00:003.57 left, Daniels throws it to the right, and oh, Bland dropped an interception.
00:06Bland had that in his mitts, and that would have been a house call.
00:12He jumped in front of Ibuka, and that would have really brought the house down.
00:20And you screw that up too.
00:22A gimme pick six on a platter to make us forget about everything, and you manage to butcher that as
00:28well.
00:28Well, Stardown, Stardown brought to you by Wild Fork Foods here on Sean and RJ, Choppy and Bobby.
00:35We're at the stadium.
00:36Thank you, Kevin Walker, in for Pepe this morning.
00:38We are on the fan cam, Twitch, and YouTube after an embarrassing performance and loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
00:48We'll keep it to Stardown with Deron Bland.
00:51Drop the pick six down eight.
00:55Right there.
00:56And I think I was next to Choppy at camp, and I was just looking at Deron Bland, and I
01:04said to Choppy, or maybe it was someone else, RJ, I know you probably don't remember.
01:08Probably Cable.
01:08I was like, you know, Cable is important.
01:12Yes.
01:12He is really important.
01:14But I said, look at Deron, man.
01:17This is sheepish body language.
01:20There's no—was it you that I was saying this to?
01:23I think so, yeah.
01:23You have no idea.
01:26I was like, there's no dog.
01:28Maybe it was Jesse Holley.
01:29I was like, this can't be your number one corner.
01:33There's no dog in him.
01:34Schottenheimer said it last week.
01:36You can't tell whether he has three picks.
01:38You can't tell whether he has three interceptions.
01:39And, yeah, normally that can be a good thing to stay even keel.
01:44Deron Bland is empty inside, I believe, in terms of confidence.
01:50It's gone.
01:52He has, if it's possible, the cornerback yips.
01:56He just does.
01:58His ass got crossed up—
02:00Turf monster.
02:01By Allen Iverson on that 60-yard.
02:04Bobby, I think you said it's Tez Johnson they heave it up to.
02:07Tez Johnson and Ted Hurst, yeah.
02:09Look at the replay of Deron Bland falling the hell down for 64 yards.
02:18He has zero confidence.
02:20You talk about Michael Gallup going out there and trusting stuff.
02:22Whatever the yips are for a cornerback, I'm convinced Deron Bland has it.
02:27They made an evaluation mistake in making him a No. 1 corner.
02:31Obviously, the contract is looking horrific, just like it did for Trayvon Diggs.
02:35And he had an opportunity, but his brain is so scrambled, I'm convinced,
02:39he drops a gimme-pick-six to give him a two-point tying attempt.
02:43So if you go look at that play, it doesn't even—
02:48Which one?
02:48The one where he got crossed up and he fell on his butt.
02:51Like, it doesn't even look like he got his feet caught.
02:54It literally looks like he dragged his foot against the turf, and Phil.
02:58It's—it—I had a pretty good angle of it from where I was sitting.
03:00I know, right?
03:02Shrimp bowl.
03:04Great shrimp bowl.
03:05It was a fantastic shrimp bowl.
03:08It was—the guy—the whole secondary is soft.
03:11I mean, that third and 21 was one of the grossest—
03:14one of the grossest defensive setups you could see.
03:17I mean, they were so far off the line of scrimmage.
03:20I mean, I understand playing to the sticks.
03:22Don't play 10 yards behind him.
03:24That receiver went to him, turned around, and fell.
03:28If it's a third and 21, you better be breaking, like, four tackles to get that 21 yards.
03:32Not just turn around and fall down and pick up that yardage.
03:36Brian Schottenheimer on the pick-six drop.
03:39So now, you know, again, I mean, we expect him to make those plays, Todd.
03:43You know, he expects himself to make those plays.
03:45You know, he's made those plays a bunch around here.
03:48And, you know, probably surprised, because I have seen him make those plays so much.
03:54He'll fix it.
03:55And he will.
03:56He'll make those plays again.
03:57After the 64-yarder, Bucky Irving just makes the defense look totally spineless.
04:02They have a five-play, 75-yard drive to make it 21-10.
04:08And Deron Bland, another big, fat start down, getting exposed even more, because Joey Porter
04:13is apparently throwing up a couple of hours before the game, which we'll get to coming up.
04:19Who wants to take the next one?
04:20Well, and just on Bland really quickly, it's, there's, that foot injury just looks like it
04:28cooked him.
04:29But, like, similar to Gallup.
04:30Like, and I guess similar to the way that Diggs ran with his injury and things like that,
04:35too, where it just, but it feels more like the Gallup one in terms of confidence.
04:40Diggs never lacked confidence.
04:41Diggs just couldn't play anymore.
04:44Bland, it'll, it'll look okay some weeks, then it won't look good at all.
04:48And a lot of it just seems to be due to he's gonna rise and fall with however things are
04:52going.
04:54There, you can go so many different directions.
04:56The next word up has gotta be Dak, because Dak was just not good.
05:00This was, there were a couple different instances of just missing a wide open throw.
05:04That happened a couple times.
05:07Was not in sync with his guys.
05:08And the biggest thing that happened last night was he's always praised for what he does pre-snap
05:16in terms of what he recognizes, how he puts them into place.
05:18He did not know where Todd Bull's blitzes were coming from last night.
05:21He had no idea.
05:23And there were too many times last night where the ball snapped and he realizes, up, free
05:27rusher, we didn't get the protection right.
05:29And he's kind of panic throwing.
05:31And so, Dak was not good.
05:33Even when he had it clean, he looked a little pitter-patter feet and like a little unsettled.
05:38And it's because Todd Bull's had him rattled.
05:41A couple of us were thinking to ourselves, is he hurt?
05:44Is his arm okay?
05:45I mean, he had, he was skipping rocks to some guys early on.
05:47And then he was overthrown, like he was overcompensating.
05:49Arch Prescott.
05:51He was way off the whole night.
05:53Way off.
05:53Way off.
05:54And cut 18, Kevin.
05:56He was asked.
05:57Many told us what's the same.
05:58Remember what happened last week with a little bit of a bloody hand and the hand wrap.
06:02Was it the hand?
06:03No.
06:03I missed some throws that you think?
06:05I mean, there were a few third down, fourth down situations where...
06:08Yeah, those were definitely more decisions, more credit to Todd Bull's and that defense and that blitz, to be honest
06:13with you.
06:14Absolutely nothing wrong with my hand.
06:17The accuracy of what I felt.
06:20I mean, I've got to go back and look at it, but I think I felt fine.
06:22Those are more decisions than the precision of the throw.
06:26No.
06:26Well, your precision was way off.
06:31Way off.
06:33Six of 15 at one point.
06:35High Ferguson throw in the end zone.
06:38High to Lamb.
06:39They wasted field position.
06:42Gold at the 50-yard line.
06:44Behind Turpin.
06:45High to Ferguson on fourth and three.
06:49And against the blitz at one point, he was one of eight.
06:51But that Turpin one that was behind him right at midfield, that's a chip shot throw.
06:56That's a simple throw.
06:57Yeah.
06:58And the out route to Lamb where it's like those two just weren't on the same page.
07:03Yeah.
07:03I wish you could overlay the grimace emoji on the ball just the whole way.
07:07That was like the grimace emoji of throws.
07:10It just looked...
07:11By far his worst throwing game of the year.
07:14And there's been a couple of instances.
07:15I think, well, maybe this is the second major instance coming in here where I talked about Brian Schottenheimer getting
07:20worked
07:21and his brain get put into a pretzel by someone.
07:24Brian Flores last year and Todd Bowles last night.
07:27Todd Bowles destroyed Brian Schottenheimer.
07:32He put them in their place.
07:33He put Schottenheimer and Dak in their place from an X's and O's mental standpoint.
07:38And he cooked them throughout the entire evening to the point where Tolers were saying, once Todd Bowles gets fired,
07:45fire Christian Parker's ass and just bring Todd Bowles up in here.
07:49And this is Dak on facing a Bowles defense.
07:54Yeah, just pressure.
07:55Tommy, you know, asked about it over here.
07:57Just pressure.
07:58And I don't want to say that it's one particular pressure or it's secondary pressure or, you know, or the
08:04backers coming all the time.
08:05Stop it.
08:06Something's wrong with him.
08:08Something is wrong.
08:09They're either totally, completely exhausted, which multiple times last week, Bobby, I was like, what's wrong with Schottenheimer?
08:18He's in a bad mood.
08:20And he said, I'm sleep deprived.
08:21We're all tired.
08:23Dak Prescott last night, and I tweeted about it multiple times, emotionless, dead, dead look on his face.
08:30And listen to it.
08:31He doesn't talk like this even in the post.
08:33There's zero inflection.
08:34It sounds AI-ish.
08:36It sounds, I don't know whether his ex did something else.
08:39I know Craig Carton went off on her, you know, put on blast.
08:42And there's social media emojis and Sandler faces over babies, all that stuff.
08:46Play it one more time.
08:48He does not sound like this.
08:50Yeah, just pressure.
08:51Tommy, you know, asked about it over here.
08:53Just pressure.
08:54And I don't want to say that it's one particular pressure or it's secondary pressure or, you know, or the
09:00backers coming all the time.
09:01One, he switches it up.
09:03Two, he's been doing it for a long time.
09:05I'm sure he's studying a lot of the tendencies, a lot of formation tendencies, you know, whether the tight ends
09:10up, whether he's down.
09:12Those guys are pros, too.
09:14And they do a great job at scheming.
09:18And you've got to give them credit.
09:20Like I said, he's been a successful coach, defensive coordinator, and head coach in this league for a long time.
09:24And, yeah, and I think for me as much of anything, it was changing them up.
09:30It wasn't, you know, giving the same one.
09:31You know, a lot of times you get that, you can change and you can go easy.
09:34Or it's easy to fix and make the adjustments.
09:37But tonight, a bunch of different ones, pretty much every one that I've seen.
09:40It wasn't anything that I haven't seen.
09:42You know, it was all of them that I've seen on tape.
09:44And we just didn't execute our plan on all of those.
09:46And fortunate for them.
09:49Masterclass, Todd Bowles.
09:50He's either exhausted, he's extremely disappointed, or something else going on because that was a dead soul looking at his
09:57face throughout the entire night.
09:59No encouragement.
10:00No the usual Dak clap on the sidelines.
10:02No, let's go get him.
10:03No this or that.
10:04It was weird.
10:06Probably because it's a realization that you're a bad team.
10:08It's just like, because that's the problem.
10:10Like the Detroit game did that a couple years ago.
10:12And I was talking to Brian and Sweet Zach Wolchuk with his bodyguard.
10:18Bodyguard about how things played out in this game.
10:23And it's like, you start thinking of storylines.
10:26You're like, all right, what about this decision?
10:27What about this moment?
10:28Like, because we had that in Baltimore.
10:29And you get those in games where you start thinking about key moments or whatever.
10:33And I was like, I don't even know that there's like key moments or decisions I'm thinking about.
10:38I'm just going to like, they're bad.
10:40They're just bad.
10:42And that can be tough to like grapple with in the moment of like, oh, we suck.
10:48It's like in 2024 when he stood up there in Atlanta after he got hurt and he said, we effing
10:52suck.
10:52And you could see his lips saying it.
10:54I think just last night may have been a realization that like, oh, we're bad.
10:57I mean, he doesn't, we talked about this, him against non-NFC East teams is around 500.
11:04But he usually plays well against a Todd Bowles type defense.
11:08Bowles has worked him before, though.
11:10It has happened.
11:10But he's gotten him too, right?
11:12Quite a bit.
11:13It's been about split.
11:15It's been 50-50.
11:16But Bowles, there was that season opener where he broke his hand a few years ago that they lost 19
11:21-3.
11:21That's one of the worst games Dax played.
11:23Right.
11:23And that was against Bowles.
11:25Yeah.
11:25I mean, he's also scored 29 against him and 31 against him.
11:29So it's not like it's been lopsided.
11:32No, it's been a preparation chess match.
11:34Yeah.
11:34It has been who's, like I said, he's seen all that before.
11:39It wasn't new stuff from Todd Bowles, but how you change it up and how you deploy it.
11:42There was a sequence.
11:43It was a second and twos later in the game, bad pass by Dak.
11:46A third and two was an incomplete.
11:48And then the fourth and two was some pressure and it was a high throw.
11:52I think it was the Ferguson one where it tipped up.
11:54And that was a microcosm of the game.
11:57Those are three, you know, second and two, that has to be a first down.
12:00That has to be a first down.
12:02On any situation, you have to pick up the first down when you have it at second and two.
12:06And they didn't.
12:07There was a whole lot of things that went wrong in this one.
12:10Three second half turnovers.
12:14Three of them.
12:15For the Dallas Cowboys and Kevontae Turpin as well.
12:19Hilarious ones, too.
12:20All three of them.
12:22They weren't hilarious.
12:22Not funny in the context, but hilarious in the sense of like, oh, this is a blooper reel.
12:26Great for y'all.
12:27Star down, star down.
12:28Star down.
