00:11But let's talk about the holiday yesterday. Most of us enjoyed its emitting rain and cloudy skies for much of
00:18the day.
00:18But unfortunately for some areas, the weather turned quite rough.
00:22A scattered thunderstorm associated with the ITCZ brought strong gusty winds to parts of Trinidad with a downburst impacting Santa
00:31Grande.
00:32At least eight homes lost their roofs, two people were injured and one man was hospitalized.
00:39A cell tower was also brought down with power outages reported across parts of Central and Northeastern Trinidad.
00:46Meanwhile, the heaviest rainfall was recorded across eastern and southern Trinidad with totals between 20 and 50 millimeters.
00:55And today, an isolated thunderstorm affected portions of Trinidad's southwestern peninsula, mainly between Penal and Point 14.
01:04Additional isolated showers were also noted across portions of the Northern Range, generally north and west of Arima,
01:12tracking west-southwestward toward portions of the east-west corridor.
01:16Elsewhere got sunny to partly cloudy skies.
01:20Now, what kind of night will we have?
01:22The Met Office says a generally settled one, apart from showers over a few areas,
01:27with minimum temperatures at 26 degrees in Trinidad and 27 over in Tobago.
01:32Now, heavy showers or thunderstorm activity can occur, but chances are low.
01:37And for tomorrow, well, there's more rain ahead.
01:40We will start off our Saturday with cloudy skies, with scattered showers likely, especially from mid-morning.
01:47That can become thundery.
01:49However, conditions should settle by nightfall, apart from lingering isolated showers.
01:54And remember, street or isolated flash flooding is possible in the event of heavy downpours.
02:00Now, daytime temperatures will reach up to 52 degrees in Trinidad and Tobago as well.
02:05And the Met Office says the sun will return to the new week.
02:09Sunday and Monday will be generally hot and sunny, but a few party cloudy spells and showers are likely during
02:15the afternoon.
02:17Western areas of Trinidad, thunderstorm activity can favour your area.
