00:00Ahead of the opposition march to the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court security has been beefed up ahead of the
00:05opposition's march.
00:06Additional security is in place around the top court. Traffic near the Supreme Court has been diverted and the roads
00:13have also been barricaded.
00:15So the security has been beefed up ahead of the opposition's march. That will be beginning at 1.30pm today.
00:23And they had also sought an appointment with the CJI, but that has been rejected.
00:27Still, the march is on. They will be marching towards the Supreme Court starting from the Barakamba Road at 1
00:33.30pm.
00:34And ahead of the march, the Supreme Court security has been beefed up.
00:38There's additional security that is in place around the Apex Court.
00:42There is the traffic also near the Supreme Court has been diverted and the roads have also been barricaded.
00:48We've already told you about how six metro stations are also shut in view of this march.
00:55My colleague Ashutosh Mishra is now joining us from the Supreme Court, from outside the Supreme Court.
01:01Ashutosh, give us more details on the security deployment and how security has been beefed up ahead of the opposition
01:06march.
01:10Well, since the, you know, the court itself has called it on the Delhi police that you cannot barricade the
01:16Supreme Court.
01:17Remember, the lawyers had complained to the CJI that look how the access is being blocked.
01:20So the barricades have been removed. This is exactly the road.
01:23And just across, you know, the signal, that's the Supreme Court area.
01:26So the road is open.
01:27But just across on the roadside, look at the Rapid Action 4, Delhi police.
01:31And that's a huge and huge deployment have been done by the administration, by the police forces.
01:35Because this is exactly the roundabout and that's the area.
01:38This is Bhagwanda's road.
01:39This connects Bhagwanda's road.
01:41That road goes towards the Supreme Court.
01:43And from here, the Bhagwanda's road on the other side, just crossing the roundabout, connects to Barakhamba.
01:48The total distance lies from around 800 to 1000 meters.
01:51And this is where the India bloc leaders have announced to make a march.
01:55That's the Rapid Action 4, Delhi police on the roundabout have been placed.
01:58So since the road is open so far, no such divergence have been taking place.
02:02We see the traffic movement continues.
02:05But as and when they plan to reach here, since the CJI has refused to meet and be in a
02:09section 163 impose,
02:11if they walk towards from Barakhamba road to this roundabout,
02:14this is where more likely these India bloc leaders to be detained.
02:18Because just across on the other side, near the Mandi House metro station,
02:21we see dozens of the buses kept in a reserve.
02:23And that perhaps would likely to be used to detain the leaders and take into the detention center.
02:28But all across roundabout area, just turn the camera 360 degree.
02:32Rapid Action 4, look at on the other side, every such pocket.
02:35Delhi police, RAF, paramilitary, everyone have been placed in a huge number.
02:39The entire area have been heavily guarded.
02:42Announcement has also been made.
02:43Look at this.
02:44At Supreme Court area, Bhagwandas Road,
02:46announced that there is Section BNS 163 impose.
02:51No such gathering around.
02:53People should not be gathering here.
02:55While the road is open, barricades have not been placed.
02:58Majority enhancement quite, you know, strong we see.
03:01And even the female constables have also been placed here.
03:04So that's the arrangement of the Delhi police.
03:06If India bloc leaders start marching from Barakhamba towards Supreme Court area,
03:11more likely they all will be detained here and then taken to the detention center or further custody,
03:16whatever the due law code the police decided to take.
03:18But for now, the Supreme Court, the road that is going towards the Supreme Court area
03:22is now being heavily guarded and fortified by the police, RAF and paramilitary.
03:28Ashutosh, but the big question still remains that if the CJI has rejected the request for a meeting
03:35and the CJI has also advised that the opposition should take a judicial route,
03:39then what is the point of holding this march to the Supreme Court?
03:48leaders can answer.
03:50But when it comes to politics, sometimes even the optics does matter.
03:53Remember Rahul Gandhi and all the opposition leaders say that while the SIR process have been taken,
03:58even in the Supreme Court, it disagreed.
04:00It did not approve which column about Form 6 is concerned.
04:04They did not approve the Supreme Court.
04:05So clearly why they think that since there have been cases pertaining,
04:09which even the Supreme Court has not been satisfied,
04:11and since they are demanding removal of or the resignation of Janesh Kumar,
04:15more it looks like an optics.
04:17Why Rahul Gandhi decided to meet the Chief Justice of India?
04:20Remember, even tomorrow there is a hearing with this regard in the Supreme Court.
04:24The Chief Justice says that since the matter is subjudice, he is also listening.
04:27It will not be.
04:28We see the separation of power between the executive,
04:31between the democratically elected member of parliament,
04:34the parliamentary functionary or the separation of power.
04:37Sure, that's what the primary idea that comes behind,
04:40why CGI had refused to meeting with the leader of opposition.
04:43But it believes that since they also met the president,
04:46they are now planning to meet with the CGI, give them memorandum.
04:50So more often in a democracy, it looks like an optic that look how there have been,
04:54you know, systematically irregularity within the system, within the constitutional bodies.
04:59And this is more to give a message to the audience and also to the people that look how we
05:04are fighting from street
05:06to taking the matter to the people who are concerned, people who are responsible, who can take even decisions.
05:12So that more looks like a political optics and in a democratic way.
05:16From street, they have raised the issue in parliament, they are raising the issue on the street.
05:20They are also contesting the same issue in the court of law as well.
05:23Remember, so far protests, the couple simple moved to the Supreme Court.
05:28And then exactly we have seen the arbitrary and the prohibitory majors have been curtailed down,
05:33which was imposed by the police all across Delhi.
05:35No internet today shut down, not blindly, you know, the mindless barricading taking place,
05:40not mindless shutting down of all the metros taking place.
05:44So clearly that also, you know, gives certain amount of impact.
05:47And this is exactly how the people, you know, people in power and people in opposition fight.
05:52So that's what see more of the optics.
05:54It is show of strength by the opposition.
05:56And last one, remember yesterday when we were reporting all this area,
05:59it never looked down that this is going to be a protest, a weekend protest.
06:04Perhaps this is the first day of the week.
06:05And this is now going to be a stage two of the protest.
06:09Today we are seeing India block, 10 o'clock, the CJPs will be going to parliament street.
06:13The showdown will continue.
06:14If the Delhi police doesn't allow them to hold a peaceful protest, they will give another round of call.
06:18So that looks like we are standing exactly on the first day.
06:21And this is going to be a week full of optics, high voltage drama, action-packed week
06:27with regards to the protest against CEC Gyanesh Kumar.
06:30Hi, Ashutosh.
06:31Thank you for getting us all those details from outside the Supreme Court,
06:35where the security has been beefed up ahead of the opposition's march.
06:39That will begin at 1.30 p.m. today.
