00:00Pat, before you even start, you're right.
00:06It's up to you, New York.
00:12New York.
00:16What's going on, guys?
00:18Hey, happy Friday.
00:18How we doing?
00:19How we doing?
00:20Our producer dumped that.
00:21Pat, I've got to tell you, it has been, I mean, listen,
00:24no one's harder on the Red Sox than Red Sox fans right now.
00:28There's literally nothing you can say that can make us feel bad.
00:30We've already punished ourselves enough,
00:31although I will tell you that watching Mike Francesa on whatever show he's on
00:36right now say,
00:37don't they got to put the stupid Wally head on the head and down by eight,
00:40down by seven runs and run around with the Wally head on,
00:43I thought was fantastic.
00:44So at least New York's been funny about it.
00:47Yeah, hey, can you guys,
00:48is Eric Miller available to pitch throw fastballs to my nine-year-old nephew
00:52at his birthday party this weekend?
00:54That'd be a great side hustle.
00:55Dude, we can't figure out why the hell he was put in there twice.
01:00The Red Sox players can't figure it out.
01:02Yeah, they're all pissed, dude.
01:03They're revolting.
01:04They're all speaking out against the computer that spit out the analytic
01:08that said that they should do that.
01:09It's really, really not fun times here being a Red Sox fan.
01:14Yeah, look, trust me.
01:15I mean, every time the Yankees get knocked out,
01:17that's one of the first things is, oh, the analytics.
01:19Oh, Cashman wants to do this.
01:20That's what the computer says.
01:21So I'm glad that you guys feel the pain, Craig Breslow.
01:25I mean, maybe, I don't know, wait a couple of weeks next time
01:27before you give Chad Tracy an extension,
01:29because Aaron Boone managed circles around him.
01:31My God.
01:31Well, we think that he was just a victim of being told what to do
01:35and carrying out the orders, which does not, of course,
01:38let him off the hook.
01:39It doesn't absolve him at all.
01:40But I think that even the players are looking directly at Craig Breslow
01:44and going, what the F were you thinking doing this?
01:47It was just all sorts of bad there, Matt.
01:51Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
01:52Do you guys, is Alex Cora available for the job
01:55in case you guys want to reverse course here?
01:57Oh, listen, man.
01:58All I know is that Alex Cora would have done a better job in the postseason.
02:01He would have done a better job in the postseason.
02:03He wouldn't have gotten to the postseason.
02:04On behalf of all Yankees fans,
02:05on behalf of all Yankees fans,
02:07thank you guys for firing Alex Cora earlier this year.
02:09I don't know if you would have made the playoffs if you kept him,
02:11but thank you guys for firing Alex Cora because that was fun
02:15to not have to see Boone go up against him.
02:18Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:19All right, well, let's talk about some of the games you can –
02:21this Buffalo game is going to be interesting
02:25because I didn't see the spread move at all
02:28since it was announced that Christian Gonzalez and Christian Barmore are not playing.
02:33And I know that it takes a lot to move like such a seismic thing as an NFL spread,
02:38but you've got to think that this is like a –
02:41you've got to be putting money on the bills this weekend, right?
02:44Yeah, I mean, look, before we get to that, can I just say,
02:48I think I've got the cure right now for Boston sports
02:50because, you know, the Patriots,
02:52Drake May literally forgot how to throw the football
02:54over the last couple of weeks here.
02:56I know that, you know, the Knicks are NBA champions,
02:58so that's – you guys don't have that going for you.
03:00I know you guys are still reeling from that trade in the summer.
03:04And, well, I mean, hey, the Bruins beat the Rangers,
03:06but I'm an Islanders fan, so honestly, thank you.
03:08You guys did me a solid the other day.
03:11But, like, I think I've got the cure here.
03:13And from a New York sports fan and a New Jersey native,
03:17how about Tommy Cutlets, Tommy DeVito,
03:20to save the season for the Patriots?
03:23I mean, it might sound crazy, but in another two weeks,
03:25you guys might be begging for him, if not already.
03:27That's what Boomer Esiason wanted Monday.
03:29He was on with our morning show.
03:30He said they should do it this week.
03:32Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't shock me.
03:34All right, but here's the thing.
03:35So Christian Gonzalez, Christian Barmore are both out.
03:37I mean, Gonzalez, I know he's a stud, but, like, honestly,
03:39are you scared of D.J. Moore now going off against you guys?
03:42Are you scared of Khalil Shakir?
03:43Like, can New England stop the run?
03:46You know that's what Buffalo's offense is based around.
03:48They're going to pound the rock.
03:50And so can you stop James Cook?
03:51I don't think that Christian Gonzalez is – yes, he's a big absence in a vacuum.
03:55But for this particular game, I'm not worried about D.J. Moore burning the Patriots now
04:00because Christian Gonzalez is out.
04:02You guys got to be able to stop James Cook, and you got to be able to stop the run
04:05game.
04:06Oppositely, with Drake May literally void of confidence right now,
04:10Travion Henderson, Ramondre Stevenson, they should have 35 carries between the two of them
04:15on Sunday because that's your best chance to beat Buffalo.
04:17They still can't stop the run.
04:18I don't care what the numbers say in terms of the yardage allowed.
04:21In terms of EPA per play on defense, they're in the bottom five.
04:25Pound the rock, Stevenson, and Henderson should have a big game.
04:29That's how the Patriots cover.
04:31That's how the Patriots win.
04:32That being said, give me the bills minus the six and a half.
04:36So, Pat, we start the London games this Sunday, which I love
04:39because it's the only game on.
04:40It gives you something to warm up to on Sunday.
04:41If I have to make a bet on this game, one way or the other, who do I take, Colts
04:45or Commanders?
04:46Neither.
04:47I don't want to bet on either of those.
04:49No, I would take the over if I've taken anything because both of these defenses
04:53are absolutely atrocious.
04:54And Marcus Mariota, look, if he can light up the Seahawks last week,
04:58you know, Jaden Daniels is out for this game.
05:00He could probably do a pretty good job of lighting up the Colts and soft, soft Gardner.
05:04I call him soft Gardner because he's not even a top corner anymore.
05:07He's soft Gardner.
05:08So, I think Terry McLaurin, Stephon Diggs can have a big day for Washington.
05:12And on the flip side, we know the power that Jonathan Taylor possesses.
05:15Last year in Germany, ran for 250 yards and three touchdowns.
05:19I wouldn't put that out of the realm of possibilities again of happening on Sunday.
05:23So, I think the total in this game is 47 and a half.
05:26It's come down since Jaden Daniels has ruled out.
05:28I like both offenses, but you couldn't pay me to pick a side in this game.
05:32All right, Pat, I'm really fascinated with this game because I don't know what to make of the Raiders.
05:36They're 3-0, going to play the Chiefs.
05:39Chiefs are 3-0.
05:40They are favored by four and a half against the Raiders.
05:44How do you see this game playing out?
05:47It's a tough one for me to call.
05:49Probably staying away from this one, but, like, I can't blame anybody for wanting to back the Raiders
05:53in years past, even when they were terrible.
05:55And the Chiefs, by the way, they look like they're great again,
05:58but when they were great a couple years ago, the Raiders would find ways to beat them
06:01or keep it close because it felt like you would just get crazy, fluky turnovers
06:06from the Holmes and the Chiefs.
06:08So, you know, again, the Raiders, they got this guy, Hezekiah Masses.
06:11I mean, he sounds like a prophet.
06:13He's been a prophet for the Raiders in that secondary.
06:15He's got three picks.
06:16They're giving up a ton of chunk yardage plays, which is what happened against New Orleans last week.
06:20But when push came to shove, they got turnovers.
06:22N'Kobe Dean forced turnovers.
06:24So, if the turnover regression, if they don't get two to three turnovers on Sunday,
06:29I think the Chiefs blow them out, right?
06:31And they've been off to a great start.
06:33Cousins has protected the football.
06:34Gentty looks really good.
06:35I still am suspect on this Chiefs defense.
06:38But, again, probably a stay away from me, but if you made me pick a side,
06:42I would predict Spaggs gets into his bag and he forces Cousins to throw two picks
06:47and the Chiefs win it by a touchdown.
06:48All right, Pat.
06:49The game of the weekend, in my opinion, is Denver versus San Francisco.
06:52Because Denver is, I mean, obviously, after last week, that was the best game of the season so far.
06:58But San Francisco, I mean, it's just they look infallible.
07:01Like, how do you see this one playing out?
07:03I like San Francisco because I like Brock Purdy.
07:07And I've been on the Brock Purdy wagon since his rookie year.
07:09And people, you know, oh, it's a system QB.
07:11It's a system QB.
07:12Sooner or later, it's not a system.
07:14It's the QB.
07:14It's actually freaking great.
07:16So, I think he's a top 10 quarterback in the league, probably No. 9 or No. 10.
07:19And I think that, you know, these injuries, they're starting to mount for San Francisco.
07:24So, this is the game I want to wait until Sunday.
07:25I want to see if they're all-world left tackle.
07:27Trent Williams is going to play.
07:29He was limited in practice yesterday.
07:31He's got a neck injury.
07:32He had a stinger last week.
07:33I need to see him play because he is invaluable on that offensive line.
07:36And I would like to see Mike Evans play.
07:39Travis, George Kittle kind of spilled the beans and said he's got fractured ribs.
07:43Didn't practice yesterday.
07:44So, if Evans plays and Trent Williams plays, I love the Niners.
07:48If neither of those guys plays, neither of those guys played, then it's probably a stay
07:52away for me.
07:53But, I mean, how many times do we have to see the freaking Denver Broncos just be stuck
07:58in neutral for the entire first half?
08:00Pull it out of their ass.
08:01And then they save them.
08:02Yeah, and then they pull it out.
08:03Yeah, exactly.
08:03I'll use your word there.
08:05So, again, this is probably, I'd like to see both Mike Evans and Trent Williams play if
08:10that happens.
08:11Love the Niners.
08:11I love Purdy.
08:12I think that Bo Nix in this Broncos offense is way too inconsistent.
08:17The Niners at home, I would take the Niners, assuming those guys play.
08:20All right.
08:21Big college game around here, Pat.
08:22Well, sort of.
08:23North Carolina and Notre Dame.
08:2521 and a half, I think Bill's getting.
08:27So, yeah.
08:28Are you tempted to take the points?
08:30No.
08:31No.
08:32And here's the thing.
08:35So, I don't know if maybe some of your listeners think I'm insufferable because I'm a New York
08:39sports fan, but I also am a Notre Dame fighting Irish fan.
08:42Wow.
08:44Look, I think what Bill Belichick did in Dublin against TCU was pretty impressive.
08:49And then if not for the weather delay against Clemson two weeks ago, they'd probably win
08:53that game.
08:53So, they've had the bye.
08:55And whatever you want to say about Belichick, if he's lost some juice, he's got two weeks
08:59to prepare for this game.
09:00I just don't see how North Carolina moves the football effectively against this Notre
09:06Dame defense that is incredible.
09:08They have yet to give up more than 13 points in any game, but I do think Notre Dame struggles
09:14a bit to move the ball in the first half.
09:16So, again, it's right at 21.
09:19This is going to come down to whether the Tar Heels can put up like 14 to 20 points, somewhere
09:24in that range.
09:25I'd lean Notre Dame, but again, I think Bill Belichick's going to come with a pretty good
09:29game plan to at least limit C.J. Carr and the Notre Dame receivers.
09:33All right.
09:33Well, Pat, I know that, unfortunately, your Yankees bested our Red Sox, but I can say this.
09:39Jalen Brunson absolutely sucked on Saturday Night Live this past week.
09:44So, there.
09:45Good.
09:46Like, not Michael Phelps suck, but just above Michael Phelps hosting SNL suck.
09:52Like, way, way, way, way down there.
09:54Well, look, I know you guys in Boston, you need any victory you can get nowadays.
09:58So, if Jalen Brunson having a poor performance on Saturday Night Live is the W.
10:02You guys need it, then we'll take it.
10:04It is.
10:04One more for you.
10:05One more for you guys on Sunday.
10:07I cannot believe that the total in the game between the Cardinals and the Giants is 44 and
10:11a half.
10:12They're two of the worst defenses in the league.
10:14Brian Burns is out.
10:14And Jameis Winston, as bad as he's looked, remember, came into the game on Monday, zero
10:20preparation against the Rams, still probably practicing his World Cup correspondence skits.
10:25And then last week against the Titans, it was absolutely god-awful weather.
10:30Like, this could be a game on Sunday where you get the Jameis Winston game, where it's
10:34like 300 yards, three touchdowns, three picks.
10:36Cardinals defense stinks.
10:37Giants also not a great defense right now.
10:40With Brian Burns out and that secondary in shambles, honestly, I think both these teams
10:44put up 30 points on Sunday.
10:46Oh, man.
10:46All right.
10:47Well, I can see that happening.
10:47Absolutely.
10:48All right.
10:48Well, Pat Boyle, BetMGM tonight.
10:50We appreciate you coming out with us, man.
10:52Thanks again for...
10:53All right, guys.
10:54Lick those wounds.
10:56Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:56They have been licked.
10:57All right.
10:58Appreciate it, Pat.
