Putin pledges to help resolve Iran conflict at high-level meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered to help resolve the ongoing conflict involving Iran during a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Turkmenistan on Thursday.

The discussions took place on the sidelines of a regional gathering of former Soviet countries, as diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington continued.

According to reports by Reuters, Putin expressed Moscow’s willingness to support efforts to bring the conflict to an end.

“You know our position. On our part, we are ready to do everything we can to help you resolve this situation,” Putin said during the meeting.

“We know that Iran is making real efforts to end the conflict, which broke out through no fault of its own, no fault of Iran,” he added.

Putin also pointed to what he described as improving relations between Russia and Iran, highlighting a “positive evolution” in ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday that “productive discussions” with Iran were continuing. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also warned of serious consequences from U.S.-Israeli military actions against Iran, underscoring growing international concerns over the conflict.
