03:19injuries like what nick just suffered which is a pulled calf are directly related to the recovery
03:28of his other injuries and here's what he said my thought is that it is highly likely related to all
03:38of his other injuries particularly the acl we do see a lot of athletes after their first couple of
03:46games back will start having soft tissue injuries because they are either compensating or trying to
03:53play at a level that their body is not ready for yet also with bosa he has had multiple surgeries
04:01on his knees as well as his core muscles so he is set up in terms of the way that
04:08he plays
04:09for these types of injuries we have a tendency to think that coming off an acl surgery there won't be
04:17any major issues but these types of things do crop up frequently and he's had multiple of them
04:25yeah that's a great breakdown and it makes a lot of sense as he starts to get closer to his

04:31birthday and you think about all the football he's played back to high school and then ohio state and
04:36now in the pros there's a certain amount of wearing down that's natural but when you have
04:41two acls on the one and then one on the other and the core muscle surgery and now you've got
04:45a calf
04:46and you know he's had other little things go wrong at some point your body's just saying enough

06:52we have a tendency to think that because he has had these phenomenal one to two game stretches
06:58that he is going to be the nick bosa from his early career but you just can't have the types

07:06injuries he has had and expect him to overcome them particularly since there is likely to be
07:12some pretty significant wear and tear yeah and to me when we're talking about a guy
07:18who has a contract out at the end of this year and had to be managed at such a high
07:26level during
07:26training camp and he played two games and he played them well i am going to like i give him
07:31all the
07:32credit in the world he played them well and then you have this pop-up and i know it's not
07:37a season
07:38ender by any stretch um but if i'm looking at at this situation and how this is tracking
07:46and listening to an expert say that i would i would lean right now pretty heavily in the department
07:54of this potentially being nick bosa's final year with the team and if it is then you have to be
08:01prepared to take a pretty significant dead cap hit and you do get cap savings in that you won't have
08:08to pay him the money that he was going to make salary wise because he won't be here but there
08:12is a
08:12certain up to maybe 50 million that just goes kapow you talk about the boom niners have a lot
08:18of cap room so they might make that decision and say we're just gonna we're gonna take the hit and
08:23take the dead cap and sorry nick but you can't do what you used to do and we're not going
08:28to be able
08:28to pay you your base next year which is 32.7 uh that's that can't happen so my my concern

08:37is less about this moment and it's more about so what happens when he does come back you know is
08:46it almost at this point fair to assume that on some level this is likely to happen every handful of

09:12right games because he's not gonna play all the games it seems like it's very steph curry-ish to me
