00:08when we talk about saving a life we often imagine that it requires something extraordinary a doctor
00:14performing a critical surgery a medical team working through the night for a breakthrough
00:18treatment but sometimes saving a life begins with something much simpler it begins with one person
00:25deciding to donate blood now think about it for a moment we go about our everyday lives we work
00:32we meet people we make plans we worry about things which may not be our responsibilities
00:37and somewhere at that very same moment there may be a family needing blood it could be an accident
00:43victim it could be someone undergoing surgery it could be a patient fighting a serious illness for
00:48his life for that person and their family blood is not just a medical requirement it can be the
00:56difference between waiting and receiving treatment and that is why i believe blood donation is such
01:02a meaningful act at finnovation we have always believed that social impact is ultimately about
01:07people our professional work may involve designing programs managing projects creating solutions for
01:14communities but there are also moments when we as individuals have a very direct opportunity to
01:19contribute blood donation is one of those this year we are organizing our 11th annual blood donation drive
01:26in association with the indian red cross society and this year i would like to make a very personal
01:33request if you are eligible to donate blood please consider joining us don't think that you are just one
01:41donor and it is too small to make a difference because when enough people make that small decision to help
01:47the collective impact can be enormous you can also bring a colleague a friend or your family relative
01:54encourage someone you know to participate along with you sometimes the easiest way to inspire someone
