01:26Ken Rosenthal had to issue a public apology yesterday after saying that Breslow was going
01:31to be next soon after Cora's fired.
01:33Well, how close do you think Breslow came to being fired?
01:39Like, so go back to June 11th, I think, and Sam Kennedy on this very show suggesting that
01:48there might need to be a pivot very, very soon.
01:50And I got to believe that Craig Breslow came within days of being fired, perhaps.
01:59But you have to give him credit.

02:04You got to give the guy credit for having the balls to make moves all the way back to Devers.
02:13Like, if you think about, we were talking yesterday about additions that he made to the baseball

02:21And I think you got to give him credit for being willing to part with Devers.
02:26I'm assuming being willing to go against Alex Cora and not re-sign Alex Bregman for what
02:34Bregman wanted.

02:35And then to be willing to, to say to John Henry and everybody else, we have to, we got
02:42to fire Alex Cora.
02:43And I would put Bregman on the ownership.
02:46I think he would have kept Bregman and that would have been the right decision.
02:49I think Wiggy was right about Cora from the, from the jump and that Breslow had the ability
02:55and that the organization allowed him to win that battle is why you are where you are.
03:00Because if Cora remains the manager, you're not in the playoffs.

03:32Craig Breslow deserves all the credit from this.
03:35Like, I actually think you might put Craig Breslow above Chad Tracy for the turnaround.
03:39He, he's, he's to, to, to credit for this entire thing.
03:43And he made moves that everybody was going to criticize.
03:45He was, he was criticized every single day in this city for months and continue to make
03:51decisions that weren't the popular ones.
03:53And, and he was right the entire time he was right.

03:57I mean, we, we criticized them in, you know, in the off season for him telling us that
04:01they were going to get a power bat and they did.
04:03And then, you know, he, they signed Wilson Contreras and, you know, at that point in time,
04:08nobody was like, you know, running around, you know, tops off celebrating Contreras.
04:13And then everybody was like Bregman back.
04:15He then says, you know, I'm, we're not going to pay Bregman this amount of money or give
04:19him the no trade or whatever it is.
04:20We're going to go with Caleb Durbin.
04:22And, and so some of the things like before the season, he was getting criticized with
04:27and rolling into the season.
04:29Everybody thought the expectations were like, all right, we like what this team looks like.
04:32They struggle.
04:33And then he makes some of those hard decisions during the season.
04:36And then at the trade deadline, he goes out there and gets guys, you know, say what
04:40you want.
04:41He went out and got guys and people were like, yo, they got to do something.
04:44They went out and they got Rushman, they got Curtis Mead.
04:47And so you look at it and go, all right, you put us in this position where you actually
04:52made moves at the trade deadline.
04:53And, you know, they were able to go on this run and turn things around.
04:57Yeah.
04:57And, and I think Chad Tracy deserves the shot that he is getting.
05:03And he's not a, I mean, he's probably not costing you a lot of money going forward.
05:09And so you can, if you feel the need to, at some point next season or season after, if
05:16there is a season next season, then you can make a change there.
05:19And it's, it's not a big deal.
05:22So I understand that part of it.
05:25I know there were some who wanted to see how Chad, Chad Tracy managed his team in the wild
05:32card series before taking the interim term off.
05:36But that's wigs.
05:37Yeah.
05:38Yeah.
05:38But it's fine with me because the way I look at it, it wasn't so much about the money for
05:42Chad Tracy.
05:43It's the fact that Brez bought an ownership in the front office.
05:47Know that Chad Tracy is a foxhole guy.
05:50He's a ride or die type of dude.
05:52He's not going to, he's not going to swim upstream when they want to do things.
05:56That's where I think that the clash happened with Alex Cora, right?
06:00He helped the Red Sox win a world series.
06:03So him and him and ownership had a good relationship, but he kind of bumped heads, whether it was
06:08with high and bloom, then he bumped heads with, um, Brez bought.
06:12So Chad Tracy's not going to do that.
06:14He's going to be a good soldier.
06:16That's going to do exactly what he's told.
06:18So it's not more about the money with the Chad Tracy.
06:20It's more like, okay, if we want to implement this type of system or go in this direction,
06:26Chad Tracy is going to be like, all right, I'm cool with that.
06:29I think it has a lot to do with that.
06:30They were going to extend Breslow because that was the right decision.
06:33And it's impossible to extend Breslow and not remove the interim tag.
06:38Like that, that, that they did it simultaneously was not an accident.
06:42I'm just waiting on the news that they have extended the relationship with driveline.
