Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad addresses the media to hit out at the opposition over voter list revisions and alleged street agitation politics. Addressing claims around voter roll purges and Electronic Voting Machines, Prasad stated that 'The dignity of democracy has destroyed the chronic anarchy which the opposition is trying to foment.' He outlined data regarding voter list scrutiny across the country, noting that approximately 2.89 crore deceased individuals, 6.3 crore shifted residents, 1 crore duplicate registrations, and 3 crore absent electors were detected during routine statutory processes. Prasad questioned opposition objections to sanitising the rolls and asked whether non-citizens or infiltrators should be allowed voting rights. He also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of disrespecting constitutional institutions and using meetings with the President to spread falsehoods, citing past instances involving the Election Commission under previous administrations.
