00:00You know, the Cubs out of the gate kind of wobbling a little bit.
00:03If you look at everybody, you know, outside of the Dodgers and the Padres
00:07and maybe the Central Division, when it comes to baseball
00:10in the early part of the season, give me your takeaways on the Cubs right now
00:14and where they are.
00:15Concerned?
00:16Any issues with them getting out?
00:19Well, he's always worried about that pitching.
00:21I mean, Cade Hoare now is, you know, Tommy John surgery,
00:24so we won't see him again until, you know, end of 2027.
00:30You know, the reliever, Palencia, their closer.
00:34He's on the injury list right now.
00:36Matthew Boyd's on the injury list.
00:38So they're surviving, and they're going to rely on their offense.
00:42But the pitching's been fine, but it's thin.
00:46A little bit like Atlanta, I do think they need to go get another starter
00:49to get some help because it's just a thin rotation right now.
00:54So we'll see what happens.
00:55No one's, you know, running away with anything to NL Central.
00:59So they hang around.
01:01But I don't think they're nearly as good or deep than I think we envision
01:04when the season started.
01:07What's going on with the Astros?
01:09You know, not a very good start.
01:11And again, like you say, Bob, I mean, we're not going to find out
01:14for the first 25 games, and then you get into the all-star break.
01:17Then you wait for the trading deadline to find out what kind of team
01:20you're looking at here.
01:21But the Astros getting out kind of to a bumpy start here.
01:25Why?
01:27Yeah, I mean, just their pitching's been pathetic.
01:30You know, the offense has had some problems.
01:33They've had some, you know, injuries.
01:35Josh Hader, so, you know, they're all real close.
01:37They won't be back until late May.
01:39But the pitching has just been getting pummeled.
01:43Injuries, too.
01:44So we'll see.
01:46And they're lucky Seattle's run the same kind of problem.
01:49You know, no one in that AL West is taking off.
01:52So I still think they'll be hanging around.
01:55But I don't think it's a playoff team.
01:57I really don't.
01:58So we'll see what happens at the end of the season, who pays the price,
02:01whether it's a manager, whether it's a GM, or whether it's both of them.
