00:08dozens of hopefuls, pushing some of the state's talents to the limit.
00:15The dance call was extremely strenuous. I would say that was one of the longest kind
00:20of dance audition processes I've ever been in.
00:24South Australia has never had a musical theatre company until now.
00:28I just decided it's now or never. No one's getting any younger.
00:32Joe Casson establishing Full Circle, helping performers who for decades have had to leave
00:38to pursue careers in musicals.
00:40There is no work here and so you've got to move over east, that's where most of the agents
00:44are. So you move over east, you do all your auditioning over there and hopefully you land
00:48a gig over there.
00:49Joey Hainan will play the lead in the company's first production Catch Me If You Can, a true
00:54story made famous on the big screen by Leonardo DiCaprio. Full Circle's first auditions proving
01:01a magnet for many who've left the state.
01:04South Australia genuinely has amazing talent and it was so wonderful to see familiar faces
01:10who have come back home to audition for it.
01:12Everyone could sing, everyone could dance and everyone could act, so it made our job really
01:16hard to pick our final cast.
01:19Philanthropic funding helped the company start, but it will need to capture the public's imagination
01:24to guarantee its long term future.
01:27Stakes are pretty high, with our opening night of our first show of a brand new theatre company,
01:32so I'll be pretty nervous.
01:34The gods keep them stoned, you don't wanna fail that test.
01:37It's a huge responsibility and I think we're going to do a really good job.
01:41The show opens in early November.
