00:00We come every week don't we and we've come for years. I gather the first
00:05hours is free so it's okay if you're gonna do a bit of quick shopping but I'm
00:10just wondering if it does affect the shops and trade because of the charges
00:16in the car park because it always used to be full before and now we notice it's
00:22a lot more empty. We've noticed the reduction in people parking here
00:27compared to when we first came. This was always full and there were people that
00:31would come all the time. You'd see the same people coming and some of them
00:36were not just for shopping but they'd go for a walk. That all seems to have
00:40slowed down now compared with what it used to be.
00:45Wetherby, okay, it's becoming progressively less easy to visit and it's
00:50important to be visitors and it also affects things like you know the the
00:55charges for shopkeeping and so forth and these sort of things and so as a
01:00Wetherby living person we want the place to be bouncing and okay and this stops it
01:07happening. The amount of actual parking it's very low anyway so it's not easy to
01:13park anywhere and this was free and it was very helpful because it means that
01:19people come into the town okay and and just visit it. Now I know that in some
01:25terms the charges here are not ridiculous so they've been thought of
01:28offensively but the thing is why should they be charged at all. To be fair we're
01:33from down south so we're from near Bath and it's just we just paid for four
01:37hours it's £2.15 and compared to where we are Bath £2.15 is an
01:42absolute bargain we'd be talking seven eight pounds to park around Bath so happy.
01:47If you're deciding to spend the day here and especially in summer and if you've
01:52got a family that like to you know be near the river and that I think it's
01:56putting people off. What we need we need people to have free access okay to come in
02:00out of town easily and otherwise what's going to happen is you're going to get
02:04people trying to do more roadside parking there really isn't any so this
02:09needs to be a free and open place for people to visit for the sake of the town.
02:14I think if they can reduce the prices I don't think there's anything wrong with
02:18paying a little bit for it but I think it I think the amount that you do pay for
02:23the time that you're here it's just really maybe a bit more than people want
02:27to pay especially when just up the road there's the Morrisons car park up there
02:32that they I'm not aware they pay anything there I suspect people are they'll be
02:38packing up there now. We need support for the town okay this is rights and all the rest of it
02:44needs to be kept low because you'll notice that there are about 10 charity
02:49shops so we need proper businesses and we need proper visitors even though it's
02:54still a nice place people will still come this is not a good thing for it
