00:07So 72-22, the Senate has passed this bill to go through and to become law here that they're going

00:18I never thought in my entire life that I would ever see television networks protecting the National Communist Association of

00:30You know, one of the reasons that I got into sports talk was because I always thought that the NCAA,
00:36who took my eligibility away from me when I was a young kid and my senior year away from me,
00:42was always the worst thing on the planet when it came to players that played in this great sport, college
00:49sports, college basketball, college football, obviously the moneymakers.
00:53I never thought I would ever watch a show like Game Day and Nick Saban, absolutely chill for the television
01:02networks.
01:03This is not and has anything to do when it comes to protecting college sports.
01:08This has everything to do with protecting television contracts and TV rights.
01:14This is about guardrails for the players.

02:48Now when the kids get the chance to make money and go wherever they want, people have a problem with

02:52So when you let the genie out of the bottle, what did you think was going to happen?
02:58When you gave kids the ability to be able to be mobile, when did you actually think that that was
03:05not going to have collateral damage and circumstances that you didn't like?
03:11ESPN, Fox, they run college football.
03:15Take a look at the top 25.
03:18Look at the brands that they have in the top 25.
03:21Look at all the brands.
03:23For the top 25 college football rankings for this past week, every single one of them are all major brands.
03:31You're not really looking at what schools are the best teams in the country.
03:35You're looking at the brands that sell and attract ratings.
03:39This is about two things, ratings and revenue.
03:43I would like to see the kids and the players do this one day.
03:46Hey, when you're collectively bargaining with a network and the SEC or the Big Ten is sitting down talking TV
03:54contracts, I think the players should have somebody representing them too.
03:59Sitting there talking about the TV contracts for all the Big Ten players.

05:07This will not go forward once it gets into a courtroom.
05:12This Protect College Sports Act is the biggest hypocritical act in all of sports now.
05:19And the leader of it is Nick Saban.
05:22He got out because he didn't want to pay kids.
05:25He got out because he didn't want to stroke checks to these kids.
05:28And this is why Davo Sweeney now is getting killed at Clemson.
05:31It's because he didn't want to be involved with this now.
05:34And those two coaches are too old to be in this sport.
05:38And the best years for them have gone by the wayside.
