00:04The Gospel of St Luke, Chapter 15, Verses 18 and 19
00:12I will arise and go to my Father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against
00:20heaven and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
00:29Dearly beloved brethren, the Scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess
00:37our manifold sins and wickedness, but that we should not disassemble nor clothe them before
00:45the face of Almighty God our Heavenly Father, but confess them with a humble, lowly, penitence
00:54and obedient heart, to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite
01:02goodness and mercy.
01:05And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God, yet ought we
01:12cheaply so to do, when we assemble and meet together, to render thanks for the great benefits
01:18we have received at his hands, to set forth his most worthy praise, to hear his most holy
01:27word, and to ask those things which are requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul.
01:37Wherefore I pray and beseech you, as many as are here present, to accompany me with a pure
01:43heart and humble voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, saying after me, Almighty and most merciful
01:55Father, we have erred and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep.
02:02We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:09We have offended against thy holy laws.
02:14We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things
02:21we ought not to have done.
02:27But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders, spare thou them, O God, who confess
02:35their faults, restore thou those who are penitent, according to thy promises declared unto mankind
02:44us.
02:45In Christ Jesus our Lord, and grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live
02:54a godly, righteous and sober life.
02:56To the glory of thy holy name.
03:00Amen.
03:04Almighty God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who desireth not the death of a sinner, but
03:11rather that he turn from his wickedness and live, and has given power and commandments to
03:18his ministers to declare and pronounce to his people, being penitent, the absolution and
03:27remission of their sins.
03:30He pardoneth and absolveth all who truly repent and unfaimly believe his holy gospel.
03:40Wherefore, let us beseech him to grant us true repentance and his holy spirit, that those
03:47things may please him which we do at this present, and that the rest of our life hereafter may
03:55be pure and holy, so that at the last we may come to his eternal joy, through Jesus Christ
04:02our Lord.
04:06Amen.
04:09Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done
04:18as it is in heaven.
04:20Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass
04:28us against us.
04:29And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the
04:36power and the glory, for ever and ever.
04:40Amen.
04:44O Lord, open our lips, and our mouth shall show forth thy praise.
04:53O God, make speed to save us.
04:57O Lord, make haste to help us.
05:02Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning,
05:09is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
05:14Amen.
05:17Praise ye the Lord.
05:20The Lord's name be praised.
05:25O come, let us sing unto the Lord, and let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our
05:32salvation.
05:34Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and show ourselves glad in him with psalms.
05:42For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
05:48In his hand are all the corners of the earth, and the strength of the hills is his also.
05:54The sea is his, and he made it, and his hands prepared the dry land.
06:01O come, let us worship and hold home, and kneel before the Lord our Maker.
06:08For he is the Lord our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his
06:15hand.
06:17Today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, and as
06:24in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when our fathers tempted us, proved us, and
06:31saw our works.
06:35Forty years long I was grieved with this generation, and said, it is a people that do err in their
06:41hearts, and they have not known my ways.
06:46Unto whom I swore in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.
06:53Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
06:57As it was in the beginning, he is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
07:04Amen.
07:14Psalm 44
07:17We have heard with our ears, O God.
07:20Our fathers have told us what thou hast done in their time of old.
07:25How thou hast driven out the heathen with thy hand, and planted them in.
07:30How thou hast destroyed the nations, and cast them out.
07:34For they got not the land in possession through their own sword, neither was it their own arm
07:40that helped them.
07:42But thy right hand and thine arm are the light of thy countenance, because thou hast a favour
07:49upon them.
07:50Thou art my King, O God, send help unto Jacob.
07:56Through thee will we overthrow our enemies, and in thy name will we tread them under that
08:02rise up against us.
08:04For I will not trust in my bow.
08:06It is not my sword that shall help me.
08:10But it is thou that hath saved us from our enemies, and put them to confusion that feed us.
08:18We make our boast of God all day long, and will praise thy name for ever.
08:24But now thou art far off, and puttest us to confusion, and goest not forth with our armies.
08:33Thou makest us to turn our backs upon our enemies, so that they which hate us spoil our goods.
08:40Thou lettest up the eaten like sheep.
08:44Thou hast scattered us amongst the heathen.
08:48Thou sellest thy people from naught, and takest no money from them.
08:53Thou makest us to be rebuked of our neighbours, to be laughed, to scorn, and having derision
08:59of them that are round about us.
09:02Thou makest us to be a byword among the heathen, and that the people shake their heads at us.
09:10My confusion is daily before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me.
09:16For the voice of the slanderer and the blasphemer, for the enemy and the avenger.
09:22And though all this be come upon us, yet we do not forget thee, nor behave ourselves throwerly in thy
09:30covenant.
09:32Our heart is not turned back, neither are steps gone out of thy way.
09:38No, not when thou hast smitten us into the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
09:47If we have forgotten the name of our God, and holden up our hands to any strange God, shall not
09:53God search it out, for he knoweth the very secrets of the heart.
09:59For thy sake also are we killed all the day long, and accounted as sheep appointed to be slain.
10:06O Lord, why sleepest thou awake, and be not absent from us for ever?
10:12Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our misery and trouble?
10:18For our soul is brought low even unto the dust, our belly cleaveth unto the ground.
10:25Arise and help us, and deliver us for thy mercy's sake.
10:30Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
10:34As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
10:41Amen.
10:43Psalm 45
10:47My heart is indicting of a good matter.
10:50I speak of the thing which I have made unto the King.
10:54My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
10:58Thou art fairer than the children of men, full of grace are thy lips, because God hath blessed thee for
11:05ever.
11:07Gird thee with thy sword upon thy thigh, O thou most mighty, according to thy worship and renown.
11:16Good luck have you with thine honour.
11:19Ride on, because of the word of truth, of meekness, of righteousness, and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible
11:26things.
11:28Thine arrows are very sharp, and the people shall be subdued unto thee, even in the midst among the King's
11:35enemies.
11:37Thy seed, O God, endureth for ever. The sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
11:44Thou hast loved the righteousness, and hated iniquity.
11:49Wherefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
11:56All thy garments smell of myrrh, aloes, and caesia, out of the ivory palaces whereby they have made thee glad.
12:05King's daughters were among the honourable women. Upon thy right hand did stand the Queen in a vesture of gold,
12:13all about with divers colours.
12:17Hearken, O daughter, and consider. Incline thine ear. Forget also thine own people and thy father's house.
12:25So shall the King have pleasure in thy beauty. For his is thy Lord God, and worship thou him.
12:33And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with the gift. Like as the rich also among the people shall
12:40make their supplication before thee.
12:43The King's daughter is glorious within. Her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be brought into the King in
12:51the raiment of needlework.
12:53The virgins that be her fellows shall bear her company, and shall be brought unto thee.
13:00With joy and gladness shall they be brought, and shall enter into the King's palace.
13:07Instead of thy fathers thou shalt have children, whom thou mayst make princes in all the lands.
13:14I will remember thy name from one generation to another. Therefore shall all the people give thanks unto thee, world
13:22without end.
13:25Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning,
13:31is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
13:40Psalm 46
13:43God is our hope and strength, our very present help in trouble. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth
13:51be moved, and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea.
13:56Though the waters thereof rage and swell, and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the sea.
14:03The rivers of the flood thereof shall make glad of the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle
14:09of the Most Highest.
14:11God is in the midst of her. Therefore shall she not be removed. God shall help her, and that right
14:19then be.
14:21The heathen make much ado, and the kingdoms are moved, but God hath showed his voice, and the earth shall
14:28melt away.
14:30The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
14:35O come hither, and behold the works of the Lord. What destruction he hath wrought upon the earth. He maketh
14:43wars to cease in all the world. He breaketh the bow, and knappeth the spear in sunder, and burneth the
14:51chariots in the fire.
14:54Be still then, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the heathen, and I will be
15:00exalted in the earth.
15:03The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge.
15:09Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning,
15:15is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
15:26The Gospel of St Luke, chapter 15, verses 18 and 19
15:35I will arise and go to my Father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and

17:31We have offended against thy holy laws.
17:36We have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things we ought
17:43not to have done, and there is no health in us.
17:49But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable adventists.
17:55Spare thou them, O God, who confess their faults.
17:59Restore thou those who are penitent, according to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.

19:59glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
20:06O Lord, O Lord, open our lips, and our mouth shall show forth thy praise.
20:15O God, make speed to save us. O Lord, make haste to help us.
20:25Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning,
20:31is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
20:40Praise ye the Lord. The Lord's name be praised.
20:48O come, let us sing unto the Lord, and let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.
20:56Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and show ourselves glad in him with psalms.

21:37hand.
21:39Today, if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, and as in the day
21:47of temptation in the wilderness.
21:50When our fathers tempted us, proved us, and saw our works.
21:57Forty years long I was grieved with this generation, and said,
22:01It is a people that do err in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.
22:08Unto whom I swore in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.
22:15Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
22:19As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
22:24World without end.
22:26Amen.
22:36Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
22:43and hath raised up a mighty salvation for us in the house of his servant David.
22:50As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have since been since the world began,
22:56that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us.
23:02To perform the mercy promised to our forefathers, and to remember his holy covenant.
23:09To perform the oath which he swore to our forefather Abraham, that he would give us,
23:16that would be delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear.
23:23Holiness and righteousness before him all the days of our life.
23:29And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the highest.
23:33For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways.
23:38To give knowledge of salvation to his people for the remission of their sins.
23:44Through the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us.
23:52To give light to them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death.
23:57And to guide our feet into the way of peace.
24:02Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
24:06As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
24:10World without end. Amen.
24:19I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
24:26And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin
24:33Mary, suffered unto Pontius Pilate, who crucified, dead, and buried.
24:38He descended into heaven.
24:41He descended into hell, and the third day he rose again from the dead.
24:45He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
24:51From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
24:57I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection
25:06of the body, and the life everlasting.
25:10Amen.
25:14The Lord be with you.
25:16And with thy spirit.
25:20Let us pray.
25:23Lord, have mercy upon us.
25:26Christ, have mercy upon us.
25:29Lord, have mercy upon us.
25:35Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
25:40Thy kingdom come.
25:42Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
25:47Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
25:56And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
26:02Amen.
26:05O Lord, show thy mercy upon us, and grant us thy salvation.
26:12O Lord, save the King, and mercifully hear us when we call upon thee.
26:20Endue thy ministers with righteousness, and make thy chosen people joyful.
26:29O Lord, save thy people, and bless thine inheritance.
26:37Give peace in our time, O Lord, because there is none other that fighteth for us, but only thou, O
26:45God.
26:47O God, make clean our hearts within us, and take not thy Holy Spirit from us.
26:59Amen.
27:00Lord, we beseech thee, grant thy people grace to withstand the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil,
27:09and with pure hearts and minds, to follow thee, the only God.
27:14through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
27:24O God, who art the author of peace and lover of concord,
27:29in the knowledge of whom standeth our eternal life,
27:33whose service is perfect freedom,
27:36defend us, thy humble servants,
27:39in all assaults of our enemies,
27:41that we, surely trusting in thy defence,
27:46may not fear the power of any adversaries,
27:48through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
27:56O Lord, our Heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God,
28:01who has safely brought us to the beginning of this day,
28:05defend us in the same with thy mighty power,
28:08and grant that this day we fall into no sin,
28:12neither run into any kind of danger,
28:15but that all our doings may be ordered according to thy governance,
28:21to do always that which is righteous in your sight,
28:25through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
28:31O Lord, our Heavenly Father,
28:33the high and mighty King of kings,
28:36Lord of lords and ruler of princes,
28:40who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth,
28:45most heartily we beseech thee with thy favour
28:48to behold our most gracious sovereign King, King Charles,
28:52and so replenish him with the grace of thy Holy Spirit,
28:56that he may always incline to thy will and walk in thy way,
29:01in due him plenteously with heavenly gifts,
29:06grant him in health and wealth long to live,
29:10strengthen him that he may vanquish and overcome all his enemies,
29:16and finally after this life he may attain everlasting joy and felicity,
29:23through Jesus Christ our Lord.
29:26Amen.
29:30Almighty God, at the fountain of all goodness,
29:33we humbly beseech thee to bless William, Prince of Wales,
29:36and all the royal family,
29:39endued them with thy Holy Spirit,
29:41enriched them with the heavenly grace,
29:45prosper them with all happiness,
29:47and bring them to thine everlasting kingdom,
29:51through Jesus Christ our Lord.
29:54Amen.
29:57Almighty and everlasting God,
29:59who alone workest great marvels,
30:02send down upon our bishops and curates
30:05and all congregations committed to their charge
30:08the helpful Spirit of thy grace,
30:12that they may duly please thee,
30:15pour upon them the continual due of thy blessing.
30:20Grant this, O Lord,
30:21for the honour of our Advocate and Mediator,
30:24Jesus Christ.
30:26Amen.
30:29Almighty God,
30:30who has given us grace at this time with one accord,
30:33to make our common supplications unto thee,
30:37and dost promise that when two or three are gathered together in thy name,
30:42thou wilt grant their requests.
30:45Fulfill now, O Lord,
30:47the desires and partitions of thy servants,
30:50as may be most expedient for them,
30:54granting us in this world knowledge of thy truth,
30:58and in the world to come,
31:00life everlasting.
31:01Amen.
31:05The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
31:08the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost,
31:11be with us all for evermore.
31:14Amen.
