This was a fun project that I have been messing around with for sometime. Although I ran into numerous issues and it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped it was still successful and I hope it inspires others to create mods just like this one.
I wanted to add wireless charging to my original GameBoy. I had just recently purchased an everdrive flash cart and along with having a bunch of games I wanted to be able to charge it with a USB cable or wireless charger. I tried using old cell phone batteries as well as AAA batteries to charge it but with no way to regulate charging they would get over charged and stop working only after a few charging attempts. So I settled on using a rechargeable night light I had and after removing the light and then connecting the smartphone wirless plate adapter it held the charge and would stop once fully charged. Since this was a 3V battery I then connected a 3v to 6v convertor directly to the batter and then from the convertor attached the - & + to the GameBoy leads.
