00:00Well, not one, but actually two decisions by Trump when it comes to global deals that are shaking up the
00:08world order.
00:10Now, we know in terms of this appalling Labour Chagos deal, it was set to cost this country an absolute
00:19fortune
00:20that we would hand over sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius and pay huge sums of money for some
00:26reason for the privilege.
00:27A complete left-wing bonkers idea that was going to cost this country, what, 30 billion quid, that we'd pay
00:37100 million quid a year for 99 years.
00:41Well, Trump, speaking on this, appearing to kill off this terrible deal.
00:46President, are you going to support it?
00:48The what?
00:49The deal to give away the Chagos Islands from the UK to Mauritius.
00:53I don't support it. I think it's terrible. It was a terrible deal.
00:58They all of a sudden say they have ownership. Somebody has ownership that never showed up before after decades and
01:04centuries.
01:04I think it's ridiculous.
01:05No, we were talking about that. And it's strategically very important. Very important.
01:11You know, we had to send our B-2 bombers when we bombed the Iran nuclear.
01:16We had to send the B-2 bombers back home to Missouri as opposed to flying for a short period
01:22of time.
01:22They had to fly for a long period of time.
01:24And it's amazing how strategic it is. And I think the prime minister is going to be looking at it.
01:29Yeah.
01:29It's a very, very strategic location. Amazing.
01:34And it's unique. I said, well, we could get something else.
01:37Actually, it's a very unique, it's a very important piece of real estate militarily and strategically.
01:43Yes, right behind.
01:44And yeah, it looks like following that, that Andy Burnham and the Labour government are at least considering now their
01:51options given the lack of support from America.
01:55And it does appear this deal may now have been stopped.

03:07Because we're streeting, representing the government today, admitting that this leaves the Shagos deal pretty much blocked by Trump and
03:19America.
03:19This is his settled view of this deal.
03:22And successive British governments, including Andy Burnham's government, are clear that the deal can't proceed without US support.
03:30And so we will have to look again at the deal and get to a point where the Americans can
03:36get behind it.
03:37And so it is on hold, Mr. Street.
03:39And so we're not going ahead without the Americans.
03:43Now, beyond that, you know, some try to say that Trump's isolationist.
03:47Well, in terms of the American administration, they're also looking now at major progress in a US base in Poland.
03:55Poland, this would be christened for Trump if it does indeed go ahead, a permanent military base, US base in
04:04Poland.
04:04But also you heard, didn't you, the hysteria when it came to Trump and Greenland.
04:09And the reality was, as ever with Trump, he was negotiating.
04:12And you see the end outcome here.
04:14The US is going to open two new military bases in Greenland.
04:20And indeed, this was the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Friedrichsen, speaking about this new deal with Trump as well.
