Beneath the silent ribs of a forgotten kingdom, a wanderer in a tattered red cloak descends once more into the bone-dark. Her needle, slender and sure, traces arcs of pale light through corridors where the air itself seems to hold its breath. Every chain she climbs hangs like a rosary left by those who came before; every bell she brushes rings a note older than memory. This is Pharloom, a land haunted not by ghosts but by promises unfinished, and Hornet has come to answer them.

She passes from the marrow of the world into terraces of living green, where moss drinks the faintest light and the stones remember the tread of weavers long gone. At a small shrine woven from silk and prayer, she kneels before the idol of her mothers and hears the old vow spoken once more, a plea for the bound to rise, for the distant daughter to reclaim what the kingdom has lost. The words settle into her cloak like threads pulled tight.

Before a sealed door that should not open for the unbound, she is met by voices that have waited an age. They ask her to carry their strength, to braid their sorrow into her silk, and she answers with the only gesture a princess of Hallownest knows. She extends her needle and lets the vow take root. When the white light fades, a new skill is born in her hand, a spear of thread that flies and returns, and the world ahead of her subtly changes its shape.

Further still she walks, through camps of pilgrims and tents where merchants weigh rosettes against secrets. A shopkeeper offers her small mercies and impossible keys, and she counts what she carries in her palm, deciding what a wanderer can afford to lose. The choice is quiet, but every choice in Pharloom leaves a thread behind it.

And so she returns to the bone-dark, the same corridors that greeted her at the beginning now echoing with the new weight of her skill. Her journey is far from finished. Somewhere ahead, another sealed door waits, another vow waits to be spoken, and the red cloak moves on through the haunted kingdom, reclaiming it one silent step at a time.

Pebb's tent, 85 rosettes in your pocket: buy the Rosary String (80) now, or suffer and save for the Simple Key (500)? Vote below — and where should SILKSPEAR be thrown first in Part 3: the moss towers of Mosshome, or the bone shafts of The Marrow?
