00:00If you just heard Savannah McCann's tweet, there's breaking news.
00:04Adam Schefter tweeted out, Washington's QB1 vs. the Giants
00:08with a picture of Jaden Daniels, and it says, full go, and it says, breaking news.
00:13I'd like to have a conversation about the news cycle in the NFL particularly.
00:21Jaden practiced last week, and the coach said, he can't go this week,
00:26but we're really looking forward to next week.
00:28In postgame, after the loss in London, the coach said, you know,
00:32our plan is for Jaden to be the guy.
00:34On Monday, the coach said, Jaden's going to practice all week,
00:37and the plan is for him to start on Sunday.
00:40On Wednesday, Quinn said, we're really excited to have Jaden back out there.
00:44On Wednesday, Jaden said, I'm good, can't wait, the brace is part of me,
00:48we're ready to go.
00:49What constitutes this as breaking news?
00:52On Thursday, David Blouse said, Jaden's full go, he's going to go.
00:58So, like, I recognize there is value for the NFL media apparatus
01:05to have Adam Schefter, who has 12 million followers, post this.
01:12Because you and I live inside of these walls, inside of this bubble,
01:16that we understand where Jaden is and that he'll be back
01:19and that this was always the plan.
01:21Like, we're cognizant and aware of this.
01:24It's just remarkable that because we've been talking about this all week
01:29and it's Thursday, but then Schefter tweets it out, makes it breaking news.
01:35It's how it goes.
01:36They can do what they want, but you know what?
01:38The whole thing about it is you, we've talked about it every day,
01:42and if people just follow suit, they know he was going this week, point blank.
01:49And then David said it earlier.
01:52So, I don't think, after David says it, don't you think anything after that
01:58is no longer breaking?
02:01I continue to be blown away by the NFL media apparatus, and maybe I shouldn't be.
02:08I do think there has been some shift since ESPN acquired NFL Network
02:15and the NFL bought stake into ESPN.
02:18Like, it's grown that much more incestuous as, like, too negative of a connotation.
02:24But, like, it's just crazy.
02:27Like, a couple weeks ago when we were waiting to hear information on Jaden,
02:33Dan Quinn had a 3 p.m. Zoom call scheduled with local reporters.
02:38At about 2.58 p.m., that got postponed to 3.10.
02:42And I jokingly texted Nicky Javala.
02:45I was like, oh, they've got to text all the national guys.
02:47Then about 3.03 p.m., Rap Sheet, Schefter, Pelissero all posted the news.
02:53Then Quinn came on with us at 3.10 and told us the news.
02:56Like, there is such a cycle to all this.
02:59Maybe I'm just too close to it.
03:00But there's nothing new, Jaden.
03:01That's been like that for years.
03:03Yeah.
03:03And let's be real.
03:05I think, like, the reason I look, whenever I hear some stuff
03:11and they hadn't put it out there yet, I really don't care if they put it out.
03:17If I hear from people that I know are legitimate, I know it's going to happen.
03:21And then when they put it out, you know, it's a lot of people who wait for them to put
03:25it out.
03:26Let's be right, though.
03:27If they put something out, you can damn nearer, you can just snap it.
03:30Because it's normally exactly what the team is telling people.
03:34Because every team goes to certain people.
03:37Sure.
03:37So.
03:38It's, I mean, whatever, it's great news.
03:40Jaden Daniels, QB1 for the Giants game.
03:43We've been saying that ever since the game ended last week.
03:45I know.
03:47You and I were saying it in London, that he's going to start against New York.
03:51As everybody was like, oh, he might start in London.
03:53I was like, no, I'm pretty sure he's not going to play.
03:55He's going to start against the Giants at home.
03:57Do you have any concern?
04:00I don't know how to phrase this.
04:02There is concern, belief, if you will, that the weather is going to be terrible for Sunday.
04:11Do you care at all that Jaden's going to be coming back with terrible weather?
04:15No.
04:17Fans will say that.
04:18Why do you tell them not to worry about that?
04:19I mean, it's football.
04:22Football is the one sport that's played in all types of weather, right?
04:26Yeah.
04:26So if it's raining, if it's sunshine, snow, the guy plays.
04:31What do you want to say?
04:32Oh, I mean, I've said we put people in bubble wrap.
04:36Now you want to have a perfect day before you let them play?
04:39Hell, you play one, two games a year.
04:41I mean, whether it's weather or not, you've got to play.
04:44He has to be cautious if the weather's perfect.
04:49So you have to be more cautious when the weather's bad.
04:51And to be honest with you, when the weather's bad, guys are not much slower.
04:57You just have to make sure you're planning on your outside foot,
05:01not trying to go on your inside foot where you're slipping things like that.
05:04You know, just be a little bit more decisive in what you're doing.
05:09And when it's wet, who has the advantage?
05:12The person on offense more than likely has the advantage.
05:18It's interesting, man.
05:20Jaden Daniels is going to be QB1 this week.
05:22If that is breaking news to you, congratulations.
05:25There's the breaking news.
05:26Like, Stallion, when you see that Schefter tweet, did you feel any differently?
05:30I mean, it's like the gut feeling was we all knew that he was going to go.
05:35But, I mean, the fact that it's, like, you know, official because we all know
05:38that everyone feeds Schefter everything, it's like, hey, it's now official.
05:43Like, he's the QB1 for Sunday.
05:44And I do think for Schefter to post that gets a broad audience because if you are a Broncos fan
05:51or a Chargers fan or whatever it is, you may not have been keeping up with the day-to-day
05:57Jaden Daniels situation.
05:59So, like, I can understand that.
06:00And the fantasy football fans all around the country.
06:02Right.
06:02You know?
06:03But the coach that coaches him said it in his talk.
06:11And that was that the Schefter tweet was after that.
06:16Right.
06:16So, if Blouse.
06:19Yeah, like, you'll notice he's not saying per source.
06:21Well, actually, it's one that says per David Blouse.
06:26And it was before that one.
06:28That's the one I'll go with.
06:32Um, just the whole breakdown of it all.
06:35Let's check in with the homie Sam Andrew.
06:37It's always a treat when Sam Andrews comes in.
06:38Sam Andrew.
06:39Sam Andrew, Jaden Daniels, now starting QB1.
06:42Did you feel like you were aware of that or did you need Schefter to let you know?
06:46Oh, no.
06:46My number one source is you, JP, so I already knew.
06:49My guy.
06:50Yes, sir.
06:51What a nice young man that film is.
06:53Sam Andrew, you kissing butt.
06:54What the hell?
06:55Well, both of you, B. Mitch and NJP.
06:58Now he's kissing butt.
06:58Now you puckering.
07:00A lot of butt talk.
07:02Beauty is Maximus.
07:04Sam Andrew, did you watch the Caps last night?
07:06I did not, no.
07:07What were you doing last night?
07:08Last night, I was finishing up my podcast.
07:11You have a podcast, Sam Andrew?
07:13I do, yes.
07:14Oh, I bet that's electric.
07:14What's the name of it?
07:15Electric.
07:17It's called And Andrew, a Washington Commanders and Wizards podcast.
07:22And Andrew.
07:24How'd you come up with the name?
07:26So, when I was working at my first TV station, I was talking to my colleagues and trying
07:31to figure out a name.
07:31And one of my coworkers, she was like, why don't you say, like, And Andrew?
07:35Because And Andrew has to say X, Y, Z.
07:37And I was like, that sounds good.
07:38So, I went with it.
07:39Have you thought about rebranding it to Sam and Andrew?
07:43I'll have to think.
07:46He's like, I don't know who Sam is.
07:47So, Sam Andrew, Pope Leo didn't get it done for you last night, pal.
07:53I know, I was disappointed, but the Sox will be back.
07:56It's, uh, the Christian religion, it's, there's adversity, you know?
08:01It's a hard path, you know?
08:02It's about having faith.
08:04I'm not laughing at that.
08:05That's correct.
08:06I just, to me, find it pretty remarkable to make a baseball pick based on the Pope.
08:11But that's just me, dog.
08:12No, I hear you.
08:13People gotta choose their own path.
08:15Yes.
08:15Um, is that game five tonight or game four?
08:19Game four tonight.
08:20Okay.
08:21Uh, we're all rooting for the White Sox.
08:23Sam Andrew because of the Pope.
08:24The rest of us because of the Japanese dude that's hysterical.
08:27Um, I also asked Kime yesterday, because we couldn't, John Kime's the only Guardians fan
08:33we can identify.
08:34He said, one, London Fletcher is a big Guardians fan, because Fletch is a Cleveland guy.
08:40We're gonna find out.
08:41And two, we'll text him, two, Kime said his brother, Bill Kime, I have no idea John's
08:47brother's name, we'll go with Bill, and he said Bill Kime's an even bigger fan than he
08:51is, so if we need more, um, who else can we name from Cleveland?
08:55Bone Thugs?
08:56I think.
08:56They cheer for somebody else.
08:58No, they used to wear Indians gear in the video.
09:01They were Indians fans, they're not a Guardians fan.
09:03You don't think they converted?
09:04Probably not.
09:04I do, I'm not trying to be disrespectful here.
09:07I fear we've lost at least one original member of Bone Thugs.
09:12I think somebody's passed.
09:12Yeah, I think he has.
09:14So that's, that's one fewer Guardians fan.
09:16Um, Drew Carey's famously from Cleveland.
09:19Kid Cudi, can we confirm if Kid Cudi is?
09:21Let me take a second!
09:23That's Drew, no, that's not Drew Carey.
09:25Drew Carey's the dude with the glasses, the little chubby dude.
09:27I have no idea who that was.
09:28I was doing, uh, uh, uh, uh, what's the one that played on Pet, Pet Cemetery?
09:32I have no idea.
09:34You know Pet Cemetery?
09:35The movie?
09:36Yeah, the comedian.
09:38What was it, uh, like, what year did Pet Cemetery come out of?
09:44Man, I don't have, I don't, hell, I don't know.
09:46Drew, no, not Drew Carey.
09:48There's a novel.
09:49He's a comedian.
09:50There's a novel by Peter King?
09:52No, no, no, it was, it was a comedy.
09:54Pet Cemetery.
09:55Was it Pet Cemetery?
09:56Or Pet something else?
09:58I don't, hell, I don't know.
09:59When we say the name, we'll, we'll, we'll all go, okay.
10:02I'm glad we got to the bottom.
10:03She is tied to the Guardians pretty well.
10:06Okay.
10:07What, what's the comedian, uh, that, what is, was it Pet Cemetery or Pet something else?
10:12Brian, you know everything.
10:13Yeah, Brian, figure out what Beeman's just asking you.
10:17The comedian, he's kind of skinny.
10:20Jim Carrey?
10:22There you go.
10:23Oh, Ace Ventura, Pet Detective.
10:25That's who you're thinking of.
10:26Pet Detective.
10:26Pet Sematary.
10:27Pet Sematary.
10:27I said Pet Sematary.
10:28Pet Detective, all right.
10:30Oh, I'm at double movies together.
10:32I was like, Pet Sematary is definitely not a funny movie.
10:35Well, you got, you, you, you, you got it, damn it.
10:38Yo, good for the stallion.
10:40Investigative trouble.
10:41Kenny, Kenny, my boy Kenny was texting me Jim.
10:43Jim Carrey, let me tell you something.
10:45I know what you're talking about now.
10:46Well, as soon as I said that, you should have known.
10:48But that movie is tied to the Miami Dolphins, not Ace Ventura.
10:53I don't care.
10:55I'm just saying the damn, I thought when you said Carrey, I was thinking that Carrey.
10:59Oh, so that was a Jim Carrey, Drew.
11:01Okay, I get it now.
11:02God.
11:03I understand.
11:04I don't know that that's my fault for not understanding how we got from A to B.
11:08I said, you said Drew, and I said, no, Drew, the Chevy guy.
11:11We were trying to figure out Jim Carrey after that.
11:14We had already left your Cleveland stuff.
11:16It's Beam and Chief Finlay.
