A man, believed to be a tonto, was charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Thursday (Oct 8 ) with 55 counts of giving bribes totalling RM62,900 to three traffic policemen between 2022 and early 2026.

Ang Lie Giap, 33, pleaded not guilty.

In the same court, logistics manager R. Yuvarajakumar, 42, denied 16 counts of giving RM4,200 to a JPJ enforcement assistant.

00:13Ang Lee Gyap pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out before Judge Dato' Muhammad Nasir Nordi.
00:20He is accused of paying between RM700 and RM2,000 each time
00:25to officers from the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters,
00:28the Negeri Sembilan Contingent Headquarters and the Quesas Highway Patrol Office.
00:33The money was allegedly an inducement not to inspect lorries at roadblocks.
00:39The offences allegedly took place at bank branches in Klang and Shah Alam
00:44between January 2022 and February 2026.
00:48He is charged under Section 17B of the MACC Act.
00:53If convicted, he faces up to 20 years' jail and a fine of five times the bribe amount
01:00or RM10,000, whichever is higher.
01:03The court allowed bail of RM15,000 with one surety
01:07and ordered Ang to report to the MACC office and not harass witnesses.
01:13In the same court, a 42-year-old logistics manager pleaded not guilty
01:18to 16 counts of bribing a JPJ enforcement assistant.

01:32allegedly through a woman's bank account.
01:34The money was allegedly meant to ensure lorries were not inspected.
