00:00The news is way better than I think a lot of people expected with Jaden Daniels.
00:04They're saying no IR, no surgery.
00:08He's going to be week to week.
00:09That could mean it's four weeks and it's San Francisco.
00:12It could mean maybe the Giants at home.
00:14Hell, it could mean the Colts next week in London.
00:17What do you think?
00:18Let's go to Franco in D.C.
00:21Frank, what's up, man?
00:22Hey, what's up?
00:23What's up, B. Mitchell?
00:25What's up, man?
00:26Hey, man, do me a thing, man.
00:28I thank y'all, man, for letting the fans talk.
00:31I'm including myself, too.
00:33Man, we fans and we got all these opinions.
00:36But when we start talking stupid, do me one favor.
00:40Use our name to get rid of it.
00:41Fan us off.
00:42Because, you know, we call you, man, we want to analyze the game.
00:45It's all right to have an opinion.
00:47But, my God, they can't get serious.
00:49So, including myself, when I start talking crazy, use our name.
00:52Fan us off.
00:53That's what I want to say.
00:54I love y'all, man.
00:54All right, man.
00:55Appreciate you.
00:56Thanks, buddy.
00:59That was an interesting call.
01:00What are you saying?
01:01When they get out the box, correct them and say bye.
01:04I think you do, B.
01:05I try my best.
01:07Let's go to Red in Falls Church.
01:10Red, what do you make of the Jaden News getting ready for Seattle this weekend?
01:14Hey, what's up, JP?
01:16What's up, Brian, man?
01:17What's up, brother?
01:17How you doing, man?
01:19All right.
01:19Hey, thanks for taking my call.
01:21I think that's some awesome news as far as him not having, you know, surgery and going
01:26on IR and stuff like that.
01:28However, I think maybe in the offseason we may have to revisit somehow because we've got
01:33to get some stability on that elbow.
01:35But there's another thing I wanted to talk about.
01:38Like, we're always talking about the negatives on the team and what we should do with this,
01:41that, and the third.
01:42But I see a lot of positives.
01:44I know the last time I called, JP was like, well, I don't know how he felt like that when
01:49I said that, you know, I see a lot of good things.
01:51But I think that running back Allen, man, he is a dog.
01:56That dude is a dog.
01:57He runs violently.
01:58He runs hard.
01:59Not taking anything away from Krosky Merritt or anything.
02:02But I think we need to revisit that.
02:06We have a lot of great weapons in Diggs and McLaurin as well.
02:10So I think we need to, you know, talk about a lot of the positives and the good things
02:15we have and how we can work on those things.
02:17Thanks for taking my call, brother.
02:18Y'all have a good day.
02:19All right, man.
02:20Appreciate you.
02:21Yeah, I think that's fair.
02:23I think, you know, I don't think anybody would have been shocked if they started 0-3
02:28even with Jaden in.
02:30Maryland Governor Westmore was almost about an hour ago and said the same.
02:32You know, I think Seattle would have been tough if Jaden was playing.
02:35So I think we can get to the finish line of this stretch.
02:40Then it's London, the Giants with Jameis at San Fran.
02:44Did you just tell me Nick Bosa's out for the year?
02:47Like, it's a...
02:48It's trending that way, yeah.
02:49NFL seasons are living, breathing organisms that shift over the course of four months.
02:54So nothing is over, folks.
02:57Juan is in Fairfax.
02:58Juan, what do you think about the Jaden Daniels news?
03:01Good morning, gentlemen.
03:02Good morning.
03:03Good morning.
03:03Good morning.
03:04I'm hyped.
03:04I'm hyped.
03:05I don't know why everybody's worried about the wrong thing.
03:08I don't know why everybody's so much worried about why Adam Peters is doing the day on
03:12energy with the Junkies.
03:14I'm worried about these memes that we just got.
03:16I'm hyped.
03:18And Trey Inmost is coming back.
03:20Put the seatbelt on.
03:21Let's go, man.
03:22Let's go.
03:23All right, brother.
03:25I love it.
03:28Thank you, Juan.
03:29Let's go.
03:29Appreciate you, bud.
03:32See you, man.
03:34Juan is hyped.
03:35Yep.
03:36Stallion, how are you feeling?
03:37Let's check in with old Ryan the Stallion.
03:39Did you see him with the scuba dances?
03:41I'm excited.
03:43I want to see Jaden play well.
03:46But also, I also want them to be cautious.
03:49Stallion, stand up and do that scuba dance for Joey on Monumental.
03:51I'll do the scuba dance real quick.
03:54Scuba.
03:56I know.
03:56It's tough.
03:57That's tough.
03:57You cannot dance, bro.
03:59You are horrible.
04:00My lips are my lips.
04:02My hips are not loose.
04:02I'll tell you that much.
04:03But I'm excited.
04:04I think the commanders should be very cautious, though.
04:07Wait till this guy's 100%.
04:08They should not be trying to do anything to rush this guy back.
04:11This is the future.
04:12You should prioritize his future and his health and get him back when he's 100%.
04:16Are you good with the decision, though, to askew surgery?
04:20Yeah.
04:21If they deem that that's what he's fine with at this point, then go for it.
04:26I know he's flown out to California, at least.
04:28He's visited with specialists on this.
04:31And we had two docs on with us this week that said, yeah, you can do the surgery,
04:36but it's not a lock that the surgery fixes anything.
04:38You know what I mean?
04:39Yeah.
04:39Or permanently fixes anything.
04:42So I can wrap my brain around all this right now.
04:45I think it's positive news.
04:47Elijah's in D.C.
04:48What's up, Eli?
04:50What's going on, fellas?
04:52Thanks for taking my call.
04:53What's up, brother?
04:53I think it's important that they walk the line of caution without treating him like glass
05:00because you don't want to kill that aggressive nature that helps one of the things that makes him elite.
05:06So I think what we do is moving forward.
05:10It's about refinement.
05:12Instead of focusing on the restrictions and telling him, no, no, no, and sending him out with a bunch of
05:16rules,
05:17you focus on the things and refine.
05:20Jaden's going to have to start beating defenses with his mind and manipulating teams with his eyes.
05:26And he has great short area quickness.
05:29So he's not taking a bunch of sacks.
05:31So what he's going to have to do is he's going to have to scramble with the idea of passing
05:36the ball,
05:37not scrambling to run.
05:40So Belal's going to have to put some underneath routes for him as he's scrambling.
05:44So if the deep shot isn't there, he can go to those underneath passes or just throw the ball away.
05:51But if he runs, have him slide.
05:54The slide is fine.
05:55But he has been doing that.
05:57I think it's important to point that he's been doing that.
05:59He was doing all of that.
06:01Yeah, you can't eliminate that stuff.
06:03But that, how he got hurt is fluke.
06:05The last thing I want to say for y'all, go ahead, go ahead.
06:07I'm just saying how he got hurt was fluke, but he was doing everything you just stated.
06:10Yeah.
06:12Absolutely.
06:13And the last thing I want to say, because I was saying my brother retired from the UFC,
06:17and we do a lot of UFC things, a lot of wrestling drills.
06:20They need to get him an MMA, combat, sports, and wrestling coach to show him how to go down to
06:26the ground.
06:27I know the turf and the mats in UFC, they are different.
06:32However, martial artists, how we have to go to the ground, you got to show the pads,
06:36because I play ball too, but you have to recognize you can't extend your arm
06:40because wrestlers will have so many injuries.
06:43Arms will be broken all the time because you always are moving on the mat.
06:47So they're going to have to get him a coach, getting up from the cage, going down,
06:51those are drills that build that area, and I think they need to do that for him, man.
06:56Putting his hand in rice buckets, building those forearms, those are real drills that actually help build that area.
07:03Because he's going stiff on him because he's got to play ball, y'all.
07:07So give him the stuff he needs.
07:09I think he actually needs those types of coaches and get him the stuff he needs.
07:12So when he's going down, he's not extending his arm all the way.
07:16He's going to have to shield his body another way.
07:19That's a no-no.
07:21In combat sports, that's a cardinal sin.
07:23And I know I'm curious what y'all think about that.
07:26He's got to change that up, man.
07:28No, I think that call you're saying is cool, and that's something he could possibly add as he moved forward.
07:34But that's something the player can also do.
07:40I think a few things can be true.
07:42People want to say, Blau's got to call it different.
07:43You don't want to take away the aggression.
07:46If you watch the way he played the first half in Dallas, one, he was lights out.
07:50Two, he was using his legs.
07:51But he didn't get hit once in that game.
07:54He only went down when his offensive linemen stepped on him, okay?
07:58And I think the evolution we've seen of Jaden, we saw it week one in Philly throwing the ball away
08:03more.
08:03Now the Eagles were really disciplined in their gaps, in their pass rush integrity, right?
08:10So there wasn't a ton of room for Jaden to run in week one against Philly, but he was throwing
08:14the ball away.
08:15Week two, the Cowboys were absolutely undisciplined in their rush gaps, right?
08:19So Jaden was able to take advantage.
08:21And he was really, really smart at sliding and getting down and getting out of bounds.
08:26I wouldn't expect that to change.
08:28I don't think they have to change a whole lot.
08:30Yeah.
08:30What are you laughing about?
08:32London Fletcher's on one.
08:34I haven't pressed play yet.
08:35He did it with him and Fred yesterday.
08:37Nah, I got you, London.
08:41Andrew's in D.C.
08:42What's up, Andrew?
08:45Hey, guys.
08:46Thanks for taking my call.
08:47I'm real happy that Jaden doesn't need to go on IR and will be back soon.
08:50I'm just worried about, like, how they plan on mitigating it from happening again.
08:55Like, once it's like a fluke, but twice it's starting to become like a pattern.
09:00And I'm worried about, like, a brace and how helpful that'll be when it wasn't that helpful in the Minnesota
09:05game.
09:06And, like, if he needs, like, a bigger brace, will that just make him, like, more difficult for him to,
09:11like, move and, like, stiff arm?
09:13And to, like, will it be more cautious?
09:15Like, I don't want that to happen.
09:16I want him to be playing like Jaden.
09:18Well, I mean, I'm sure that's something that they're going to have to figure out.
09:22And I think he will probably want something smaller and longer, stronger.
09:27But I think the ultimate thing, if they're saying the brace, because they can probably put the brace at an
09:34angle where it probably won't extend to where it could dislocate.
09:40But then he may have to learn how to hand the ball off going certain ways with his offhand.
09:47And I've seen people do that.
09:49Yeah, I think, I mean, it's a good point.
09:53Because after he hurt the elbow for the first time last year against the Seahawks, they came back.
09:59And remember, he had the big brace on in Minnesota.
10:01And then he took the shot, landed on his elbow, and they just pulled him at that point.
10:06It was not a secret that he probably could have come back again after Minnesota.
10:10But the season was so far gone that they just weren't going to do it.
10:14This is a different scenario.
10:15It's week three that they're going into that we know, you know, he won't be playing this week.
10:20But we don't know after that.
10:21But I, I'm not sure, I think maybe something needs to be, as much as they've coached into Jaden, we've
10:30seen it sliding, throwing the ball away, getting out of bounds.
10:33Is there a coaching point, Brian, about like, you know, try to avoid landing on that left elbow?
10:38Can you teach that?
10:40No, because you get hit in awkward ways on the football field.
10:44Certainly.
10:44But like, but like the, like the kid, like Jeremiah, no, Elijah was saying, you learn how to fall without
10:51extending.
10:53Like, you go down here.
10:56Like, when I went over the handlebars, for some reason, I don't know why I didn't do this.
11:02I did this.
11:04You know what I'm saying?
11:05I went over the handlebar and I turned, I lit, I hit my back.
11:09Like, I didn't extend my arm.
11:11If I extend my arm, I wouldn't be sitting here talking with you all just, with just a little scrape
11:16on my leg.
11:16You see what I'm saying?
11:18So, it's that, that, that mindset to always extend.
11:22Can you learn that quick?
11:23Huh?
11:24Can you learn that quick?
11:25Listen, I just, it came to me over time.
11:28I mean, I can watch times when I were to get tackled and you roll.
11:35You know what I'm saying?
11:36And, and there, a lot of people where every time they get hit, they do that.
11:40That may be something you can get taught.
11:43I don't know.
11:44And, and maybe for Jaden, at this point, he's realizing like, all right, this left elbow is a problem.
11:49I'm going to put this brace on here as much as possible.
11:52And you can't, if you come in, if he gets blasted on the right side and gets smooshed down on
11:57his left side, he probably doesn't have much of an option.
11:59Yeah.
12:00But if he is going down and he realizes like, whether he's going down on his own or he can
12:05tuck that arm under and go down on his side.
12:08But it's like you always say with injuries, if you start to account for too much of something on one
12:12spot, could he then land on his shoulder or his hip or something else?
12:16Yeah, but the shoulder, the hip got a little bit more cushioning than the elbow.
12:20You got to, he's going to have to still play football and you don't want to change the football player
12:26he is.
12:27Yeah.
12:27But I do think at the same time, he could be a sharper back.
12:32He could like, he could try to have that in his mind and we'll see.
12:37It's hard for me to view today as anything but positive news.
12:41Yeah, I'm with you on that.
12:42If you want to be like the extreme skeptic and be like, man, this is just Jaden pushing it through
12:47again.
12:47He wants to play and what if he gets hurt again?
12:52Like, if he plays, say it's two weeks from now in the Giants game, plays a month and then hurts
12:59his ankle, that probably has nothing to do with any of this.
13:02If he plays again and then hurts the elbow again, then they probably are really thrust into a spot where
13:08you got to make a decision on the surgery.
13:10But the thing of it, like the thing I'm saying, Jay, is that, that, that brace they had last time
13:15is one thing.
13:17That was able to go out tier two.
13:19If you get a brace now and you make it here to where it doesn't overly extend, you get what
13:24I'm saying?
13:24Yep.
13:25But you may still be able to hand off with it.
13:27You know, like you had people, uh, my buddy had broken this, uh, his elbow area in baseball right now.
13:35He is when he put both arms out, one of them is shorter.
13:39Dude still can play golf.
13:41He figured it out.
13:43So you can figure out still how to hand the ball off with the little shorter.
13:47The arm may be half inch, two inch shorter.
13:52So it still can work.
13:53But there are ways you can doctor those braces to where it protect you from overextending or even popping out.
14:01That's certainly the hope, right?
