U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth delivered a strong warning to Iran on Saturday, saying the Trump administration remains determined to prevent Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

Speaking to reporters in Colorado Springs, Hegseth said, “Iran will never, ever, ever have a nuclear weapon. President Trump is hell-bent and determined to ensure that they do not. They will not.”

He further warned Tehran against underestimating Trump’s position, saying, “If they want to blink and think that he doesn't mean it, it would be to their detriment.”

Hegseth said Iran still has an opportunity to avoid further confrontation, stating, “give it up the way that they should without any leverage that they have, or it may have to happen the hard way.”

His comments came during a visit to Colorado Springs for the Air Force-Navy football game at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He also addressed cadets and administered the oath of enlistment to newly recruited service members.
