President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran, declaring that the United States would respond with overwhelming force if Tehran attempts to rebuild its nuclear capabilities. Speaking during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House, Trump claimed Iran was seeking backchannel dialogue despite publicly maintaining a confrontational stance. He also defended previous US actions against Iran's nuclear infrastructure, arguing they prevented Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and helped preserve regional stability.

Reiterating Washington's position, Trump delivered a direct message to Iran, saying, "How about these people? They're in this because of nuclear weapons, and they're trying to possibly reconstitute a site? We'll hit that site. Any site where they're even thinking about nuclear -- we'll be hitting it very, very powerfully," he warned.

Trump also cautioned Iran against threatening commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, warning of an even stronger military response if such attacks continue. His remarks came as tensions between the US and Iran remain elevated following continued military operations, reciprocal strikes, and growing security concerns across the Gulf region. While Washington says its operations are aimed at protecting international shipping and degrading Iran's military capabilities, Tehran maintains that its actions are retaliatory measures against US attacks and military presence in the region.
