opposition parties have been given a free pass
00:25to just walk all the way from Constitution Club to the Supreme Court.
00:30But you're saying that now there seems to be some security walking in.
00:34Take us through the details, please.
00:42Well, you know, Sonal, I'm not going to mince words.
00:45The police is outnumbered today.
00:47Since the last two days, we saw 220 plus CRPF companies on the ground,
00:52more number of booths than protesters on the ground.
00:55But today's visual is a stark difference in the way Delhi police is treating
01:00the opposition India block march to the Supreme Court.
01:04You can see senior officials now atop the barricade requesting the crowd to move.
01:10But definitely, just looking at the sheer number,
01:13it is impossible for the police to actually contain this crowd
01:17or stop them to move forward to Supreme Court.
01:21Now, this is the second layer of barricade.
01:23Straight the road goes to Supreme Court.
01:25The number of crowd that we are seeing right now,
01:28it is swelling and only increasing.
01:31This looks like a law and order situation right now.
01:33And clearly, this is a stark difference in the way Delhi police is handling
01:38a CJP protest compared to an India block protest that we are seeing on the ground.
01:46Back with me, we are now getting news that the opposition seems like they have called this entire protest
01:54and march towards the Supreme Court a victory.
01:57We have before you, ladies and gentlemen, and everybody, all our viewers who are joining in right now,
02:03update.
02:04One is that 11 petitioners from across political parties, including the TMC, the SP, the RJD, the NCP, the Shiv
02:14Sena, the CPI, the CPM.
02:16Also, you know, from Kerala, we have members from the Indian Union Muslim League,
02:24all of them, some 11 petitioners who have taken their plea and managed to file a petition before the Supreme
02:30Court.
02:30Abhishek Manu Singh, we are saying that matter will be heard tomorrow.
02:34And all of this is happening inside the court, while outside you see unprecedented amount of numbers of protesters
02:42who have flocked to streets of the national capital.
02:46What is happening?
02:46They are making their way from Constitution Club all the way to the Supreme Court.
02:52And as our reporters are telling us, unlike over the weekend, today the protesters have completely outnumbered the police forces
03:00on the ground.
03:01This is an interesting day, because just this morning, the government has said that Janatar Mantar is no longer the
03:08site of the protest.
03:09And now, we are getting updates on what happens next as well.
03:13Let me cut across to my colleague, Maria Shakilna joining us.
03:15Maria, the opposition united in its cause, both outside on the streets, also the petitions inside the Supreme Court.
03:24Where is this protest going?
03:27What's the next course of action now?
03:35It's very clear that the opposition has decided that this will be a sustained protest.
03:40That it will not be a one-off-one.
03:42Remember, every time there is almost like a surprise element which has come in in this protest.
03:48Be it Rahul Gandhi making an effort to go to Jantar Mantar.
03:53Then they went to Raj Ghat.
03:55Multiple times they have been detained.
03:57And I am, to give you a sense of where exactly we are, this is next to Mandi House.
04:02That is the truck on which you can see Priya Gandhi, Vajra, Supriya Sule and all other leaders of the
04:09Congress party.
04:11Akhilesh, the one who has called senior leaders of all these political parties.
04:26Let me cut across to my colleague Shriya, also, who's been tracking all these details.
04:32Shriya, we got an update with our colleagues some time ago that there seems to be enhanced security presence just
04:39around the Supreme Court,
04:41around the last barricade that stands between the protesters and the Supreme Court as well.
04:46Take us through what really is unfolding there.
04:53Well, you know, the scenes are changing right now.
04:56We can see the paramilitary forces are now coming and trying to contain the crowd.
05:03This is the second barricade that is leading to the Supreme Court.
05:07Very chaotic situation.
05:10If this is not contained, there could be a law and order situation that we can see unfold at this
05:16very point.
05:16Because police are outnumbered, paramilitary forces are trying to cross the barricade and go to the protesters and stop them.
05:23But there are no buses over here to detain them.
05:27So that is also something.
05:28It will be difficult how they'll contain the crowd.
05:30But by the visuals itself, you can clearly see that how chaotic the situation it is unfolding at Bhagwanda's Road.
05:38If this amount of crowd is allowed to march forward to Supreme Court, that is also something that will be
05:45questionable.
05:46So clearly, the Delhi Police now using paramilitary on the ground, asking them to push the crowd back.
05:54But the crowd is also resisting and clearly they are clashing with the forces here at Bhagwanda's Road.
06:02Shreya, they're saying that the protesters have clearly outnumbered the police forces.
06:07Meanwhile, what is happening?
06:09The leaders of this protest, the India Bloc leaders, the petitioners in this case are now on top of a
06:16bus.
06:17There you see over there.
06:18Those are visuals from just a moment ago.
06:19Now we are told that ever since this protest got closer and ever since the petition actually got registered with
06:26the Supreme Court,
06:27the leaders there have made it into a victory bus.
06:30A victory dance of sorts is happening with the other opposition leaders as well.
06:35Remember, this is unity being seen of the India Alliance because the petitioners, 11 in number, cut across different political
06:43lines.
06:44We've seen people from the SP, from the TMC, we've seen from the RJD, we've seen from CPI, CPM, we've
06:55seen representation from Kerala and we've seen representation come from Maharashtra in forms of NCP and Shiv Sena as well.
07:04So now the opposition leaders with the petition registered inside the court outside are on top of that bus.
07:12Now that bus, you can call it an open truck really, which is making its way, continues to make its
07:18way to the Supreme Court.
07:20Now remember, it started about roughly two hours ago at the Constitution Club.
07:25From Constitution Club, they went all the way, almost halfway in their bus.
07:29Then they had to do a bit of a padhyatra and now they are back on the bus, we are
07:34told.
07:35The leaders are showing V sign, a victory mark, others breaking into a dance as well.
07:41But let me cut across back to get some live action.
07:44Shreya, could you give me an understanding of where the protest has reached?
07:50Our colleague Maria was saying that somewhere around Mundi House is where the truck of all the leaders is.
07:57Where are you exactly and do you see this protest going forward or is this that they've realized that you
08:05can't move forward and they're going to stay around that area?
08:16You're at Baghanda's road, this is the road that leads to the Supreme Court.
08:22So you can look around me, it's completely chaotic, it is jam-packed.
08:27Up until now, the crowd was outnumbering the forces.
08:32But now paramilitary has been called in and they are trying to push back the crowd so that they cannot
08:38march forward.
08:39This is the second layer of barricading.
08:41The first layer has already been breached and the Delhi police now trying to take control back here at Bhagwanda's
08:49road.
08:49With paramilitary being deployed on the ground, more forces have been pulled in.
08:55But Delhi police does not want them to be moving forward from this very point.
09:01This is a straight road to the Supreme Court.
09:03We'll have to wait and see.
09:05Because asking my cameraman Amit Badwar to show the crowd, the crowd is still huge.
09:10Clearly more than the boots on the ground who is trying to tackle and control the situation.
09:16And that's one of the reasons we see these clashes that are also breaking out between the protesters and the
09:21paramilitary forces in Delhi police who are trying to contain it.
