00:03what's up everybody welcome back to another edition of straight out of flushing we are back
00:07with you this week as the offseason continues dexter henry tyler ward aka wardy rocking with
00:14you wardy how you doing my friend dex i'm doing good uh listen mlb playoffs has begun unfortunately
00:20our mets aren't in it but we have a lot to get into this offseason when it comes to what
00:24is next
00:24for the club piggybacking off of what we talked about just over the past 24 to 48 hours so
00:30listen i'm excited uh especially now that 2026 is officially over for the mets i can just look
00:35ahead and be more my optimistic self which is something that i haven't been for the majority
00:40of the year there we go we got to get wardy back to some optimism this is what we want
00:43to do here we
00:44need we need to do that speaking of some optimism or i guess there could be some pessimism around here
00:49we heard david stearns address the media the other day and he talked about second base he was asked
00:55about marcus simeon now we're going to keep it a buck here as we always do marcus simeon not a
01:01good year
01:02uh here at all and i think wardy i'm kind of curious from you what was most disappointing about marcus
01:07simeon because i did like the trade when they moved brandon mmo to the rangers and acquired him
01:12just to get off a mmo salary and the way he was kind of being you know injury prone and
01:17his numbers
01:17were declining as a player i saw the financial flexibility sense that that trade made but the
01:22thing for me was you thought with marcus simeon even though his offensive numbers had been declining
01:27the last couple of years you thought you'd be getting solid defense even if he didn't hit that
01:33well you'd be a fine number eight hitter or nine hitter and you'd be okay with that but this is
01:37not
01:37what we got from him this year were you shocked by that is the thing that bothers you the most
01:42with
01:43marcus simeon this year in 2026 the lack of defense that we saw from him
01:47i would definitely say the defense it fluctuated quite a bit throughout the season and listen it's
01:52to be expected to agree for a guy who's 35 now having turned 36 uh naturally these things are
01:57going to decline as time goes on inevitably but you know the bat is something that i did anticipate to
02:03be relatively the same had a level of optimism that he could go back to being that 20 home run
02:08guy maybe
02:08having a resurgence of a 70 to 80 rbi season with a mets offense that was deeper around him than
02:15his
02:15previous last couple years with the rainers with the lack of availability with guys not staying
02:18healthy and just the lack of consistency i was rather bullish on this mets offense entering the
02:23year as long as he could stay on the field but you know it was kind of one of these
02:26things where
02:27it's a combination of obviously simeon falling short on the defensive value which is really
02:31the leading factors of why you have him alongside you know the so-called mentorship or you know captain
02:37quality that he brings during his time with the texas rangers but you just look at the aspect of
02:42not only simeon and the defense along with him the bat we expected that but it really was this roster
02:48construction again you know if this was a mets team that stayed healthy stayed available i think
02:54simeon would have had a more productive year batting in the lower half of this mets lineup than
02:58what we saw here in 2026 yeah simeon finishing with a career low 620 ops that's not going to get
03:05it
03:05done to plate i do agree with you i think the point you're making is a really good one had
03:10other
03:10guys maybe been producing around him the maybe need and we'll get to this to potentially upgrade
03:16a second base wouldn't look that dire but i think the major comments and takeaways you have to go with
03:21after hearing david stern's talk was that he wouldn't commit to marcus simeon at second base and i don't know
03:27about you warden but i think that is a good thing i'm glad he wasn't committing to marcus simeon at
03:33second base because look i'm not here to rag on marcus simeon but i just he wasn't good and i
03:40think
03:40it might be the time for him to transition and for the mets as they're trying to move forward to
03:452027
03:45into being that veteran leader mentor off the bench that can mentor a young guy who's going to come in
03:52and take the reins at second base and we'll get into what those possibilities could be but i think
03:56that might be the best role for him now you've always heard with marcus simeon people have raved about
04:02his leadership that was part of the reason the mets made this trade too and i think as you're
04:06transitioning to getting some younger guys in here i do think his leadership matters to be an extension
04:12of andy green in the clubhouse i do think that can matter but maybe in terms of him as an
04:17everyday
04:18player anymore i'm not sure that's the role how do you feel about that and did you like that david
04:23stern's was pretty much like yeah we're not committing to him being i'll start in second baseman next
04:28year yeah you know i was encouraged to hear that from david because while obviously we should only
04:33take a grain of salt and what the mets president has to say to media because naturally uh he could
04:37say one thing and then reality can be another we've seen that trend obviously over the past two years
04:42but the one trend that we have seen that i think will stay consistent is when david talks about the
04:48youth movement with this mets organization you know a year ago he spoke glowingly about how the mets
04:52would like to keep an outfield spot open for someone like carson bench and to give him ample
04:58runway to see if he could really be that guy at the major league level a newsflash he most certainly
05:02uh proved that point for david uh we fast forward now a year later and the mets are positioning
05:07themselves to do the exact same thing again but this time with their infield talent that we'll get
05:11into in a second regarding guys that as david stated himself are knocking on the door in the mets farm
05:18but when we go back to you know talking about simian's role we've stated this verbatim from our
05:23last podcast over the past day or two and in previous shows on how that feels like that is about
05:28the
05:28mets need to go down i've been on record here stating exactly you that uh the mets simply cannot
05:33have a commitment at second base uh prior to david's turn stating the exact same thing himself so
05:38it's nice to hear david um be like-minded with myself uh because not that i believe i would make
05:43all the right decisions for the new york mets i think i would still be worse as a pobo in
05:47the end
05:48um it is nice when you can call some things out and be right about them and it seems that
05:52there's
05:53similar sentiment for him um so when i look at ultimately uh what his role would be for simian
05:58you know i just did a video on my platform yesterday i have a feeling we're going to do a
06:01conversation similar to this sooner than later and mine was on five mets who will not return for next
06:07season and there's a reason why i'm marcus simian on the thumbnail decks uh because while i like the
06:12mentorship aspect in which he can bring to the young players that we'll get into um i am also
06:18also not loving the idea of buying into marcus simian making 26 million dollars next year as a
06:24soon-to-be 37 year old and having a net negative offense defense and base running ability as someone
06:31off the bench um could he be clutch in a moment sure but could the mets utilize that bench spot
06:37greater with someone that is at a fraction of the cost more than likely so throwing it back to you
06:42what's your thoughts on simian staying or actually being outright dfa'd and parted with by this mets
06:49team and needing that salary my mind hadn't even gone yet warty to those possibilities um of them
06:56parting ways moving him or dfaing him but you know you talked about the 26 million dollar salary i believe
07:02that's also 24 million towards the luxury tax uh bill for the bets too right that he counts against so
07:09that's something you have to weigh and i think what we're talking about here with everything you
07:12just said and what i had said previously is okay well how much do you value his experience
07:18in the clubhouse or to the point you made is it better served on somebody who's maybe younger can
07:25give you a little bit more speed and maybe just as good if not better defense off the bench maybe
07:29doesn't hit as well is there somebody with more positional flexibility do you feel good about and i'm
07:34mentioned another name here do you feel good about maybe bet brett baby excuse me being in that utility
07:39role who's a name that david sterns mentioned and i wanted to read this quote the full quote just so
07:46fans have it from david sterns stern said i think we're going to have options next year marcus didn't
07:52have the type of year offensively that he wanted that we would expect again i think brett showed us the
07:58last four to six weeks of the season what his ceiling looks like and as i said we need him
08:03to get to that
08:04ceiling more consistently now i i bring up brett baby in the utility role purposefully here uh
08:11wardy because i think that's a role brett baby can occupy and be very well in having for the mets
08:17now
08:18some nets fans might be disappointed because when he came up he was projected to be a starter
08:21particularly at third base and everybody felt good about that but it hasn't gone that way
08:25my pause with david sterns on that and somebody did follow up forgetting who the media member is and
08:31asked him and you and i were talking about this off camera yesterday they asked him was like hey
08:34well brett baby we saw the year before where he had a good finish to the season and his ops
08:40he still
08:40finished around 681 this year and i mean like it's like okay um we haven't seen consistency from brett
08:47baby i wouldn't go out and say hey hand him the second base job i'm not saying anybody should be
08:52handed
08:52the second base job to be very clear i think it should be open competition if brett baby comes out
08:57in
08:57spring and kills it and you want to give it to him and he earns it i'm kind of cool
09:03with that i don't
09:04know how you would feel about that i'm okay with that but i think the question that you bring up
09:08should the mets look at maybe moving on from mark to simeon and i know there are fans out there
09:15that want to drive him to jfk la guardia right now and get it and get him up out of
09:19here i know
09:20there's fans are seeing that who don't want him back or they could dfm that's a lot of money to
09:24eat
09:24not my money but you understand i think if i think the mets have to do whatever they think is
09:31best to feel the best roster in 2027 so if they think all that he's bringing is leadership and
09:37they don't believe there's any value with anything else and they do believe another guy particularly
09:42younger could bring them some more value both in the clubhouse as being you know just a vibes guy
09:48and also producing on the field whether it was defensively offensively better than simeon then they
09:53have to go that route the job has to be to put the best 26 man roster that you can
09:58and so i would
10:00support the mets if they feel like hey this isn't the way we're gonna go and you know this about
10:04me
10:04too warty i always will say if you don't think something's working we talked about this with
10:09carlos mendoza it's a sunk cost if you think it's a sunk cost you've already paid the price for it
10:13you can move on again i get it it's not my money but i'm fine with them if they decide
10:18to move on
10:20i think they need to go the robinson cano route you know towards the end of his tenure with the
10:24new york mets right this is really very similar in comparison right you know an aging second baseman
10:29who's well past his prime and provides little value if any value to the club besides you know
10:34great experience and mentorship because obviously so many players love having robbie in the clubhouse
10:39but doesn't change the fact that he was well you know already past the player that he once was by
10:44time he landed with the mets and that only happened because his agent was literally our gm at the time
10:49shut up rudy van wagenen but the point here though with marcus simian is that he's someone where if
10:54you're the new york mets and if you're really focused on winning in 2027 um what do you say to
10:59yourself is
10:59a better scenario uh having 46 million dollars or so invest in siming the next two years and letting
11:05that ride out where he takes up a roster spot regardless as to how limited of a player he is
11:10or investing a fraction of that cost while still having to deal with that lump sum and eating that
11:17as dead money but say investing five million dollars or ten million dollars into a player
11:22that's going to give you twice the value than maybe what simian would otherwise provide for you
11:28they're off the bench too you know what i mean like mentorship only goes so far when the mets still
11:33finished the year and the record that they had and the entire purpose behind landing simian was far less
11:38on the player and far more on it really being a contract swap the mets saved i believe north of
11:4330 million dollars by having at least one less year in the contract than what they would have had
11:47with brandon nimmo otherwise so from the inception of the deal it had far more emphasis to do
11:53with really it being about not having as much of a tie down with an outfield contract for a nimmo
11:58who's going to profile best at dh more than likely soon and was a perfect guy to part ways with
12:04with
12:05passing the torch to carson bench yep it made justified sense for that reason alone the mets
12:09just found a partner to make this deal happen so when you think more and more about it it makes
12:14less and less logical sense as to why simian should be here when you again can go out and find
12:19someone
12:20either via the trade or free agent market um far less on the dollars and still is going to give
12:25you
12:25better impact i'd much rather go down the route of having the best player possible as that option
12:32than settling for the sake of contract status i'm yeah i'm with you on that the other question
12:37i have for you because i just brought it up is where are you on the brett baity of it
12:41all in this
12:42like do you look at brett baity as a realistic option or are you looking at it more the way
12:46i do
12:47where it's like okay if he's a utility guy you're cool with that i'm more than cool with baity as
12:54a
12:54utility guy and i honestly have more confidence and comfortability in baity at second base on the daily
12:59than i do marcus simian as things currently stand i'd much rather the mets go into 2027
13:05with brett baity as their quote-unquote veteran second base option along with the young guys i
13:11will get into here that are going to be battling it out for that position too because in the end
13:15for
13:16the new york mets it allows them opportunity to give runway to guys with much higher ceilings of
13:21what's currently provided in simian and if that ceiling is not met or even close to scratch by time
13:28we reach the traded line then the mets can reassess and then do what they need to do to
13:32make a proper move to maybe bolstering that position maybe that can be a point of emphasis
13:37for them as long as they're in a playoff contention conversation by time we get to the halfway mark of
13:42the year i think that's a more than logical route for them to go down i think baity is someone
13:47who can
13:47be part of a winning club i mean we've seen that uh in stretches now it's just a matter of
13:52can he
13:53continue to hone in on um handling his role which is not a guarantee thing every single day to the
14:00best of his abilities um nothing will be handed as andy green has famously stated regarding multiple
14:06players already and i like that i think that's a huge part of building culture you just can't
14:09hand everything things have to be earned and i think that competition for second base will be good
14:14now when we talk about the options warty and specifically david sterns talked about it he said
14:19when i talked about the fact he said i think we're going to have options next year and he
14:22specifically said we have a host of really good minor league infielders who are knocking on the
14:27doorstep and so sitting here right now i'm not going to commit to what second base looks like next
14:31year but i do think we've got some really good players both at the major league level and prospects
14:35that are coming that can make a productive position for us now when it comes to prospects
14:38he is talking about the following he's talking about the number one prospect in the system that is
14:43jefferson rojas we have talked plenty about him on this program we're going to talk some more
14:47mitch voight also who had himself a fantastic year and emilien petre who you and i have talked about
14:56and think might actually profile as the young player that could be given the job out of spring
15:01training just because of his contact ability doesn't strike a low strikeout rate things that
15:06we like about his game overall it seems like a pretty solid defensively in the infield at second base
15:11um we've talked a lot about these prospects do you think all three of them will have a legitimate
15:19shot to win this job
15:24as long as all three are in the organization by time we get to the start of next year that's
15:29a good
15:29point yes that's a good point um yes uh that i think that would be the biggest wrench thrown in
15:35this because um while you can never have too much of a good thing we saw a mets team let's
15:40not forget
15:40dex at the start of last year you know they trade acuna they part ways obviously with jet williams
15:46and then before you know what the mets have like no infield depth up the middle or you know at
15:50short
15:51lindor goes down with injury it's a mess you know you're banking on mauricio mauricio then goes down
15:56with injury right away and then you're just dealing with options when you say oh you know actually might
16:00have been beneficial if acuna was here or if jet williams uh did have a hot start to the or
16:05something
16:05like that so i don't think the mets need to trade an infielder just because they have uh maybe too
16:11much of a good thing at the moment um but i do think that there's an increased likelihood of that
16:16happening for them to make a move that will benefit them in a greater area of need so having said
16:22that
16:22when i look at rojas voight and petrie i mean how can you not be excited at all these guys
16:29i'm getting
16:29a rightful opportunity to compete um naturally voight is i believe the last on the list to get
16:35that immediate opportunity because he did not even get reps in syracuse yet right um so i think this is
16:39far more of a petrie versus rojas discussion and as our friend of the platform um wolf salmon uh
16:46recently came out in a great piece and stated how no rojas is essentially there already to be in the
16:51major leagues but uh you know he could have some things in the way by no fall of his own
16:56but just
16:56because the other successes the mets are having their farm ie petrie and others so um again it's
17:02a great problem to have if you're the new york mets and you know how this year was the blossoming
17:07of
17:07giving the outfield runway with the youngsters rotation runway well i think it goes without saying
17:13but 2027 is going to be all about this mets infield yeah i agree i when i read will sam's
17:19piece
17:19um you know i was i thought it was interesting in the timing of it coming at the end of
17:24the year and
17:25saying that jefferson rojas is there and look i remember you sitting right here with me in studio
17:30trade deadline day and the mets get him and the excitement that the mets fans felt because you got
17:35a guy who immediately shot up to number one as a number one prospect in the organization this is a
17:40guy who had a 929 ops in 29 games in binghamton then hit three homers in his first three games
17:48in syracuse so he has shown that he can produce at least at the plate at every level and the
17:53ascension
17:54looks great now that doesn't mean we know that he's going to hit at the major league level excuse
17:59me and we know that the mets are going to be looking at is he ready is he going to
18:02be able
18:03to handle it what's the mentality like you talked about that a lot with carson bench coming into last
18:07year if he's ready the talent the fact that will sam is talking about the talents there the mets love
18:12the hitting tools from him and his approach that's a really good thing if he's mentally ready for this
18:19to play in the major leagues even though third is supposedly the preferred position for him
18:24i i if he kills it in spring training like carson bench it if he i would love to see
18:31him take the job
18:31like carson bench it is basically what i'm saying if he can take hold of the job in that way
18:36and have
18:37himself a great spring comport himself well defensively in the field at the position and
18:41also show it at the plate i say give the kid the job um and don't don't worry about it
18:47but i like
18:48the fact that it could be his or petrie's to take i'm with you i put void third on the
18:52list even though
18:53the way void has hit has been very attractive to a lot of people and might be attractive to some
18:59people
18:59in trades not saying they should trade him but it might be that but i think i wonder how much
19:05of
19:05this is rojas is to lose will the organization empower rojas sort of the same way they did bench
19:12because that's something i think david stearns does deserve credit for they pretty much came into last
19:18year to spring training not handing it to bench but they empowered him to take advantage of this
19:24opportunity and i wonder if that same opportunity can be afforded to rojas here
19:29not only do i believe that is a strong likelihood you know spring training i don't know if we're
19:35going to have unfortunately given the pending lockout status but even with that throwing a bit
19:40of a wrench into things for these players to begin the year i think of a scenario again talking about
19:45especially if there is a world where marcus simian is not here right or say brep 80s part of with
19:51you know surprisingly because i i would find that a little surprising um all things considered
19:57there's a world where the mets could have next year where rojas and petrie could essentially be
20:04battling out and rotating early on in the year especially if there is not spring training like
20:09if they look ready the mets could go about it especially where they're just kind of flip flopping
20:13going back and forth which i think would also make sense if i'm not mistaken i think petrie is a
20:18left
20:18handed here don't quote me let me just double check right now i have it in front of me i
20:22just want
20:22to make sure that i'm talking right he is so you would also have the difference in having petrie as
20:27your lefty option for some games and then rojas as your righty option for games so already i think
20:33the mets could position themselves where they could really kind of let them battle it out and there is
20:38belief out there that petrie as good as he looks uh may profile to be more of a you know
20:44as
20:45ernest dove stated a louis guirme type i think he has upside to be higher than that but you know
20:51as a floor as someone who's high contact and versatile in the infield that's coming off the
20:57bench um that's not a that's not a bad thing to have if you're the new york mets and then
21:02rojas
21:02as more of your immediate everyday player at second base because if he's playing short naturally he
21:08should be able to handle second um more smoothly and if he is going to be the mets third baseman
21:12in
21:12the future that begs the question what do you do with both buchette who is likely to opt in barring
21:17changes as we get into october tomorrow um it really is going to be interesting to see
21:22how the mets configure this because i think that they could have bow at first and have rojas at
21:28third and have petrie at second or you know baby at second for example for when they want certain
21:33matchups assuming simian isn't here or if simian is there he gets a start one of every three days
21:37even though you don't really want it you could go down different routes of having um you know say bow
21:43at third keeping rojas at second and then lindor at short um there's creative ways that the mets can
21:50go about this but it's again a good thing for them which i'm excited about because correct me if i'm
21:55ron's ex but it feels like it's been a hot minute since we've had a bit of excitement at the
22:01mets second
22:01base position like this and trying to figure out who's exactly going to be that guy like we've had
22:07some build up about baby mauricio but nothing truly like consistent and i think that has this
22:13kind of moxie heading into next season um it's it's really cool to see it unfold the way it has
22:19yeah that's why i like the competition and i think what you just said as we wrap here is is
22:24pretty good
22:24let's say petrie um who a friend of the show ernest dove had mentioned as the luis griome type
22:30let's say that is the profile for him like i'm with you i don't think that's a bad problem to
22:36have
22:36you're getting a guy who's a utility guy be a professional coming and hit he only played 20
22:40games with syracuse hit 360 excuse me 260 not 360 had a 357 on base percentage you know i love
22:48the
22:48low strikeout rate he's a guy that can get on base it does not strike out a ton i i
22:54love that i apologize
22:56for cutting you off yeah i just want to mention do you know the stat regarding petrie and his k
23:01-to-walk
23:01ratio this season no put me on game he literally has like the best in all minor league baseball out
23:07of roughly 800 players he has the best k-to-walk ratio because he didn't even strike out 60 times
23:13this season when mind you we saw how much he struck out a year prior when the they were trying
23:18to get
23:18more power in his swing and what do you see in the home run difference from 2025 for petrie to
23:242026
23:25literally a three home run difference okay um so i'm glad that he went back to his initial
23:32hitting approach and we're seeing him again blossom the way that he has in 2026 he knows his game he
23:38knows i like that he seems like a guy and listen we'll see how that is when he gets to
23:41the major level
23:41but he knows what his approach is and what his game is when he goes to the plate and that's
23:45something
23:45i like and i think those are winning players whether he's an everyday player or is he a utility role
23:51player i think either way he the profile of him i like for this mets team and like you said
23:55if rojas
23:56becomes an everyday starter and you really like because the mets just love his upset upside as
24:02offensively they think that can go a lot higher and he is 21 so we got to remember that rojas
24:0621
24:07petrie's 23 so the age thing becomes a factor there but i think the mets like rojas is upside
24:12particularly offensively more than like petrie but that doesn't mean petrie can't be valuable
24:17as a major leaguer so it's going to be very interesting to see last thing before we go
24:22we'll make a little prediction here you think marcus simeon is on this team in 2027 or not
24:30no no marcus simeon ty wardy sounds like he's ready to drive marcus simeon to the airport himself
24:35that's what it sounds like you are ready to drive him to the airport yourself
24:39i just dex you know i was having a lot more thought with it and talking to people around the
24:44team
24:44recently and it's not like obviously that anything has been factually reported yet on that front it
24:50just if the mets are actually staying true to some of the things that they say because we know cohen
24:55can say something a couple months ago and then they do the contrary like you know doing an extensive
25:00managerial search thinking that you know andy green wasn't going to be part of they did do their due
25:04diligence according to um david stearns but you get my point here but um the point though that i think
25:10i'm trying to make though is that um and i and i apologize what did i just say second ago
25:15i had a
25:15complete brain now you said no you don't think you don't think simeon will be on the roster in 2027
25:19correct yeah i don't think he'll be on the roster because again if you're the mets if you're trying
25:24to maximize having the best players there and how it shouldn't just be handed to you i think it kind
25:29of does a disservice to the young players who are rightfully competing for spots if you're seeing a guy
25:34here who is of course missing the mark and basically all facets of their game where he's a
25:39step or two behind other guys when he's only here because of his contract status you know
25:44cohen has shown his willingness in the past to eat dollars when right he's shown that multiple times
25:50including dealing with a veteran at second base so why not go ahead and do that again and bring
25:54someone in either internally or externally at a fraction again of that cost that's going to give
25:59you better immediate output like it really doesn't make any logical sense to keep him on the roster
26:05the more that we think about it with his age with his value and if you only have to invest
26:10to say
26:11five or ten million more on top of the 46 million that you already owed to simeon i think you
26:16could bite
26:17that bullet and be happy with that knowing you're getting better output than biting the bullet on eating
26:2146 million and allowing a guy to be here that's going to be scratching around the 600 ops each of
26:27the next
26:27two seasons and doesn't provide strong base running or defense anymore you know it just it does make
26:34same thing as we have the conversations with yentos again when you don't have any aspects of your game
26:40that are a positive and a plus or it's like nick moribito has elite speed a very strong glove and
26:46he's just getting his career started justified reasons to have him on the roster and off the bench
26:50as at minimum a fourth outfielder a late game replacement you can't make these justifications with
26:56these type of players when they don't provide any positive value consistently and the areas that
27:00you need them to so i apologize for the ted talk at the end of the show here but like
27:05it just the
27:06more i think about the more it just becomes clear is my point the more you've talked about it i
27:11kind
27:11of started at the beginning of the show saying hey i would you know maybe try to evaluate what his
27:16value is and can he give some mentorship leadership to the team but the more you've talked about it
27:20and i weigh the sunk cost opportunity with the fact of like could you get better value yes you're
27:27going to pay more you're probably going to pay a lot for a player that won't be here or eat
27:29a good
27:30amount of his salary but if like you said you bring a guy in for extra five or ten million
27:33dollars
27:34that can actually give you more on the field because the goal is to win right people the goal
27:39is to win that's what you should want to do so the more and more i think about it i'm
27:43rocking with you
27:44i will say this i don't know if you will or will not be on the team none of us
27:48know i don't have a
27:48but the more you've now talked about it warty has made me think probably best if he's not i think
27:55it would be best for the mets moving forward to just cut ties new era at second base whether let
28:02these young guys battle it out or if you need to bring in a veteran that's a little bit younger
28:07to come off the bench and guide those guys along which is a cool thing and i think that could
28:10be dope
28:11too go and do that so yeah i'm smark and simian i guess what i'm saying is thank you for
28:16your
28:16service we appreciate it and now it's time to move on speaking of moving on we're gonna move on
28:21from this episode of straight out of flushing let us know what you think about marcus simian
28:26should he be with the mets in 2027 who should get the starting job at second base for the mets
28:31in
28:322027 is it one of these young guys is somebody else that they should trade for what do you think
28:36let us know in the comments that's gonna do it for this episode of straight up flushing that is
28:40my guy tyler ward aka warty i'm dexter henry we'll catch you next time
28:44on another edition of straight out of flushing peace
