00:00When I started, we had 50 students doing the wool class, seeing two of us were girls.
00:04So that was pretty awkward at the time.
00:09And now you go into a sharing shed, most of our wool staff are female.

00:24I just love the networking, the communications,
00:27the makes I've made along the way.
00:29The shearing industry is a really small industry.
00:32I got my first jobs in New Zealand and America through friends I work with here in Australia.
00:38It's taken me all over the world.
00:40So I've been really fortunate to meet a lot of ranchers, farmers right across different countries.
00:48Back in Australia, I really like dealing with my clients.
00:51And of course, we're all light-minded.
00:53We all love wool and we all love sheep and the agricultural industries.
00:57I've been with Elders for 22 years as a district wool sales manager based in Narracourt, South Australia.
01:02I cover the lower southeast of the state, basically from border town through to Narracourt,
01:09Panola, Millicent, Mount Gambier, Kingston, Lucendale.
01:12And my role with Elders is to source wool, advise clients.
01:18I love working in the sheds with classes, wool clip preparation,
01:23and ultimately trying to get the best price for our growers for their wool clips,
01:27whether they're crossbred or merino.
