00:09that is through travel and the amazing people you meet and I'd like to think that hopefully I can
00:14inspire someone to I guess be a part of that. Hi, my name is Shannon Donoghue and I'm very proud
00:19to
00:19have been nominated for the Australian Agriculture Award in the Nutrien Next Gen Leader Award.
00:25So I'm based up here in Jamestown in the Mid-North and I work for Australian Wool Innovation as the
00:31Industry Relations Officer for South Australia and Tasmania. So my background in wool started in the
00:36Humble Shearing Sheds so I traveled all around Australia and all over the world in the sheds.
00:42I really fell in love with the travel and the people that you meet. So when I first became a
00:47wool handling trainer after becoming a wool handler and wool classer I really had a passion for teaching
00:53young people in the wool industry and it's really blossomed from there. So since then I have created
01:00a social media in both TikTok and Instagram and I love educating people about the wool pipeline and
01:08that's everywhere from on ground all the way through processing and selling and all the way to the final
01:13garment. So things like where you can get affordable wool clothing but then when it comes to animal
01:18husbandry taking amazing drone shots of what we do out in the country. I've had really great
01:23opportunities when it comes to being at Sheep Expo and other educational places like that.
01:29Yeah speaking one-on-one with young people and hopefully getting them involved.
