The NFL has suspended two referees following separate incidents involving players during Week 4 games.

Line judge Jeff Seeman received a two-game suspension after a heated exchange with Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. Cameras appeared to capture Seeman directing profanity toward McBride after the player expressed frustration over an unflagged contact play. The incident quickly drew criticism, with NFL Players Association executive director JC Tretter calling the official’s behavior unacceptable.

Referee Adrian Hill was handed a one-game suspension after an unusual confrontation during the Miami Dolphins-Minnesota Vikings matchup. Hill was knocked down when Dolphins running back Ollie Gordon blocked Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson into the official. Hill then confronted Wilson and told him to return to the huddle. Wilson later said he apologized and described the interaction as a misunderstanding.

Both officials will serve their suspensions without pay, marking unusual disciplinary action by the league over conduct toward players.
