00:49and I was also picturing myself being at a place where I was not supposed to be there
00:57when I'm looking at my past then I realized oh so when this was happening it was not a good

01:05so now my question now goes on repentance how do I know that now my relationship with god
01:14is good yes I know I pray I do all those things and I have things that I see god
01:21is working in my life
01:22these are good things these are breakthroughs but I want to know how do I know that my relationship
01:29with god is good especially this issue of repentance your attitude to sin is a far clearer indication
01:42of your spiritual life than your current situation the truth within that statement is the answer to the
01:52question because it's common today for people to use external yardsticks to try and gauge where they
02:03are spiritually so oh maybe maybe I've had a testimony I've received a blessing or a breakthrough
02:09oh that means god has favored me I'm a child of god I'm in the right place with god or
02:14I've been
02:15healed of a sickness and my health is good so I'm a child of god but these are not
02:23measurements that we should use to determine where we are spiritually our attitude to sin
02:30is a much clearer indication why because what does sin ultimately do sin separates us from god
02:43and you talked about repentance and i've talked in this message today about repentance and it's a very
02:49common theme we talk about because what is repentance repentance is the recognition of that and
03:01returning to god running back to god to ask for forgiveness knowing that his blood shed on the cross of
03:08calvary is the only thing that can contain the wild fire uh that's caused by by sin look people of
03:16god
03:18we're not here to just use spiritual language loosely we are talking about real life and real situations
03:29there's no one present here including myself who can claim perfection no one is perfect
03:38when i talk about attitude to sin i'm not talking about absence of wrong it doesn't mean you are not
03:45going to make a mistake but what do you do when you realize that's a clearer reflection of your relationship
03:53with god because i can know the spirits of god prompts my conscience i can know when i do the
04:04wrong thing
04:05i can know when i take the wrong step i can know when i see what i'm not supposed to
04:11see i can know when i go
04:13where i'm not supposed to go you can know how the spirit of god
04:22prompts your conscience through the word stored in your hearts
04:28now what do you do when your conscience is prompted do you blame or do you change

04:44not the absence of wrong but the speed at which you recognize and get back on track
04:49if we justify sin if we downplay sin if we minimize sin it's a sign we are not in the

05:03spiritually it's not about blessings it's not about material progress a man can be sick in body yet be a
05:16friend of god to quote prophet tb joshua a man can be poor
05:24yet they are richer in spirits than the billionaires of this world
05:32so we don't measure spiritual things by material yardsticks my sister our attitude to sin
05:46this is why we must feed our conscience with the word of god we must feed our souls with the
06:00word of god
06:01because the word of god reveals the standard of god for what is right and wrong today's world
06:09is trying to flip that standard not just shift it i hope you understand it's not just to shift the
06:18standard it's trying to flip the standard right becomes wrong wrong becomes rights that is the work of
06:24satan there are many things that happen in society today that people say it's okay
06:30it's fine it's okay but if you go to the bible as the standard it is wrong it's sin
06:39just because others do it doesn't make it right
06:43just because you see someone sinning without consequence does not mean that you with a knowledge
06:50of truth can take the same course and expect the same results
06:55anyway the the deception that one sins without consequence is a lie
07:00if you sin without immediate consequence is just preparing you for the
07:04more significant consequence that is coming god may give perhaps there is time for repentance
07:11but it's not a sign of his approval if you see someone maybe they even claim to be a christian
07:16but
07:16you know they are living an ungodly life and they don't seem to see the repercussions
07:21don't think that well god's favor is on that person they can sin without consequence
07:27it's not a sign of god's approval it's a sign of god's patience to encourage them to repentance
07:34but if you don't repent my brothers and sisters in christ
07:49pray that the spirit of god would touch their hearts to let go of any past pain caused by your
07:55words
07:55and if an opportunity comes and you do have an encounter with the person do your best to take
08:02that step of reconciliation
