00:00An historic former cinema could be converted into a community hub if plans are agreed with
00:06the council. Community hub Holbeck Together hopes to expand its services at the old box office
00:12on Domestic Street in Holbeck. A charity shop, reception area, community cafe and kitchen would
00:18be provided if the scheme is given planning permission. Council funding and cash from the
00:24government's levelling up fund would help pay for the scheme. The project would see the building
00:29gifted to the community group which was established in 1992 to support elderly people and now welcomes
00:37people of all ages to use its services. The building opened as the Picture House Cinema in 1916.
